Shit well looks like I am gonna have to upgrade my filter planned on doing it anyways and getting a phesh filter I think that's how they spell it. The filter I bought for last year claims to be able to handle stench but it's filled with that burnt fiber carbon filter or some shit like that but I heard they arent as good as the Australian virgin activated carbon filters so that's what I am aiming to buy hey maybe I'll just run two damn filters if I have to sounds like a plan to me since I'll have two I'll just use my duct fan for the shit filter. Well as far as my runts I actually looked at them today after going to check my outdoor progress and all the rks has bulked up and there are only a few that are looking like a cull might need to take place very week stems after beating them with a fan for a week straight they just can't hold there heavy sets of leaves up. But IMO I will go to hell or high water to keep everyone alive till its indicated male or female or if it's just lagging to far behind then it will get culled but until one of those happen right now rks#2 are 10/10. Well I must say I am pretty impressed with med-mans garden looked at some of your threads and wow what a set-up. Hiding in the haze hey the way I look at it rock what you got or wind up with I have seen a couple tester threads on here were people we're only left with a couple plants out of a ten pack so to cull one or two ya gotta do what you gotta do better to rock with only strong ones.

PHOTO UPDATE

Weekly review: All plants got transplanted today. I mixed up a fresh batch of soil, but this time I cut it with 40% fresh peat. My soil mix was getting a bit gritty after years of recycling I think this will really improve growth. I ended up culling the runt from Group 2, after 2 weeks it hadn't grown at all and didn't root its cup so I gave it the axe. Im going to give them a few more weeks veg, then flower them out in 3 gallon bags, I have been running 5 gallon buckets but I am switching back to 3 gallons so I can run more variety and to make the plants easier to move around.

First pic is Group #1 before transplant, second pic is Group 1 and Group 2 after transplant.
The 3 oldest plants are really starting to stink, each one is slightly different smelling but all reek. Anything that stinks this much in veg has got to be good.

Group 3 also got transplanted today to 4" squares, this pic was before transplanting.

Group 4 I just sprouted my last 2 seeds, they poked above soil today. This completes my test growers pack and gives me a total of 8 plants to try out. Im a little bummed I lost those 2 in the beginning, but life goes on.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah when they stink at that size it's definitely a good sign.
I have a few other strains veg'ing right now not shown, like chem sis x nevilles haze, NL5x Haze, cole train and cheeseberry haze and these RKS's are by far the stinkiest, with the chem sis cross in second place. I have grown cheeseberry haze before and it produces some stinky ass flowers and they don't even smell like this in veg.

Im thinking about a 45 day veg on these so not much longer to go on group 1.

Ya I have to put my tent back up now and start running my filter because IMO these are some stinky little bitches with some monster leaves that are having trouble holding up also IMO that they must like a lot of light because it seems that under my 270w blue and white led light they just wanna grow tall and straight up. So think I am gonna put the tent up transplant them next size up and beat them with a 600w to keep them low and fat I want bushes!! Glad to hear you have 8 out of 10 haze I am still rocking 10 of 10 right now but boy these girls are stinky and lanky for my liking they seem to just wanna grow straight upwards are u having this same issue?? Doesn't seem like it seems like yours are staying how I want mine to be and I only have my light about 18" from them. Looking good though haze glad to watch someone else's rks#2 journal plus we started around the same time gonna be cool to compare notes.

Mine are pretty squat, on the 3 in group 1 their internodes are about a 1/4 in apart.

I use 6500k t5's on 24hr light cycle and it really keeps the plants short and squat. Everything I grow under this fixture has super tight inter nodes even some of the haziest strains.

That's probably my issue because I have read that if you give plants a less of a lights on period that you will increase your female/male ratio I am currently running mine at 18/6 but I think I will do a 23/1 now so I can keep them shorter for now. My last grow I did had no issue with the short cycle plants stayed nice and low and short stacked nodes. But I must say these road kills have been zooming ever since I germed these things.

TBH Mikenite, I've had an overwhelming amount of females while running 24hr on.

In the last 7 months, I have ran many strains, usually in groups of 4 or 5.
So far this year I have had 3 groups be all females, it seems every time I have popped seeds looking for a male I have gotten all females.

The only down side to running 24hr on is growth seems slower, and plants don't stretch out very much, this is fine by me as I like my plants short and compact.

I popped about 20 seeds in the last month, it will be interesting to see how many females I get.

