Silver's second straight-bulb several strain sweetened soil sweetness. Seriously.

Hey silver, you ever try just rooting clones in cups of soil?

Never have - though every time I go through the whole cloning process, I always think back to when I was a kid, and my mom would root plants, just in a glass of water, on the windowsill by the kitchen sink.

Never underestimate humans' ability to complicate and create a not-always-necessary market for shit..

..when I said the soil is from runs past, that's what I meant. Runs past, veggers that never made it, dudes, etc.. Here's a wad:

View Image

..and there were also some chunks (clumps) of soil that were still cube-shaped from the square pot they were in, .. So all of that gets beat up with a shovel and a rake for a bit.

And then this:

And then this:

..and then left out like that for a couple weeks, watered with set-out water (and an occasional molasses/goodness deal)..

Then thrown back in to the can itself for storage, general marrying of critter and mushy awesomeness..

This is my first time with a recycled soil, and I've basically just winged the add-back deal. So I'll probably slowly work the mix into the garden, one plant at a time, .. So's if it needs further dialing, I can do it on the fly, without having committed entire runs to it.

Phew.

I am a huge fan of mixing your own soils after this years outdoor.....great job Silver H>

Hey mega :tiphat:

Thanks for swingin' by! The soil thing, I dunno man. :dunno: Just what feels right in my gut and to my brain. Like I always say, .. I'm sure there are guys (yourself, bobble, others present perhaps included) who run a hydro deal, coco even, and reuse their coco, and they're like "meh."

And that's cool. :) But like y'all dig and feel right and understand that, this is my deal, .. :shucks: Works for me! Mostly, anyway - sans the ChemD.

...So, I'm lazily googling "cloning in promix" for kicks, .. The first few links take me to some other sites, ..

I don't want to rain on any of their parades, but holy moly. I'm so glad I was given not just the gift to be able to (on many levels) grow reefer, but also the gift of a resource like y'all.

Thanks for the eyeballs! :tiphat:

The rooters/dome/tray/heat work well enough, .. But because I'm generally taking cuts less'n 6 at a time, it's a pain to take up 2 sqft (read: half the damned veg tent) for the endeavor..

Ultimately, it's environment^eleventy, IMO/IME/OMG/LOL

And, more importantly, when the bucket is kickin', it's KICKIN'.

Thanks Avinash.! The Goat looks good, though I'm seeing that she actually produces quite well on her lower rungs too.. Next time I'll leave more. :D

And just think, she's got another 25 +/- days to go.. :artist:

I'm flattered, but I think you might should stop looking at shiny objects - you tend to immediately lust after all of them.

:) Your plants look terrific silver, especially the ND. It looks like it'll be your biggest yielder. The GG gets my second vote. Which of your strains is the most potent? :canabis::watchplant:

Thanks smiley!

That's a good question re: the potency..

Of these varieties, I've only run the ND and StrawDD before. This pheno of the ND (ran two others, kept the #1) is pretty potent. (I'm a little leery to say "It's the bomb, brah," if only out of modesty) I think some folks here have sampled it - they can chime in with their opinions, I hope. :tiphat: (And be honest any of y'all! I don't need sunshine cranked up my ass).

The #1 pheno (keeper) was FAR more productive than the other two phenos I got. One of the non-keepers had a good sativa raciness to it, but by then, she'd already gotten the heave-ho.

I've grown the StrawDD before also, .. Heavy yield, and IIRC the lab tests (not of my own) do say she's a potent one..

:shucks: I personally found the buzz to be a bit "meh.." Not IMpotent (huhuhuh), but.. I think I always describe it as .. The buzz kind of lacked personality.. ?

I'm excited to grow it again, though, as I get another crack at her. :D

This'll be the first time I'm growing the Goat and the Blue Satellite.. Not too jazzed about the BS either - not even a faint berry stink to it. Sad panda

I've got lots of beans I'm itchin' to pop, but I never thought I'd bitch about being "allowed" to have "only" 12 plants. Grumble.

What's on tap? Lemme see..

Mandala Hashberry
HOL Rotten Banana
HOL Happy Valley
Gunk (N. Cali Goo x Deep Chunk)
Old Grandad (I can't WAIT to get this gal back in my garden!)
Insane Banana Kush crosses (3 or 4 different crosses)
More Blue Satellite 2.2s

:dunno:

Hey ya Silver - question - what's the issue you say you are having with Chem D??

Golden Goat is a real special plant - has a taste like no other - kinda hard not to like her. She'll leave a taste imprint on your brain for sure...

I'm always lurking, bro!

Hey ya Silver - question - what's the issue you say you are having with Chem D??

That is actually a good question.

Visually, there appears to be nothing "wrong," in the "oh shit" sense. Looks good'n green'n healthy .. But comparatively, vs the other two with which she was thrown in (different varieties, mind you), .. She's definitely, definitely, definitely underperforming.

In terms of size, resin production, and overall vigor.

More than anything, I'm kind of pleasantly amused and disappointed-yet-but-bummed, .. Just like, .. "Hmm. So that's ChemD, eh? Ha! Can't be. I wonder what I did. Ha!"

Golden Goat is a real special plant - has a taste like no other - kinda hard not to like her. She'll leave a taste imprint on your brain for sure...

I'm super thankful to have been gifted this one.. Since day 15 or so, she's just had this super duper lemon zest stink..

I like the way you say that - the taste imprint on the brain, .. A few have done that for me in my life.. Lemme see:

Blueberry: Duh

Juicy Fruit: Amazing fruit taste, literally like the gum

Sensi Star: Straight musky funk

Goat: TBD :tiphat:

I'm always lurking, bro!

Thanks frank! I've been seeing some of the stank bros genes in full swing -- I'd love to grab & run some of those.. (The Digi is particularly attractive, especially since this BS 2.2 I have cookin' now seems to be a dud).. But the truth is that I already have more beans to pop than I do seats at the party. :(

..what's up on the NSPB?! Would sure make this mixin' and recyclin' a whole lot easier, one bag vs. many.. :D

;)
