i can grow all year round...but the wet season wipes out most plants that are put out for me, so i don't bother these days...had a couple of mates years ago pull off a big (for me anyways) crop that vegged through the wet. they were long flowering big arse sativas that produce a ton of (unfortunately) very mediocre buds...

here's a current one from about 150K's south of Tropic of Capricorn.

seems like even as far South as Nimbin people take off winter crops. are quite used to it.

it has been unusually warm here this Winter. and with regular but not heavy rainfall ... which is also unusual.

the soil is what Scrub Turkeys provide for me (new stuff every year)!

as to flowering ... if this was Sativa I 'd confidently say it will flower in late Sept to middle of Oct before it started to veg again.

Obviously it's not Sativa tho'. the strain is available thru the Hemp Embassy as 'Low-THC'. it is an early flowering Med plant. my last summer grow this plant was almost two months earlier. my guess is it flowers after a certain time no matter when it's planted.

of course ... as You and I have discussed before ... the quality and quantity of the heads is reduced in Winter.

Im always interested to see how far south one can still take advantage of the lovely winters we have ,
the rain has just stopped here and ive almost finished planting,

most of these hybrids i grow this time of year take 14 weeks,
give or take a week ,
its all over and done pretty quickly,
lets hope its a kind season weather wise for all the outdoor growers..

hehehe perfect. I need a fan controller to keep temps bit higher at night...cause i like to keep em going all the time to keep hudmity in check....but at full force is over kill n cooling down the room alittle to much.

have no heater going at this time, the insulation in the walls is doing a great job even with the intake air coming from outside the room.

Im sure while lights off temps at 14-16 is porbably abit low, but its at bout 23 at lights on with all fans running. so as long doesnt get too much colder shell be right

Hi all, great forum commenced. I've been on hiatus myself for 18 months. Would love to start up again in future if circumstances permit. I have just moved from S.A. to N.S.W..

A little info I can add to some of the previous correspondence that I've read from contributing members in this forum.

Seed boutique used to stock kiwi seeds stock and if my memory serves me correctly, they were in partnership with a large dutch seed bank (maybe greenhouse - though not 100% sure). Best bet would be to do a thread search and verify growers results. Like was formerly mentioned, it is advisable to order seeds through Seed Boutique or Seedbay. I have ordered many deliveries (over 10) and never once lost any or been unhappy with service or quality except for Sensi Seeds G13 X Hashplant. None germinated, not even replacement stock. I was very grateful that I received replacements however and conclude that the stock was old and therefore no good.

My previous grows include Mandala Safari Mix, Greenhouse Trainwreck and A.M.S. (Anti mould strain), Nirvana White Widow (my holy grail phenotype - maybe just pot luck... pun intended) Female Seeds Grapefruit X Ice (Another beauty), S.S.S.D.H. from both Rez and Connoisseur (Both outstanding, very hazy and delicious) amongst other strains I ordered and gifted to grower friends (too many to remember).

Of 2 outstanding phenotypes of the Grapefruit X Ice I kept the sativa leaning and gifted clones to a friend along with a great S.S.S.D.H. (Rez). My friend went on holiday and left his room to be tended by an amateur who muddled up temps and light times. The result was some cross pollination from the hazy S.S.S.D.H. onto the Grapefruit X Ice and a lot of seedy GFXIce produced a lot of female seeds. My friend now grows this cross exclusively from the many hundreds of seeds and I have enjoyed the fruit of this cross from time to time when he throws me some here and there. It is some damn fine ganja that has some very interesting and varying phenotypes. Unfortunately I don't get it often enough and probably less now that I'm interstate and know no one out here. lol.

Anyways, I just wanted to congratulate you all on starting a great thread and wish you all good luck on future yields. I'm so jealous that I am no longer able to grow (at this point in time). So will have to live vicariously through you all by checking out your pics and input.

