Uncle Fishstick,

Is that about 4 X 4, under a 400 watt?

Thinking about SCROG next grow. What are considered sucker branches? Are they low branches that will never get light?

I have not seen anyone growing a S1 but me. They where made by me. I picked a seed off the plant while it was still in flower. All the seeds where ripe I wanted to get one in flower so I would know if they where worth keeping. I have 40 packs ready to go..Here is the GG#4s1 I have in flower. I'm keeping a good eye on her. I take macros everyday of most of the flowers. It makes it easy to spot intersex traits.

Like I said the bulbs will fire but will not work properly. I tested the 400v bulbs on a normal ballast(long time ago) at my local store the PAR values are drastically reduced. you can't see this by eye you need a PAR meter.you can use them all you want but they wont perform to there 2100/1850(umol.m.2s1 of PAR) specs and they cost about 60$ more then the Bulb you should be using.

Most if not all stores are going to tell you sure you can use these bulbs. you wont ever know unless you have a PAR meter(not many do). They just want to sale you what they can. If you dont believe me ask whazzup he knows. he is a member here but has not been on in about 2 weeks. Only trying to help but most don't want to listen because there bulbs light up lol. I have a hard time understanding how anyone would think that if they put a 400v bulb into a none 400v ballast that it would function properly.

I have a par meter

Hood was AC/DE bulb was Ushio Pro DE
@ 32"s I got 1200 par with solis tek ballast. 1050 with global greenhouse, 1100 with quantum.

I called Ushio and they said I could run on normal ballast. The box says for use on ansi s-52 which a normal cap n core

That doesn't surprise me they would tell you that. My results where crap compared to a Gavita/E-P ballast. I did my test 1.5 years ago so unless something has changed a 400v bulb will NOT work properly in a standard ballast. I'm not the only one that got the same results. The Matrix ballast I have was not made to run DE bulbs. There is no info on there site that says it will.. I'm not going to debate it if you are happy thats all that matters. good luck with your garden..

Here is the full plant gg#4s1. she is a big girl about 5' tall.

The lateral branches seem more upright than the GG4 clone. Healthy looking plant, would you say it is growing at a faster rate than the gg4 clone, like it has normal seed plant extra vigor?

She looks very similar so far. Vigor is good not any faster or slower then the clone. Stretch is still 2-3x. The main difference is the branch strength is better and less lateral branching. This was just 1 random seed to check for hermie tendency and to see if the quality is the same.

For whom it may concern:
I will have plenty of 12 packs of GG4 S1s at the cup, all hand picked and tiger striped, hopefully I have plenty to feed the need. I will have a few other seed releases too, but since this is the glue thread why not drop some info here for those who might be interested.
Only had 2 not pop out of 100+ on the germ test, and 1 was a runty white seed that I wouldn't have put into a pack anyways so damn good germ rates in paper towels, water dunk, and direct sow (coco, soil, cubes).

I would love to connect with other growers, and burn with yall.
Im still thinking extremely hard about moving out to the PNW and going legal.
Would love the freedom to grow 25x 800gln smarties! What Liberty!
Things have changed so much in the last 15 years. Thank you growers in the PNW for putting in the work towards legalization.
You guys are truly heros and pioneers in the 21st century.
