i don't think i have ever given out a neg rep. there has been stuff that deserved it, but the mods are there so why bother with it if the person is going to be banned in the next 5 minutes?

if i don't agree with someone i will try to state my case without using the K- feature and without calling them names ....... that does not apply to the folks who are actually posting stuff that pisses off every grower that reads it (for those guys i come out of the basement, throw on the sweaty wife beater and fire away in open forum).

they should have a "sarcasm alert" smiley so when we are posting we can let everyone know it's a joke. that smiley should be right next to the 2 cents one ........ i think they would be used together a lot.

I believe that would go a long way towards keeping the "lost in translation" effect between face to face and text.

I know that my humor is just off the radar sometimes in person, and likely happens in text as well. Maybe I should just use the regular smilies more.
It's unsettling to offend, when it isn't your intention.

I think I've suggested this before, but perhaps we should start *enclosing* the sarcasm within asterisks? Like we do with "quotes"...

Now this is from my very vague recollection of very basic LATIN...ah yes that good old Roman language we so enjoy.

SO IF NEG REPS WERE GIVEN OUT MANY YEARS AGO...IT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE SOUNDED LIKE THE ABOVE!

I learned French and German as well.....but for some hair brained reason....I still remember LATIN.....you know it makes sense.

You forgot to add the part where you just sent in a reported post about BB because you didn't like that "he saves his negative rep for racists". There's nothing wrong with giving neg rep to someone that has a "soft spot" for racists...... We have zero tolerance for that on this site.....

It had nothing to do with BB personally not approving of posted Racist comments. It is the fact that BB is a moderator. Moderators are supposed to moderate by editing or deleting posts. Moderators should not post their personal beliefs or opinions under the title of moderator. Any personal comments by a moderator to others should be done by PM. Moderators should be mature enough to resist the desire to post personal opinions in post under the name of moderator. Any comments from a Moderator towards a posters behavior should be done by PM. A moderator should not chastise a poster in the threads even if that person makes racist comments/ He should just delete the post and send an PM to the posters stating why the post was removed. Posts should not be removed or edited unless they are a direct violation of specific Forum posting guidelines. If a moderator wants to post anything he should post under another title than Moderator. A moderator chastising any poster under the title of Moderator is an abuse of power. Posting growing information under the title of moderator is improper as it tends to give a false sense of credibility to the moderator where in fact moderators do not have to be knowledgeable about growing pot or about politics etc to have their jobs. They should operate in the background not publicly within the threads.

Reserving your neg reps for just racists is discrimination. Discrimination is no better than racism. And as BB gave me a bad rep it just go to show his credibility is in question as he stated he reserved his bad reps for racists. I am not racists I simply just do not want to here the Moderators or Administrators personal opinions about anything including racists or reacism. Like I before wrote Moderators should only edit and delete and should make all comments by PM or under a different user name.

Moderators are simply housekeepers not moral gurus or power figures. They are just workers not authorities, and they are not the parents of posters given the job to chastise posters as if the posters are children.

Check again. If you can see a 'helpful' rating in "My IC', it's positive. 'Unhelpful' ratings are anonymous.

Gray rep buttons come from new members with fewer rep points... they're not negative.
