very nice! I veg under t5's and love them! I'm hoping to push a little more this year, but don't know if adding 500w more would be worth it.....time will tell. Cool thread ZZ!

we too veg under t5's.. 4x4 tent.. we r running 1 4' 48''' 8 bulb fixture , and 1 6 bulb fixture.. one thing we have noticed with t5's, the bulbs do not last anywhere near to the 20,000hrs stated by the manufacturers... they seem to die at 2/3000hrs...running 24/7.. i spoke to a guy at hydrofarm n he said due to the smaller filiment, n the heat generated inside the bulb, 2/3000t in about all to expect.. seems a bit of deceiving saying 20k...

Love the pics, ZZ! Nice set up. I generally run 400w MH for veg and 1000w HPS for flower, but I have some serious heat issues in the summer where I live, so maybe switching over to a t5 setup in the summer would make sense. One gets addicted to wattage and the dense nugs produced by all that light. But you can't produce anything if you can't turn the lights on.

Same problem here.
I've been thinking about a T5 setup for flower in the summer so I can do some pheno searching. Cool to see what some people are doing with T5's in flower.

Cool thread ZZ

I really like my 'new' light. It has two power switches so you can burn 216 watts (veg), or the full 432 watts for bloom.

Even at full fire I can put the light at 2-3"s without damage to the plant. Now That's impressive.

Now to see if I can manage even half the production that ZZ gets!

Happy New Year All and Thanks for Stopping By...

2LC... Show us some stuff, you know you want to...

Dubwise... Done right you can get 1gpw ( counting butter buds and I do love cookies ) so the math is pretty easy...

Zach... Your replacing your bulbs every 3/4 months...?
Something's up as I have 9K on these lamps and just fired'm up for the next run. Maybe it's a heat issues causing the electrode to burn out the bulb prematurely as you notice I have a fan blowing directly on the bulbs keeping the heat down and ventilating the plants.

Komboloi, Marlo... Speaking as a personal grower the more I use my T5's the more I'm liking them, they have simplified my life so I can have a Life...

Bud Porn, Everybody In The Pool...

ZZ, very nice job!

some questions though: did u veg them under the same lights/watts? for how long? seed or clone?

did u buy the lamp pre made or assembled it yourself? plug&play?

what's the heat like? r u using 110 or 220 current?

thanks and keep up the good work!

peace

Really cool idea for a thread, ZZ. I have always enjoyed looking at fluoro grows! My first grows were under T5 tubes, so it is a concept near and dear to my heart. I might even set up another T5 grow just for the sake of it. There's something about a bank of light, evenly saturating a bed of plants. I don't have any more pictures, because they were so long ago, but I did very well growing Mandala's White Satin under 8 x 54w T5HO tubes. I grew 8 plants at a time, and averaged about a half ounce off each one. So, averaged around a QP each go, nothing but bud on a stick!

Let's see some more T5 grows! :)

This place has the 4' 8 tube fixture. You probably have one closer to you. The HydroFarm one is like $227, and has dual power switches, so you can use the 4 middle tubes or the 4 outside tubes (2 on each side). Well it won't let me add a link, but it's waytogrow.net.

Commercial-T5-8-Bulb-4%27-System

My first run and I veg'd on the 4 middle tubes 24/0, then went to all 8 (432 Watts) 12/12, for bloom. The girls are just now starting to put on a bit of weight. I'm running 2 girls under the one light, lollypopped and trained flat under wire screen.

The wire is an experiment to see if it's a big hassle at harvest. lol

I'm at 5 weeks 12/12 bloom, currently. @ 432 watts

AK is stink'n good. And starting to 'frost'.

Bombadil.360.. I use the hydrofarm fixture like 2LC points out, 4'/8tube/110v/432w, lets see if I can Link a few...

http://www.greners.com/i/grow-light...farm/t5-designer-fluorescent-system-4-ft.html

http://waytogrow.net/store/product/1962/Designer-T5-8-Bulb-4'-System/

I start from seed under a 2'/4tube/96w fixture, then about 3/4 weeks they are big enough to go under the 432w fixture and veg another 3/4 weeks then flip them in bloom under the same light...

Heat is about 50% or less of my 400w HPS, so a lot easier to manage...

Any other ? just let me know...

Hush/Benzo... Looks like you guys need to get going on that and share some photos...:)

i too thought 3/4 months was way too short a time, hence my call to the manufacturer... n we too have a fan blowing under the lights to disapate the heat... we just bought 16 new bulbs... they have a 1year guar... keeping the box.. if they don't give us nearto the 12months, shipping em back..
