quick question blaze, are each of the 1000w lights on their own 20amp circuit, as well as the A/C w/ humidifier, and controller? Basically, my question is, have you delegated 120 amps total for the room? very nice haul btw...

I believe he wires up the 1ks to 2 timers, each run from a 40amp circuit. Here is a quote from his other grow...

It works like this I have a 40 amp double pole breaker installed to the main. I ran 10 gauge wire from the 40 amp breaker on the main panel to the 40amp 120v intermatic timer board outside the growroom, I ran another 10 gauge wire from the timer to a junction box, From the junction box I wired up 2 outlets using 12 gauge wiring, Each with its own line ran from the outlet to the junction. I run 1 1k light on each outlet and on one of the outlets I also run a co2 regulator. For the AC + Dehumidifier I installed a 20 amp breaker at the main and ran a line over using 12 gauge and hooked it up to an outlet for the ac and dehumidifier. Then installed another 20 amp outlet using 12 gauge for the 2 light movers the air purifier plus the fan! Thats how the electrical was done.

He only had 2 1kws in that grow so I assume he just ran another 40amp to another timer for the additional 2. Peep his picture from the first page...

Absolutely brilliant! Nice work. Good electrical work as well! Keep it safe, that's the biggest thing. Don't need another news story about a pot-head burning down their parents home because they plugged 4000watts into a non-fused outlet! (not suggesting you're growin at your parents because obviously...heh..lol)

I didn't go through the entire thread here so I'm not sure if anyone has already asked or not but I got a couple questions man!

1. About how much did this system cost?

2. How much does your electricity bill usually go up running 4000watts of lighting?

3. How hot does it usually get in the room and does just the one window A/C do the job?

4. Is it worth it?

I normally grow outdoors and I am generally not very impressed with a lot of indoor grow operations. Even the 1000watters are puny to me. But this one, heh, this is definitly impressive! Between this and a couple of the verticle grows I'v seen on this forum there is no questions about it, indoor mass cultivation IS possible...Unfortunatly I got you beat in one very big way...The sunlight is free!

But I am interested in how much this kind of setup costs because I have recently accquired the position of a Medical Marijuana Caregiver for a MMPatient. (I live in Michigan. It's a new law!) I'm going to be setting up a grow room indoors for this person so I just wanted to see what it would take to do what you got going on here man! (I have the space for it!)

No no...I mean is it worth it to PAY the THOUSANDS I'm more than positive it cost to simply gather the equipment to do this...

Like what is the yeild compared to initial construction costs. Then what is the operating cost of a system like this?

Is it worth it?

his operation total was prob about 4000-5000k with eletricity added maybe 6000k but thats pushing it and he pulled more then 5 pounds.... at 300$ a zip (which is low ball) hes looking aroudn 5k per pound... you do the math lol i would say its well worth it...

When your talking about 20k a harvest. And worst case scenario having about 3k monthy cost. You still take home 17k profit. And with high quality indoor crops prices can get really high for your product.

Ok so we're all assuming this is done for profit. Which I think is a safe assumption.

But what if it wasn't? What if one didn't or COULDN'T sell 5lbs of cannabis?

Would compensation for initial costs and operational costs be worth it when compared to the actual initial costs and operationl costs?

I'm just curious because I'm a Medical Marijuana Caregiver in Michigan and soon will be starting a project for a patient. I'm just trying to explore the costs and what not of the actual initial costs and operational costs so I can work out some kind of base figure if I was to be compensated for such...

The deal is it is still illegal to sell the cannabis, and it's even still federally illegal all together but it's state regulated. You can be compensated for initial costs and operational costs ONLY. Now of course there are ways around this and yea you can still sell bud on the side but I don't want to. I want to do the thing legit because that's what the whole positive forward movement with the legalization efforts is all about!
