*** Disclaimer *** This thread was done in the spirit of fun and showing general paths back to the landraces responsible for each strain. All information was gathered from online resources and cannot be verified for it's accuracy ***


First off, I know little about genetics, breeding etc... Sure I've made
seeds and grown some out, but really know very litte.

With that said, I've been looking at seeds and genetics of said seeds and anyway SweetTooth seems to be one helluva a project.

If what I found is correct, SweetTooth is Grapefruit x Blueberry.

And Grapefruit is Northern Lights, Skunk #1 and Afghani
Northern Lights is believed to be Afghani x Thai backcrossed to Afghani.
Skunk #1 is Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold.
Afghani, Thai, Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold are all landraces.
So the lineage on the Grapefruit side is Afghani, Thai, Mexican (Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold).

On the other side of the equation is Blueberry.

Blueberry is Oregon Purple Thai x Highland Thai(Juicy Fruit) x Afghani.
Oregon Purple Thai is Chocolate Thai x Oaxacan Gold.
Highland Thai is Thai x Afghani.
Chocolate Thai is said to possibly be Thai x Skunk.
Skunk is Afghani and Acapulco Gold.
Thai, Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Oaxacan Gold are all landraces.
So the basis of the Blueberry is Thai, Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Oaxacan.

And finally, the whole package of genetics needed to create SweetTooth.

Thai, Afghani and Mexican (Acapulco Gold, Columbian Gold and Oaxacan Gold).

So the strain is from some BAD ASS sativa's and 1 BAD ASS indica.

This one HELLUVA of FAMILY TREE !!!

Very interesting how the mother and father had almost the same exact landraces in them (with the exception of Oaxacan Gold in the Blueberry and the Columbian Gold in the Grapefruit). So based on the breeders paths on either side genetics where chosen and manipulated to create two different strains. However, I guess this can be said for all strains, as they all did come from a limited number of landraces to start with... breeder chosen genetics being the differences.

Interesting ,but theres a lot more than genetics behind Sweet tooth.If you really wanted to narrow it down ,Find out who"s genetics were used.We know sol and dj ,who else can be added?

Then make it a little more detailed and Include#'s 1.1,2,3,4

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think DJShort used anything other than first generation landrace genetics. OPT is just Chocolate Thai and Oaxaca. No skunk.

Hhmm your disinterest in names/genetics disturbs me. So you could smoke some amazing shit from a random person and when he tries to tell you the name you go "I DONT CARE" then later when you try acquire the same weed you have to be like "aah well it tastes fruity aaah and smelled aaah ...fuck i dont know what its called so now i cant buy the seeds herp a derp"

Bubblegum is believed to be Big Skunk x NL #5.

And Big Skunk is (Afghani x Acapulco Gold) x (Afghani X Skunk #1)
Skunk #1 is Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold.
Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold are all landraces.
So the lineage on the Big Skunk side is Afghani and Mexican (Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold).

On the other side of the equation is Northern Lights #5.

Northern Lights #5 is, best guess, an Afghani and Thai mix backcrossed to Afghani for more indica traits.
Thai and Afghani are landraces, so the basis of the NL #5 is Thai and Afghani.

And finally, the whole package of genetics needed to create Bubblegum.

Thai, Afghani and Mexican (Acapulco Gold and Columbian Gold).

i understand and this particular breeder is White Label from what i've read. i guess i should have tried to be more specific.

all i was doing in this thread is having a little fun and trying to get strains reduced to their lowest common denominators, the landraces.

Its great to know genetics on strains grown .The only reason I asked about the BG is i Love paridises Ice cream wich is a bubblegum crossed with the "esmeralda "white widow cut.Luc dosnt give out info so it could be that.

well first off, i'm not trying to argue.

understand and discuss, but not argue.

secondly, my statement was about the Sweet Tooth, yet you attribute it to Bubblegum.

and thirdly, i can agree with you that the bubblegum lineage is questionable at best...

All I know is it's definitely unique, not the strongest or biggest or bestest but it's special in it's effects and a beautiful fun plant to grow. It lights up any growroom with good grapefruity positive vibes.

agree, a lot of the strains that we grow are strongly influenced by those four, which i have no problem with. all great strains which i have had the opportunity to sample over about a 10 yr period in the 70's and 80's.

but since that will clearly be the trend maybe some people will post more exotic blends..
