If you're for real you don't need any outside donation and can self finance the whole show from licensure to facility

You can always find an excuse for why not and that's always good for the people who look for ways to do.

More people that quit or try to go underground the better the rec market gets for licensed producers whose money is going toward crushing out all those people trying to fight the system. Denver shut down all the OPC grows knocking out something like 50 a day.

Where I'm at will take 3 million In from license fees alone from all the permits. That doesn't include money for building permits for facilities and tax

Are you saying that if you can't self finance 3 mill you are not "for real"?

Please do tell...

The county will take in 3 million from all license in total

500 license x 6000 for license , 3,000,000 to county for dispersion to sheriff da etc so they can civilly or criminally abate any one out side of license system

Tier 2 water permit is 2500 , county license is 6000 for 10,000 saw ft (largest amount available until cdfa releases 22,000 sq ft license details )

Lawyer 5,000 to help push paperwork

So all in all it would cost an individual approx 13500 to get licensed.

Illegal PLANT growers? What a sad excuse for legalization.

Why don't we treat this agricultural commodity like an agricultural commodity? Creating these unnecessary tax and licensing systems continues to make the black market viable. You are incorrect if you think most smokers in Colorado and Washington are buying taxed/legal cannabis. I agree, far past guinea pig.

I realize that the selling of cannabis will require a taxing system, much like every commodity, including tobacco. But, to support a system of legalization where an abnormally high cost of entrance is the norm is to subvert the spirit and tradition of agriculture. If you are excited about the prospect of tasking the police with protecting your psuedo legal drug dealing club...you could potentially be seen as a bit of a jerk. Or at least self interested.

Also, people trying to get rich from farming a small field of cannabis are delusional. This is an agricultural commodity people. That is the most respectful way to cultivate and distribute this plant.

Seems very doable. Will you take this avenue Cat?

Cool, discussion! Michigan has it's own set of problems

Anyone else down in Flint yesterday for the MICBD conference?

Had little vandal issue again this year but we nipped that. What's hitting is hitting what's not's not.. Best so far hands down (and made many people's day in Flint yesterday) was Citral Flo from Ethos. If you saw the Yoopers down there you found us..

So after a lot of confusion is cleared with this I'm still not happy but there's really no where to go but into the new program... in the end patient access and quality are substantially improved and will allow for safer, more professional access. I guess the patient wins and everyone else gets way better at jumping through hoops. Lots of niches to fill and in the end we'll all be working our assess off pushing paperwork. I'm worried about the zoning issues and petty local boards that aren't going to work with us.

Im pretty displeased with this year and I honestly have taken very few pictures... I'll throw the dry porn up LOL. I had about 36 plants worth a fuck and it all comes back to the dirt.

Fix or toss dirt? PH on some holes is still in the 8's and 6.7-7.1 in others. That's with 6.5 water.

I did drop wet trimming all together, you guys were right. Last year was good but this year has some absolute fire. Just pathetic plant size.

Depends which day you ask me... But now that I'm not so... financially stressed? I guess a lot came off. More to work on in my life but I won't be giving up yet. I'll do one more season in these buildings and probably try to sell to someone looking for a 500 plant count. I want 1500.

That conference yesterday definitely opened some doors.

Im just trying to get back on level ground. Family relationships work everything has made this year a pretty low point of a year for me. Might be time to get off the rollercoaster and fly solo. I'll leave that at that but it'll bring a lot more focus and dedication back not to mention my emotional well being.

I thought about attending the conference in flint but seeing as there are no rules or regulations in place I figured I'd wait until the lawyers had some solid info.

As soon as the board is filled and there are actual guidelines they will have another conference or two I'm guessing. Zoning will be a big issue for sure.

I'm not sure patients will benefit from this law or not. Not sure quality will go up either. Pretty sure arrests will go up though.

Zoning just made every small town and village lawyer a $10,000 payday by the organizations trying to get a model ordinance passed. Definitely a lot of headaches in that. My Twp Board is inept and will not be able to functionally create anything thremselves.

so many growers down here have no idea what is goin on.

this new switch in law made me change careers to fungi.

shiitakes are my new focus and I feel confident that they will pay me right if I work hard at it.

no where near cannabis prices, but hey, its legitimate, I have no cap on how much I can produce and way less overhead. a friend also stated microgreens would be profitable, but I don't see the market in MI booming as much as fungi...yet ;)

I'm glad to hear this season wasn't a total bust for you Sho. I would toss the Klasmann and go back to what has proven itself. You had great results with Roots Organics soil, do you think you'll go back to that?

Good luck to you.

I know it's a bit of a haul from north of the bridge, but take a loot at Morgan composting smoking tomatoes blend. I used it this year with great results. They put it in super sacks and I was able to fit 12 yards on my 18' car hauler no problem
