ok i added the ledgrow.eu grow. i'm calling the guy bonsai, since that is part of his email addy...

i already had his Setup 9 grow in my list... the guy is killing it and is also now selling his arrays. i'm gonna add those to my LED Retailers thread...

I have to confess GP :) I love because of this entire job u have done here and all the information provided by others sometimes a little bit streched (mean the stats not always properly dried matter) but I really much apreciate it because I noticed that there is no bigger diference between DIY ledlight and provided by manufacturers.. soo afterwards im going with DIY cause it seems to be good fun and I always loved lego technic bricks so it will be my cup of tea tho

Bonsai guy convinced me after website with all the parts needed to built your OWN ONE is awsome! Im very thankful because it will help me save a lot of money.

---------------------------------

And one more question to u guys :) i want to pick the best efficient leds possible to get
it might be a stupid question but 5W diodes means newer technology of leds or this is
just a power and thats all. Cause i found also 10 and 18W led diodes but they are only in
white color but they look way more advanced than 3W ones. Sorry if this is a spam but
i think this is the best place to ask that question.

I totaly agree with you GS ! I had so much fun building my DIY LED pannels. I am now using the third version of my pannel (282W) and I am very satisfied with the results. All that late night hours spent to put together my device always bring me nice memories and when I light up a joint and deeply inhale the first smoke I am more and more convinced that the LED pannel project was a succes story.

And by the way, a used only cheap LEDs ( Epistar and Bridgelux) , both 1W and 3W from the Ebay. In the future I will consider also using 10W matrix LEDs (actually 9x1W array) which provide more intense light and deeper penetration. The ideea of using reflectors instead of lenses to colimate the light beam in 90,60 or 45 degrees (as the 'bonsai' guy does on his last version of DIY LED pannel) seems to be the perfect way to get more light focused on the plants.

I don't want to be considered spam but I can give you a hint about the 10W led arrays. PM me you are interested in more details.

Soo continuuing my research!!!

ATEMPT #1 to built my own kinda EVOLED - 90 :) 3Wdiodes

---------------------------------------------------------------------

48$ 1.4" x 48" Aluminum Heatsink for 24 LEDs

36$ 24 x 60" lenses (1,5$ each)

48$ = 12 red
20$ = 5 orange
18$ = 5 blue
11$ = 2 green
97$ <ledstogether

68$/32$ 2x dimmable/non dimmable driver

4.50$ 30 pieces of precut wire
5.50$ thermal grease
------
258$ + probably few more dollars if u want to set it in nice coverage

and another thing >>>

if u buy already premade setkits $365.00 some premium stuff
http://www.rapidled.com/48-ultra-premium-led-diy-kit-with-dimmable-drivers/

so from this one kit u can build at least 2 of them i have calculated above ><
a little bit weird... only one thing u need to add is a heatsink = 451$

451$ / 2 = 225$ per a lamp 72W

I am seeing first hand that nutes play a part in G/W. I am running three different systems, all using DM Gold full line for ~ 2 years.

Based on netprophet's results, I ordered a sample of Hydroponic- Research's VEG + BLOOM. Started in one system: it took about 5 days to really take off (bigger fatter buds + ~ 5xs the trich production), same with the second system. Yesterday I started using it in the 3rd system

Hi Petflora we meet again man :)

Dont have any weight here but i do have some pics of some dank Bagseed clones grown out under 1x240 and 1x500 blackstars.

Pics are of 2 pheno's one is sat dom other is more indica dom, both are very good medicine, some closeups might show strands of dust, nothing i can do when growing in a carpet room :(

Peace to all and happy growing

Another thing often overlooking in the G/W parameter is the number and size of plants and number of bud sites they develop

I am growing 3 F1s from my own cross. 2 are expressing small cola size genetics, with minimal small side branching. One is ~ 14" the other ~ 22".

The third plant is sat dom, over 5ft and ~ 4ft diameter; with ~ 10 @ 10"-12" side branches. 2-3 of these side branches will equal the total plant yield of the other 2.

in addition to plant size and number of bud sites is the length of time to flower. i am pretty sure there are some formula's out there compute flowering time, but i am not sure about plant size...

oh well, i didn't wanna make this thread that complex... the desired result of the thread was to prove to the growing community that LED's are here now and a viable option, albeit more expensive. i read a lot about when the technology develops further, blah, blah, blah... the truth is technology will advance and prices will some day come down. In the mean time, those that can afford LED's could be taking advantage of today's technology... :2cents:

from wiki:

"The development of LED technology has caused their efficiency and light output to rise exponentially, with a doubling occurring about every 36 months since the 1960s, in a way similar to Moore's law. The advances are in general attributed to the parallel development of other semiconductor technologies and advances in optics and material science. This trend is called Haitz's law after Dr. Roland Haitz.[27]"

so does that mean in 36 months we'll all be getting 2gpw? no, but it means that the technology is advancing rapidly. LED's have gotten a bad wrap from the HID people who hang on to old data. I think it's because their bulbs rarely see any improvement and their equipment is nearly topped out they tend to assume led's have done so as well.

LED is a competitive market that continues to push the technology forward, whereas the light bulb market is being phased out--spending money researching in that area might not be so wise, especially if manufacturers already have a bulb design that works. Once incandescent bulbs become phased out in the U.S. I suspect that bulb prices will rise to offset their losses.

This is my first grow using a led

I dont know what to really expect but im hoping it does as good as i hear they do

I have a Dinafem Auto Cheese under it right now , she is 28 days today but she seems to be a lot shorter then what i thought it might be

I dont know if its because of the led that is making it short but im just hoping i still get a decent yield from her

I got a little over 1/2 zip from my snowryder auto but she was under a 150 hps , im hoping this led will do better

I should be able to post the results from my grow soon. The video is up and you can see a few pics every week in my thread. Came out pretty good.

I am about to do a LED grow show or two myself using Field Marshall Seeds and can't wait to see how the yields are! Great thread my man!

403 g Sour Kush under a Black Dog Platinum Xl 710 real watts, hydro ebb/flow on a 3x3 tray with about a 4x5 canopy.

Stay tuned for a Blueberry grow show with the PXL, Pretty sure I can beat 1 gpw with that strain

.57 gpw gets you on the list, just barely...

look forward to more and bigger grows from you :tiphat:
