Great.
Sorry Dag.
You just been telling me (and others) HOW to do things, since this shit started 50 pages ago.
It feels condescending reading your Haiku.

If you have any REAL lobbying efforts in Cali, by all means, let us know. Or anyone of the other Med States working to develop responsible laws.
But, so far, all you have given us is syallabic ryhmes and hard times.
Let me know what State you hail from and I can point you to a hundred ways YOU'RE fucking up!

P.S. If it weren't for Government Motors, I'd be outta a job.

Just from my first hand dispensary experience... the patients with anxiety are using tinctures with other medicinal herbs in the tincture. The cannabinoids are just part of the medicine. That is well known and goes way back. I'm no herbalist, but some of the herbs/spices I remember are St. Johns wort, ginko, cinnamon, poppy, bunch of other stuff... anyways. The point being that the patients with anxiety are taking tinctures with mixed medicinal herbs. These tinctures are actually certified organic because the maker got his marijuana certified.

You can get a tincture designed by the herbalist for anxiety, or one to make your dick stiffer, whatever ya need, it all depends on the other herbs. Cannabis is just part of the medicine. I use the one for cold/flu because its designed for the immune system.

But most folks are just at the dispensary to buy some bud or hash. The dispensary I worked at has the best tinctures around, so my viewpoint is skewed. The employees are BIG TIME tincture users. We had this chocolate tincture for the employees... it makes you horny ;)

Indeed Thom...I don't wish to express that there are not those (like yourself) out there that know what I speak. But...the vast majority are not as educated or passionate as you...and perhaps myself concerning the use of herbs.

Cannabis is a herb....if peeps are going this alternative route in their health management....I think it is a good idea that they educate themselves and be sincere in what they are intending to accomplish.

The few clubs I've ever been in....sell nothing but Marijuana products...nice pretty young girls educate the patient. If they are selling herbs....where is the herbalist?....where are the other herbs? It is a compassion position....why limit it to just one herb?

You know the answer....and I know the answer....because marijuana is an intoxicant and worth more money.

I'm not saying herbalism is complicated...it's as old as the hills and well documented. Why o why then are these excellent herbs not involved in the compassion and alternative care these clubs offer? Money money money....there is no money in that sort of compassion.

Like I said, the dispensary I worked at was great in terms of non-cannabis herbalism. One of the founders is a certified organic herb farmer, and serious herbalist. This person provides certified organic tinctures, massage oils, and salves, and they are popular. I hope to see this spread, but that partly relies on the patient base. I worked at a dispensary that only accepts organic bud, the patients (young and old) cared greatly about getting what they need to feel normal. This is not typical it seems from my limited experience with other dispensaries. This dispensary also has 3x more concentrates than buds, so they really are one of the better outlets, imo. The lack of traditional herbalism in MMj is not total, but it does dominate.

Nah man....Dag is a good dude....he is just passionate about his position. Game bred....just the way he works it.

I have to second this.

We don't agree on much at all, and we've had our differences out... all in all there is reason deep down in there.

His mind just works like mine... overtime.

His heart is similar :D

Props to that dispensary. There are very talented herbalist in California...my desire is to study under as many as I can. It all starts in the gardens....and in nature.

I am not some healer of others...but I help where i can...mostly practice my passion on myself and mine. It is a conscious way of living....really is becoming an incredible journey. I can honestly say...life changing.

It's about the plants....as simple as that. In our need to control....we've lost our way.

Honestly...I'd not refer Cannabis to someone with anxiety issues...there are much better herbs for that. Cannabis is way misused and mis prescribed...Research herbs..

It could easily take a person with anxiety issues to the wrong place....and like I said for no reason...there are better herbs for anxiety.

word, like valerian(sp?) root for one.

That is a perception....a crazy weed heaven....just a perception. I can give you others if you like. Roll backs...roll forwards...it's been happening since '96. O....it is not a joke....that is another perception....and again...I can give you a counter perception.

that post woulda been real trippy on acid.......but seriously, the general perception of non-cali average citizens is that calis med scene is a joke run by potheads, for purely getting high reasons. lots of people have a hard time giving validity o true medical statements, which is a damn shame.

Not blaming, just saying.

And i will concede to you there....it is pot heads being pot heads lol...not all...but for sure...many. I don't think the stoner stigma will ever dissolve. Just have to roll with it I guess and keep up the chuckles. If it ended tomorrow...it's been a hell of a ride...and I'm glad I was there.

Have you heard about the herb exchange? Pretty cool. It's a clearing house for medicinal herbs.

Here is a list of schools and other herbalism related sites.
http://www.sonomaherbs.org/herbalresourceguide.html

Some other great sites:
Sonoma Herb Association
http://www.sonomaherbs.org/
California native plant society
http://www.cnps.org/

50 pages in... i figure a little off topic herbalism is okay.

Agreed. It's been a blast for me. From the bud tending, to the patient consulting, to the teaching, and the private consultations, the public speaking, to the thousands of free samples from hopeful vendors of every form of medicine possible...

Not to mention helping these sick* people find relief.

*using this term loosely :)

Yeah unfortunately no matter what smokers do, when people hear "grow your own pot for medicine" they think

Very good info. I know of the herb exchange. One thing I would warn peeps...is be very particular about selecting your herbs...some of the bigger retailers have a back log of herbs...as they age they break down....and some cases are sprayed down for bugs/mold...even before the retailer gets them. Fresh or well cured herbs are very important.

I'm pretty much farming my own....and have connections locally for what i can not grow. Yup and I break the rules occasionally by harvesting some herbs on federal land. I don't take much...and I'm careful harvesting what I do...but technically I'm breaking the law. Bad pablos.

I like you dude....you have some good points and good info...props to you.

I'm a collecter of those as well. Actually my 2 are getting older...11 and 7. My last ones for a while...but not my 1st ones.

Like the Old Family Reds....and the Going Lights (Going Light Barney was pretty famous in the day) they used to breed around here. I'm not really into the trends with the Blue/Grays...I prefer the Old Skool lines. The ones that were bred for gameness not beauty....though the Colbys and the Red lines produce fine looking examples of the breed imo. It ain't the size of the dog...it's the heart. No other breed exemplifies that like the American Pit.

Daddy is bleach blonde red nose with a white chest, budreau or something like that. Mom is black colby, with a little white on the toes and chest. She had daddy's face. She was the opposite of game, all love. I started holding her at 2 days old and she never stopped being a lap dog. Until she died a slow painful death from an attack by a "real game" pit. Appreciate them while they are there. They are the best.

What would you all rather try to accomplish--
Getting a Legalization Prop to pass, that actually has a chance at appeasing most of the ppl??
Or try to pass a Prop, that would be very good for us....but really will not get many Mainstream Votes--
You have to ask yourself that, before you can weigh in on what ppl are spending big $$ to try and attain--
A "Little"...is better than "Nothing"--
For those who say that is "Selling Out"...remember, Selling Out, is usually a misnomer for "Making Money"--
Ideals are great..but Reality is Real--:tiphat:

Beautiful dog. Sorry for your loss dude. Mine are extremely spoiled...and have never been rolled. I don't do that....just have them for companionship and to protect the property. I've always had good selecting skills....that's my saving grace. Never had a 1/2 ass dog in my life....and I've had dogs all my life.

I just want to keep my garden homes...bottom line. I fear the death of the home grower....killed off by the lazy man consumer.

as soon as i started reading this, a song popped into my head, and i quote...

You would rather have a Lexus or justice?
A dream or some substance?
A Beamer, a necklace or freedom?
