I've ben hitting the dream stream pretty regular lately. if you know were to look the pigs are starting to move in. still a bit slow but when you get into one its's one hell of a fight. landed several 8 to 10 pounders just on Thursday. there going to start draining antero in the next 2 weeks and there not going to let anyone know but a select few know about it for several day's before they make the announcement. I'm lucky enough to be one of those people lol. 11 mile canyon is also fishing really good right now.

Puddle fishin, usually leads to mo drinkin. Something about keeping lubricated maybe? Not always, but it's the prettiest bar rooms in the state.

There's always another hole to check if the water is moving. Or just enjoy the scenery.
Plus I've awlays been fond of streams and rivers. Some are infested with brookies. Spend a couple hours finding keepers, but it's a great couple hours!

Get too far off center,, (lubricated) ya fall down, get wet and,, as I recall, that water is really COLD!

Thanks guys, I think I need get a licence, just in case and just because.

Mostly run off with a few clear spots, spring is in the air and the Animas is starting to fill up! Can't wait for the summer to hit.

Thx for speaking up.... I did not know that.

I just watch them float by, while i'm fishing.

I got run over by one playing in the hippy dip next to the Glenwood springs hot spring!!! :D

There's a large rock in the middle of the river,.... think it's the only piece of white water any where around at that point in the river. Anyway,... the water behind the rock is only about waste deep, and with the backwash is actually pretty calm, just bubbly..... so someone tied a rope to it, I was relaxing in the river hanging on to the rope when the people on shore started hooting and hollering.... I rolled over just in time to see the bow of the boat crest the rock and duck my head!!!

Felt weird having the smooth-ish bottom of the raft slide over me, but it certainly didn't hurt. As soon as the raft passed I stood up and watched as everyone in the raft jumped for the upstream side to see if I was okay. I just laughed and swam back to the shore to relax in the runoff from the springs.:tiphat:

Almost got run over a couple of years ago. Funny now, not so much at the time. Had a really nice rod and reel in hand when it happened. They only seem to teach one line of travel to the kids. Didn't realize it at the time, however.

Up stream from Salida.

They're talking about making a National Monument of the Brown's Canyon area now. One of us ought to open a retail outlet in the area in honor of 64. Just say'm. Don't know if Mark Udall approves or not?