So sorry to hear of Kangativas woes with the law, it's true... you have to be extremely wary of security threats. I have had my own experience with losing everything due to trusting someone that I shouldn't and take any opportunity to educate others on the danger of exposing oneself to loss from rip off or law enforcement. Do yourself a favour and assess whether you could be at risk and address the threat proactively. Check out my former posts if you want to read a sob story about loss from being ripped off. Was my own damn fault and I own my lapse in judgement 100%. Lesson learned, don't make the same mistake folks. The reason I'm on hiatus to this day is because of that incident, although like everything in life... it was meant to be and led me to my new life which is great. Philosophically I'm glad it happened, although it has taken me a long time to realize this. I'm lucky but, not many people can have their life turned upside down like I did and walk away better off.

Enough of my dribble though, this is my first post in a very long time. Thanks guys for inspiring me to write something.

I did learn from my mistake and move along to bigger and brighter things Donald, the only regret I have is that I can no longer grow. I lost my house, car, missus... the whole of my life as I knew it. It was, however, the catalyst to me standing back up, dusting myself off and rebuilding my life on a far more solid foundation than I had previously stood. It was one of the hardest times in my life but it yielded some great new experiences, so much so that eventually I looked back and was glad that it had happened. I am extremely fortunate that I can weigh this up and realise that out of my dark time I was guided towards my true destiny. I don't mean religiously, just philosophically. I am by no means, and will never be a god loving church freak.

I also believe that if you are reasonably security conscious about your online activities, it is unlikely that they will cause any harm. As a previous poster suggested, nine times out of ten it is a jealous ex, two faced dogs or 'so called' friends, bad preparation of grow hardware (dodgy meter bypass, insufficient air filtering, noise pollution, light leaks etc.) or just plain bad luck.

In my own experience personally, I don't know one person who has ever been charged with cultivation. One who was raided, but they didn't find his room (right under their noses too... hehe dumb-arses!!!)

A few, like myself, ripped off by desperate people (who happened to owe a lot of cash for amphetamines to much nastier folks than myself). That's another point guys, just because you trust someone doesn't mean they won't get themselves into trouble with other crew and sacrifice you to save themselves and their family from violence that comes with bad debt. Honestly, I couldn't blame them either. If it was between upsetting me or being physically threatened by very, very nasty crew... I'd upset me too. Moral is, if you have a friend who knows your secrets and they have a vice that could be getting out of control (drugs, gambling, whores etc), then you may suffer the consequences despite their intentions and even considering a solid relationship that has a lot of history. It's another thing to consider in a security audit guys, don't think it won't happen to you.

I'm rambling on again, so will leave it at that. Lets see some bud porn, like I said... for now I'm gonna have to jerk off to your pics. I can't wait to finally get my hands on a regular supply of top notch, it's disgusting what people sell to poor folk who can't grow their own, might as well be tea leaves. I've stopped buying crap and therefore aren't smoking these days. I refuse to support pleb fucks who grow shite weed. No wonder all of my former customers beg my return. Lol.

So true b00m, my thoughts are as much a clone as yours mate. I'm glad you mentioned PGR's, they are extremely nasty additives and I urge all cannabis users to learn how to identify dodgy dope that's been 'super bud' fed and say "no thanks".

There is a distinct lack of resin and the calyx's appear burnt brown. You almost cant chop it with scissors. It's akin to adding super glue and possibly on par in terms of toxicity. There is a reason why it was banned and a reason why most hydro shops sell it out of the hidden back stock.

If you value your health then avoid smoking buds that appear to have been molested with PGR's.

i usually have more resin at 3 weeks floweing with no pgr than i did after 10 weeks on the 1 run i gave em a try.....fully brown hairs by week 4 and makes all the buds brown..

But if ya metro sydney mate.....most ppl i know only want pgr...rocks as i call em....they think it means the "Dro" just unedcuated n stupid.....anything softer is bush.....resin or not

Yep, PGR buds are standard fare when obtaining green from commercial sellers. I doubt I will score anything locally anyway, so I'm sure to avoid any and besides, I know all to well what to look for if by chance an opportunity does present itself to buy local.
