oh for sure that stuff spreads GS , my NLxBB got it real good last time as well the GGXfriesland were pretty much a write-off ...but i ripped down everything bleeched the walls and put up fresh poly and gonna put some fresh genetics in there, hopefully the "virus" dosen't rear its ugly face again..... but i'd have to say that thrips are the Vectors of the virus....kill the thrips and you have a fighting chance.....and stress is also one of the most important factors.....

hey vince... question for you....

had you noticed any abnormal brittleness where the plants' branches meet the main stem/stalk? like when you bend the branch by putting just a little pressure on the end of it and it causes the branch to snap/break off the main stalk. im very curious....

aphids, mites, gnats, thirps.... all vectors for disease....

This is a call to the mods to bring back Wandering Roman!

Now hear me out, I don't know the guy, haven't talked to him before or even interacted. But it's pretty clear that this thread was informative. It was advancing the knowledge of a serious problem, one that will only get worse without more education. In addition, where else was there discourse going on at this level on this issue? Lots of people with great info were coming together and debating the topic.

I agree. WR was banned for being rude???? In my opinion, about 80% of the folks who post here are rude. The guy has valuable information that many of us deperately need. Lift the ban! Jesus Effin' Christ!

Yep, the nodes become very necrotic and brittle, esp. in flower.

Wow
Interesting

Did you also notice any changes in leaf structure or shape of the fan blades ( in vegg or flower)?

Thanks

TNJed...this with the D?

I had the D for awhile and it did exactly as Brutha Greyskull`s pics , but never affected shit..........massive fast veg , huge ass swellin colas done dialed..........

Cal/mag whore but other than that , the mottling on 1 side of the leaves and discoloring/yellowing/bleached look is just genetic IME........

Sorry bout folks havin probs with this virus affecting yield and killin plants , but.......Chem D`s GOT no problems doin what it do with the funky leaf traits........from personal experience over several runs with her from a supposedly "virus free" cut that showed the traits immediately once in the bloom rooms during the stretch............

IOW.....not sure bout this TMV thingy as far as Chem D is concerned , but with other strains/varieties IDK ?....

Peace....DHF........:ying:.......

Oh no, don't tell me plants are infested with STD's just like humans now! We are going to have our male plants start to wear rubbers when we breed!

Yep. In veg. the main thing you notice is the sideways hooking of some leaves, along with yellowing of the hooked leaves. You will also notice what appears to be blistering of affected leaves. You may also notice holes in some affected leaves. In flower is where the monster really comes out. New leaves seem to have almost no chloraphyll, they stay very small, become contorted, and fold up (like they are starved for mg). Bud sites become necrotic, remain small, hard, and seem to be covered with some powdery substance. Any pistils that develop quickly turn black and die.

No, it's showing up in my Death Star (Original Sour Diesel x Sensi Star). When I fought it 3 yrs. ago it hit every plant I brought into my room... AK-47, NYCD x Cotton Candy, White Widow x Power Plant, etc.
I walked around my house yesterday and there is a large bush beside my front porch that appears very sick. It is showing classic TMV signs....hooked, mottled leaves with discoloration and the mosaic pattern. I immediately chopped it and burnt it. Could be a coincidence, but it it seems very suspicious and I'm taking no chances.

from wiki: "When TMV infects a tobacco plant, the virus enters mechanically (for example, through a ruptured plant cell wall) and replicates."

It sounds like it has to make its way into a cell. I have some cuttings trying to root and their leaves curl totally up like you guys pics in the beginning. But others that seem fine. I am gonna start keeping my shears in a jar with alcohol.

I saw several odd growing leaves, but its was DJ's true blueberry, so i thought he always had some weirdness going on lol.

Is this a virus?

Is this a virus?

Hi All, I am having a bit of a cursed season here... Maybe some of you can help me figure out what the hell is going on here..

I (stupidly) got some clones off ********* (crapshoot) of Super Silver Haze. They had this weird mottling and stunted growth. I had a suspicion they had a virus immediately. I shoulda never planted them... but I had no replacements so I gave the a try.

They still look like hell, but now something else has spread through most of the rest of the whole garden.. I've never seen anything like it in 20 years of growing! The fan leaves get this crazy burn spot on one side of the middle blade of the leaf! And it curls, very similar to some of the pics I've seen on this thread but even worse...

I am not sure if it's related to the problem with the SSH's, but it's getting really bad now...

well to be honest not really ..what i did notice was that the stems were kinda weak and floppy .. when i would pull a branch off , it would tear but some of the stems on the GGXFL were a little brittle but nothing abnormal..... yep insects are the vectors indeed......what i did notice by the time one of the plants were practically dead from this stuff was the main stem was pretty yellow i mean i had plants really yellowed out after a good round of flushing but this stem was a weird yellow color...only one plant showed this weird yellowing but besides that nothing else except the viral symptoms......

not only does the enviroment need to be dialed in but the plants need to be relatively stress free.. stress triggers something in the plant to give up its resistance to pathogens and in this case viruses..

hopefully its all behind me ...(knock on wood)

oh btw .its an obvious statment but * infected plants grow MUCH slower than healthy ones and produce An ASTONISHINGLY Less amount of buds*

its kinda hard to determine what exactly is effecting your plants...
whats your feeding schedule? have the plants been stressed out for some reason? stress does funny stuff to our favorite plant...on a outdoor plant also? damm i hope for your sake its not the "virus"...scary stuff....my best suggestion is to finish the crop off the best you can..(by the looks it seems like you have about 4 weeks left in flowering) once their finished fully clean any tools you used in the process .. and start off with a fresh genetic .....

hope this little bit of info helps......best of luck

Heres a pic of my OG. Origonal clone only OG from Nor Cal. Has had splashed, cresent, gritty symptoms for as long as I have owned her. Never seen it show up in the thirty sum odd other strains I have grown out. I clone, cram veg areas and share needles as far as all my plants go (so to speak).

The symptoms are shown in a few leaves on a mother plant. once in a while clones have a splashed leave but usually grow out of it with some calmag and phosphorus (bloom nutes).

She has always had a so so yield and also always wanted tons of calmag and phosphoprus. Which can be said for all true OG genetics.

This plant has been tested and did not screen for TMV.

Easiest way to get TMV is by touching tobacco product without washing hands to enter garden. Beware the blunt rollers!
