well europeans dont have skunks, so they used the name to sell seeds. not describe an odor. a real shame me thinks

I remember when I first started smoking weed... and judged quality purely on how rank skunk smelling it was. If my nose recoiled out of the bag it was good stuff. We'd get buds that could be smelled next door even though it was double bagged.

Miss those days.

I have been getting many request to make more RudeGAL beans so when time permits, I will do more and get them in as "FREEBIES".

Am I the only whacko that rolls down the window and takes a big whiff when they drive by a dead skunk in the road? :biglaugh:

how something so nasty can smell so wonderful is beyond me.

I here yah. Rks is another oldschool strain I sorely miss. On another note I just want to warn people of a strain that has been touted as rks.

Bc Roadkill from Cannacopia-
This strain does not remotely resemble pure rks. It is Kush krap. The deep chunk dominates the strain and although there is some skunk in it. It would never be able to escape atleast some kush krap influence. I ran 30 seeds. I kept a mom just for the kush kids market. Nice purple pretty hard buds. Kush krap roadtar old socks nauseating puke smell. Decent kush taste. Mind fuck heavy dirty kush high.

Just wanna give everyone a heads up avoid this strain if u want rks.

That's the problem with deep chunk, it really seems to dominate everything it touches.

Im about ready to give up my search because it doesn't seem like it really exists anymore.

Lot's of talk here and other message boards about RKS but no one seems to have any worthwhile leads.

Were breeding a new skunk...wayyyy skunkier than anything I've tried so far.....
We try not to speak of the sweet.....muahha....so I take it med man was a sweeter strain? HindaH? Both skunks ? We will do testers to see if the masses can dig it.....HindaH stick around....
Stardawg brought it to realization....dnl wasn't skunkie enough....i95 tad too sweet ECSD may just have doneit....now the male has a most important role....keep in mind these will not "look"like old school rks nor have a true roadkill profile...it was a vision....but I stand behind my/our flowers/statement....
How's that saying go?

If you want something done right you gotta do it yourself.....

..so I take it med man was a sweeter strain?

So far what I have smells sweet. Nice plants but not stinky in that kind of way.

I only had 4 females, so it could exist in the line I just didn't find it.....yet. I will hold out saying too much till everything is dried and cured.

I did get one very stinky male, so maybe there is more out there. I'll have to see what the other testers are finding.

There is one more strain I'm going to try when ever I get around to ordering some seeds.

im pretty sure if there are true rks seeds out there they would be in a pile of seeds pulled from brick weed many years back.

Was the RKS a domestic crop? Was it grown outdoors? It seemed for a bit it was a commodity strain...we had shwag, then skunk and then indoor NL started to be available. We had rks in 91-92; a triple bagged eighth in a bookbag in a locker, had the whole hall smelling like skunk. Lucky my buddy didn't get busted. It was a bell ringer--stuff came from the sister of a guy who was in major label "hair band".

everyone turned to nl becuase the effect was still strong, but odor was way down to the skunk that got everyone busted. grower, seller, smoker. all went down due to odor issues

The one thing that this original skunk bud was known for was the plate leaf on the bud and is one sure way to tell if what you have is the original. Old skool skunk bud had large green plate leaf that was covered in crystals and the hairs were red. That is how you could always tell if it was the original real RKS was buy the tell tale large green plate leaf and of course the smell was the dead giveaway.

This absolutely correct. Plate leaf. Hairs were red but not huge and stem like Afghan.

theres S1 beans of the Original sk1 , but its not roadkill like were all searching for... a LOT of skunks were remade since 80's so it could have been a pheno from god who knows where , i "think" Trinity or Shoreline and few others could be the original roadkill phenos
originals were mostly orangeish slight spicy with hints of sulphur skunk smells..

lucky man having the pure rks pheno! i too love the smell of skunk while driving. i wonder if its me for a sec and then embrace the fact it could be a dead animal or someone Else's grow and enjoy the smell... lots of stinkers up here, lol. ive only had experience with particualar cuts having that rks trait smell but not the pure skunk rks. i have grown a nice super skunk cut from the early nineties that was the stinkiest herb ive ever had or grown. smelled like you just got sprayed. no containing the smell. i can see why they bread that trait out for stealth but now that the laws are changing it is now very much desired. at least by me and just a few other ic'ers. :)

Hi guys, I don't know if this connection has been made before, but around 3/4 years ago I was given some RKS Skunk buds by Kangativa that came from seeds from Jim Ortega, a famous North American breeder (he was responsible for a lot of the indicas that ended up in Nevil, Ben Dronkers and Shantibaba's hands). He was also the recipient and keeper of a pure G13 cut from Nevil (another story). Anyway there was nothing sweet about this Skunk, but it was very stinky, strong and long lasting. So anyway, if you can find where Jim Ortega sells his seeds, or who he may have sold cuts to (in Canada perhaps), you might find what you're looking for.:tiphat:

amsterdam does not know what skunk is.

i have lived there a year, no real skunk to be found, even in the country where the good weed is
