There's alot more to hockey than Crosby, thats the truth, i just thought it might be nice to have a discussion on the current best player in the nhl..

I guess we shouldn't bring up a discussion about wayne gretzky either.

It's been discussed sooooooooooo many times....let;s have some new discussions, eh?

Like...how many goals Stamkos is going to get against my team tonight lol

alright i have a new topic...and no its not a joke.

are "tough guys" in today's NHL as tough as the "tough guys" in the old NHL?

Sure..........they're just not allowed to be as tough unless they want to be kicked out and or suspended

really KG? i dont think they are. sure coaches now know how to use them better, but the old school guys IMO would stain the ice with these kids.

think about it. name one "enforcer" in todays NHL that Probie wouldnt smash with one hand.

Chara, Boogaard, Parros, few others would be a tough match for anyone, todays guys are huge.

the instigator rule and tie downs changed fighting. Probert was a stripper

McCarty > Probert.

McCarty could take a punch, but come on...

im really trying to go to some lightning games this year. they are playing great lately, and have a 13 game home stand starting today. i really want to see stamkos play live.
im not sure if you guys have this at your local stadiums, but check this deal out...
$25 gets you a $15 300 section seat, plus all you can eat and drink(not beer) until the end of 2nd intermission for all remaining home games. i think thats a great promotion, especially to bring your children. can you imagine your parents taking you to a game, and them saying you can have as many hotdogs, nachos, peanuts, soda, or whatever you want? i grew up pretty poor, so a combination of a hockey game, and all i could eat, it would be a such a great experience.
they also have a guys night out offer, same as all you can eat, but $3 beers, and you get to meet the lightning girls after the game.

i once got a similar experience for a washington nationals baseball game, but it was "diamond club" seats, which were the best seated section. i had front row right behind the away teams batter box, and they were playing san fransisco, and it was one of barry bonds first games back from missing almost the whole season with an injury(2005). the diamond club got us free "vip" parking(it took us 3 minutes to get from the car to our seats, and dc parking was VERY expensive) a pre game buffet with an AWESOME spread(sodas, beers, hotdogs, hamburgers, brisket, pasta, fires, nachos. then, all you can eat and drink, but the kicker was, they take your order from your seat, and bring it to you! that hands down, was the best sporting experience ever.

I wish I lived in Tampa, that is some deal, I'd go to every game.

in Toronto its $12 for a beer, forget the price of the tickets. and then you get to watch the Leafs... oy vey

OK, link number one. its way easy to make it look like you got the better of a guy if you start punching him while hes halfway in the bench.

As for link number two, i stopped watching about 10 seconds in. theres a procedure for a hockey fight. we all know how it goes. when your boy has to chop someones legs out and start swinging before your opponent knows whats going on...somethings rotten in denmark.

i should let you know, you're never gonna win me over on that asshole. i met the man. while he was polite, i could tell his on ice persona wasnt far off. i was also at the game where he stuck his leg out and ruined Roenick's knee. JR never really came back from that.

my point? slap a pair of glasses on the guy and this is all you get.

jeeez, $12 for a beer? thats quite pricey. do they have good attendance there?

there was a pretty good fight yesterday in the phi chi game. they showed some blood that spattered on the glass afterwards:)

what do you all think of forsberg skating with the aves? i'd love to see him play again, as long as he is healthy and can be productive.

lol Good attendance? Us Canucks love our hockey so much Toronto and Ottawa have sell outs most of the year....and the teams suck ;) Oh and we pay $80 for a 300 level seat on top of the $12 beer ;)

We do it out of love and loyalty :D I was at a game last week. My team hasn't won in like 12 games but it was still a sell out and I still had fun :D
