1st grow day 35 Update

1st grow day 35 Update

I cant wait to smoke these ladies. All looks good. With six different strains growing the smells are wonderful. I have one plant that is from bagseed that I dont know the genetics of.The bud it came out of was good. If anyone wants to guess based on the pic, please do. It smells like cotton candy up close and is very sticky.

On day 52 Im going to stop nutes and flush.Im eager to get this grow behind me.

Thanks for the interest!

all i can say is...WOW... we tried to bloom in our 4x4 tent with 8 4' t5's, but after about 1 month 12/12, did not like how slow/small the buds were, we moved em into our 3000k flower room... now we have added an add. 6bulb 4' t5 fixture in the tent, for a total of 14 bulbs... but hesitate flowering under em... mite have to reconsider...:thank you:

Your grow spot looks surgical. Clean n' tidy.

...mine is usually a cluster fuck. I use the polly myself and think its great. (read: low maintenence and I'm lazy) If time, money, and space were not an issue would/have you considered side lighting?

Thanks 5th...

I like to keep it clean and grow from seed or my own cuts only...

In 33 years of growing I have never had any of the bug or mold problems I read about here, a gnat every once in a while but that's it...

My mind is always wondering...

Putting a 4'x4tube fixture on each side of the 4'x8tube fixture would work great and put you at 864w. Side lighting can really help the production of quality buds top to bottom and I have used it in the past...

Then I think... this way grows me more then I need so why bump it up as I'm lazy and cheap...lol

2lc... that Bubblegum/sativa is the frostiest I've seen in some time...

Noyd... thanks for stopping by...

Zach... She was holding her own and then I moved her a few days ago and the tops fell over from there own weight so I took her down. She's a stinky one, I'm thinking baby poo but 2lc thinks more of a cat piss...lol

Do a test grow under the T5's and I think you will be surprised...

Just so ya'll know.

ZZ's White Russian and Bubblegum, look even better in person.:woohoo:

For those of you who are thinking of going this way. The lights we are using are the T5 Ho, 8 tube, 4' x 2' nominal, fixtures. They put out in the vicinity of 40K lumens, and use 432 watts, advertised draw of 3.6 amps. The one I'm using is HydroFarms Designer.

So beware of less tubes, and regular T5s. These are NOT anything resembling CFLs, T12s, or T8s. These PUT OUT!

The footprint is almost exactly the size of the fixture, looking straight down. And I keep them within a couple of inches of the foliage. Because I'm a control freak, I used fairly rigid wire fencing as a horizontal screen, kept the large leaves picked (even some of the small ones too), with 2.5 x 4" openings. Had 2 Ak47s under the light. And, I had to add a 2x4 on each end to hold the wire down. HST anyone? Keeping it flat that way, virtually all the colas (50-70 per plant), are/were, the same size, about 5-6"s.

The 2x4 foot screen was virtually full after veg, with a very pleasing harvest of just under 8 oz. dry per plant.

ZZ is somewhat less of a control freak, and lets his grow up through the screen (he uses nylon netting), so it can push up in the middle some. He then ties the branches down, onto the top of the screen. The larger 4x4" openings are better to work with.

While I liked the rigidity of the wire, I want larger openings. Going to look for different wire for the next run. Maybe 'rewire', used for concrete flatwork? I think the lighter stuff used for sidewalks might be right up my alley. :)

Also it seems that the bloom times increase a week or two, from advertised 'bloom times'.

Not having the ability to leave 'well enough' alone. I'm wondering if there is enough output to run a 'mover' over the 2x4 fixture. Hmmm.

Nuff said: But yeah, ZZ does have it 'figured out'. But he still Has to tinker.

I usually just veg with T5 and finish with 2, 600w HPS but after the $200 electricity bill I decided to try and finished with the T5 also ordered another 6 bulb system to finish and a case of bloom bulbs. I may still fire up the HPS for half the month it all depends.

17 feminized females in 8 bucket waterfarm under 324 watt 6 bulbs system.

Welcome CaStoner...:tiphat:

Looking Great...! Will be watching this thru bloom...!

At the end of this grow I'm going 100% T5's and dumping my two 400w HPS on light movers. The T5's are so much easier to manage and very cost effective, especially in the Summer...

Thanks ZZTop, I always wanted to try and finish with T-5 because I see the results in veg and after seeing your buds. I separated them. I got another week before 2 months are up from seeds. I always veg for 2 month no matter what. I also did some LST.

Yes I been doing it this way for awhile just to save on electricity, flowering kills me with 1200 watts plus fans etc all adds up, so I will try and finish with the T5 if I feel they need a boost I may fire up the HPS for 1/2 a month.

I always veg for 2 months for yeild. I hate to spend 3 month of work for a month of smoke doesn't make sense my last grow was 1 year ago I'm running low..lol
