gaius,
I'd like to harvest Oct. 31. Not too sure how eager nature will be about that date. We are having an unseasonably dry summer here on the northeastern coastline.

i guess if you can water them as needed the dry weather is to your benefit. should make for less mold danger. i hope we have a hot 5 weeks, would really help my plants to make it worth while, them being so small and all.

Update: Spots 4 and 5

SPOT 5:

As you can see this plant is not looking perfect either. it seems the plant is not getting enough N and is taking it from the older fan leaves. i wasn't too sure, but that's what it seems to look like to me. so i top dressed with a bit more of my npk fert and guano, i hope that does the job and slows down the yellowing. they are in a lot of direct sun so i guess it's possible that they have used what i gave them at planting time.

Great to see a man take this work outdoors, something I quite fancy, but hardly get the weather in the uk to get them to finish without mold problems, but I`m gonna be stupid enough to give it a go. ;-)

You look like you have a nice lil collection going on, here. Some seem a bit pest ridden whereas some are showing no signs of pest attacks. Sorry if you`ve been thru this already, but is that down to area, strain or applied treatments?

Respect bro, Toke ;-)

it's been a fun time re learning stuff i first read about 20 years ago. quite a change growing indoors in automated coco slabs to this type of guerrilla growing.

the screwed up plants are from spot 3, that i even planted them there shows how little prepared i started out. had big dreams of chopping down a few surrounding trees to let more light in, but in the end i just didn't have the heart to kill the needed trees for my 4 plants in this spot. so they struggle along with not enough light, snails and deer nibbling on them. i haven't worked out what those rusty spots mean, but altogether i don't have much hope for spot 3.

this year has been my trail run so to speak, finding the good spots and testing to see if the plants make it through to harvest without being ripped. next year i will start much earlier. speaking of which, it's just a matter of getting the right strain for the climate you are in, lowrider2 is another possibility, as it flowers in less then 2 months from seed being an auto strain. then there are others that other people are doing in cold climes, typhoon is one, my frisian dew is also supposed to be another fast one. i bet esben could give you a few good strain ideas for colder climes.

Mmm, here in the uk it seems to be warm and wet/humid, and bloody cold grey and rainy, you cant tell when, but you know you`re going to experience all of them in a UK summer. We do have the odd few lush summers days thrown in somewhere too, but yeah I`ve been thinking along the lines of an auto flowering strain and hoping for the best. Will keep an eye on this grow, gd luck with it mate.

Cheers, Toke

Don`t worry about N now , the plants now need flower ferts they are beyond the need for N feed . Outdoor plants like those will have most/all large fan leaves yellow off but as that happens the bud will increase , it should not affect the small leaf/secondary . The plants aren`t the biggest ever but they will produce all the bud they can for the size of plant .
The brown spotting looks mostly to be around a hole in the leaf caused by bug damage poss small snail/slug , as long as the plant doe`s not sicken i would not worry . Only do that when you see any problem with the budding .

back at the times of my traveling, i used to use my walking stick to steady the cam..

check out Monopod Hiking Stick/Walking Stick . http://www.tantronics.co.uk it will give you an ideal steady for your cam .

wow G-Man, nice update :good:
Are you going to spray, or rather is there anything out there that you can spray on the plants in spot #1&2 to get the "snails" to stop eating your girls? :yoinks: What a difference between the two spots! #4&5 looks stellar man; packing it on! :tiphat:

Looking really nice G if all go's well you'll be pulling in a few O's of some really sticky buds....Just a tip also now's the time to really pay attention to your paths as everything is dying back so now you'll get to see how good your walking was over the season lol...

Your insprin me to do some stealth gardening next season. What an awesome fiirst time out brother, you should be proud, I am quickly learning outdoor is more difficult than my controlled room. You should have much great herb I am pullin for ya for a smooth finish.

Lookin good gaius! Nobody's going to find those! Nice job blending them in... There are a couple things you can do... Obviously more light is a must... Most of the spots will work, but if you want bigger gals, you have to get an early start in the season, and clear away weeds and overgrowing brush every 2-6 weeks ... Clear all ground weeds and prune back surrounding brush so that the plants get a good boost into the prime light areas... Down low there is no light and it can really slow them down... The choppers and rippers arent out early in the season so its not too big a deal to clear back....