Weekly Review:
Things are going well, the first 2 plants have shown sex. So far I have 1 male and 1 female. Growth is slow but steady. All plants got a top dress of EWC with their watering. They are all very stinky, more details on the odor can be found below.

Group 1 & Group 2
Starting in the rear, the back left is a male at 37 days veg, the back right is the first female at day 37 veg.
Front left, sex unknown day 36 veg, front right sex unknown day 33 veg. I tied female #1 down yesterday, to promote side branching. I would like them to be ready for flower in another 15-20 days, but I wont flower it until I can clone it.

Group 3
Both on day 22 of veg, not much to say about these 2, they are chugging along and will be do for a transplant in about 8 days or so.

Group 4
Day 11 veg, they were looking a little bit yellow so I gave them a shot of EWC. They will be transplanted in a few days.

Misc photo's

Here is a cross section of the first female at 37 days veg, she is a slow grower and not very tall but she has 10 nodes on a plant that is barely 6 inches tall.

group shot of all 8 together

Whats the smell like thus far on the #2?
smell like what?

They have extreme odor even at their small size. I got in and gave my 2 oldest plants a good stem rub and smell last night and holy shit they are stinky. I am definitely picking up a skunk like odor from the oldest 2. Not like a skunk dead in the road but like fresh skunk spray.

The male in particular has some of the strongest odor I have ever smelled in veg. The plants themselves are also very sticky, when you rub your face in them the stink sticks to you and even made my face numb.

I have quite a few strains in veg right now, even a couple of chem hybrids and they do not compare to the extreme odor of these RKS's.

The 6 younger plants are quite stinky too, but too small to tell yet what they smell like or how powerful they will be.

From my experience, anything that stinks this much in veg is going to really reek in flower.

totally hiding,

they do have reall sticky feel when really young.

i have seen chem grown and it was soft compared to all my skunks and afghanis. maybe the donor dad has a dominant low odor used for the chem?

these skunks will need to be vac sacced, triple bagged or frozen in jars to allow any type of odor control

med-man

ps #2 will be stockier and a bit slower then the #1 ibl...

Your Afghanica is on my short list of things to grow. I've got some other pure afghan drying now, early smoke tests has got me intrigued in the afghanistan herbs.

The stink on these bitties is addicting, I find myself smelling them every time I go into the veg area.

Jackbaybeh, no worries on the hijacking, watching plants veg is quite boring; conversation is welcome :)

Glad I am not the only one with a autoflowering baby in my garden of rks2 and boy yes they stink also glad mine aren't the only ones that have slowed in veg. Looking good hiding we have very similar looking phenos. Let me Ask you a question are some of yours dark green with fat wide leaves others that have smaller fans a light green? I am kinda noticing that on the 2 different Phenos I see so far. Would love your input and if you noticed this at all. Peace mike

No autoflowering pheno's here, they are all starting to show preflowers but thats it.

Veg is a little slow, but still consistent with the other strains I have in veg right now with the exception that the others have a little more branching taking place. I notice that these take a single cola pattern, I have them all bent over now (will show in this weeks update) to encourage side branching.

At this rate I am not too concerned with how long they take to veg, I have enough shit to fill my flower area right now so I can give them the time they need. When summer comes to an end I might throw in another 600w HPS, I am debating the upgrade right now but it's gonna cost a couple hundo and Im pretty broke right now lol.

I notice maybe 2 pheno's so far from what I can tell, wider leaves vs thinner leaves, too early to tell any other differences they have.

The leaves might look different because of my shitty lighting, next photo update I am going to put a little more effort into the pictures. Also, this test group of plants was planted in 2 different types of soil, the first 2 were in my straight homemade recycled soil, the rest in my recycled soil mixed with fresh peat. I think the peat group grew better. All plants have been transplanted into my peat mix now tho.

Med-Man, if you happen to be around, I was curious if you knew how much these stretch when flipped?

Ya I only called it autoflowering because one is showing multiple hairs on it. Never had a strain do that unless I vegged it for a Long time then I would see the preflowers not on plants so young and barely any height to them. Also mine are showing different variation in leave color that's why I was asking some light and some dark I am liking the darker green leaves for sure fat as hell. Also yes I am noticing the single cola formation also they don't like to branch I topped all mine and am gonna bend them over also lady's usually like that. Hehehehe. I like how yours are looking they are coming along nicely mine had a little issue with N but I think I have it all sorted. Well we are pretty much at the same pace can't wait to see how yours and Mine both come out good luck hiding and lady's and boy's are looking great for sure. Adding that other 600w you should have some monster colas for sure.
