Anyone ever heard of such a device ??

What would be the reason behind doing so? (Solis tek over lumatek)
There don't seem to be much difference between them both.
Nope. No such thing. The technology is unknown to us at this point in time.
$225 Solis Tek STK1000 http://www.amazon.com/Solis-Tek-1000-Digital-Ballast/dp/B004VWLS22
Runs 1kw, 600w, or 400w HPS or MH bulbs, will run a 1kw bulb at 1050w, 1kw, 600w, or 400w and will run a 600w bulb at 600w or 400w. (note that running a bulb lower than it's rated wattage has negative effects on color spectrum, life span, and of course it will be lower intensity).
5 year warranty, low defect rate, not the same chinese internals as nearly every other 1kw switchable, dimmable e-ballast on the market.
120v or 240v (both cords included), all the common safety features so it doesn't keep trying to drive a failed bulb, load-based ignition control (rather than random delay like the chinese models).
If you want a built in timer (that can control multiple ballasts) get the Matrix instead of the STK. Solis Tek's bulbs appear to be good and well priced, too.
I would get, and have gotten, a Solis Tek over a Lumatek et al. any day of the week. If you prefer the cheap Chinese models you may as well go straight to the source: http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/120v%2f240v-mh-%26-hps-e--ballast.html
No such thing as a dimmable ballast is that what your trying to say or are you on about the tech inside a solis tek?
Been eyeing Solis Tek ballasts, lately.. The Matrix, with the built in timer, seems like an excellent idea. No more running questionable timers! For $229 shipped, I'm leaning towards the Matrix 1000 as my next ballast purchase.
Just FYI, the one for $229 is not the matrix. Same lamp driving tech but no built in timer.
Although, I just searched to see what the Matrix model goes for these days, and it looks like they can be had for $220 - http://www.amazon.com/Solis-Tek-EXCLUSIVE-Digital-Controller/dp/B0070193PU
Yes exactly. This technology does not exist. The nazis once experimented with things like this and the consequences were devastating.
Lol sounds like the start of conspiracy theory, so all the digital dimmable ballast that have been on the market for some years now are incapable of dimming a bulb or strike up different wattage of bulbs?
Any facts to back up this wild claim? Love to know what the davastating consequences where.