You should be topping or training to promote branching... I recommend topping as early as possible, but wait until the plant has shot up into the good light (about 1-3 ft). Doing these things will improve your yield... Clearing early lets things have time to grow back a little and camoflage the plot for the fall.... Knocking back the brush will allow more air to circulate and will help reduce mold pressure...

Lookin forward to the harvest! Be safe, my friend! :smoke:

maybe the autos are the way to go, although with some research you should be able to find some thing that finishes in time locally. the main thing is not to count on it, as you never know if you'll harvest even 1 bud guerrilla style. i definitely got the bug now and plan to do a bigger project next year.

oops too late, i top dressed both plants in spot 5 last visit, gave them a small amount of npk fert and some guano. hope i didn't over do it. i just felt that plant was yellowing up too fast. we will see, i used organic ferts so the plants will only take it if they can use it.

i hope to go see spot 1 and 2 in the next days, spot 1 should be getting slowly ready for the big day. i also plan to give queeny and her kids some more guano.

Thanks for the BIG update bro

P :smoke:

nice of you dropping by Paddi, i just love what your plants are doing, gives me some thing to aim for next year.

wow G-Man, nice update :good:

you know i wasn't planning to spray them for anything unless i really have to. i guess i'll spread some more snail pellets out at spot 3, but for the rest they are on their own, lol. i already put too much work in to spot 3 for the results i can expect there lol. i have a feeling that area is just shaded too much of the morning and evening for the plants to really prosper.

sure thing, keeping my feet from making paths is the biggest challenge. one instinctively wants to follow the path of least resistance, in area 4 and 5 i have to wade through wild plant growth to my chest. yeah these next 4 weeks are gonna be nerve wrecking, it's getting so close, but all it takes is one bastard stumbling on the plants and all was in vain.

yes i had to learn that lesson too, there are more things to think about, but once they are growing they do look after them selves. specially when yo get regular rains.

i'm also pulling for a good finish, i have been trying not to count on any yield from this adventure, but as time goes on i find it harder and harder not to start counting on some new FD to smoke, lol.

starting to look like they could finish up eh? but there is still time for those damn rippers and other sundry dangers to take a dump on my hopes for new buds to smoke...this is the critical phase, wish me luck.

i'm also looking forward to the next season.

thanks for the comments and good wishes

slowly but surely they are showing some trichomes, but i do hope they will make a lot more as time goes on...went to check on spot 1 and 2 yesterday and some of the plants are now starting to yellow the fan leaves from the bottom up. gave the ones that will be another month a bit more guano.

update

seems i got a cold from getting sweaty climbing to my spot 1 and 2, as it was getting late by the time i left the temps had gone right down, so i must have caught a cold from that, feel really weak today with aching muscles, bummer...

anyway it's looking like 1 plant in Spot 1 will be ready very soon, the trichomes are starting to make nice skunky smells, i'll take my magnifier along in a week or 10 days to check the trichs on the small 1 bud plant.

Spot 2 overview of queeny and her little ones growing in the coco/local earth mix. i gave these guys a feed too, as they looked hungry.

as you can see i added some support stakes to queeny, don't want her getting blown over in the wind. she's really doing well, just a pity my camera battery was getting empty, so i couldn't take enough shots to get some nice ones, but hopefully you will still see the progress they are making. it seems to me that queeny could have used double the earth i gave her. probably wouldn't be yellowing up yet if she had 40lt of earth instead of 20lt of brought in grow earth.

Queenies kids, it doesn't show in the pics but they are starting to show some pink and purple too. i'm still amazed at how well thes two are doing with the minimal prep work i did for them and the late date i planted them.

Hey gaius,

things are looking really nice!!! What's the deal with the purple buds?? Is that genetics or due to the cold?

Looking SICK man!!! Hope you have an awesome harvest, looks like you should!!!
