Anyone catch that city in california which is planning on taxing home growers???? LOL. Yup... neighbors complaining about home growers as they feel it brings down the value of the neighborhood. Yup, prohibitionists who will be in control to tax, regulate and ban as they see fit will most likely offer incentives for people turning in home growers...LOL. Not paying taxes is something you do not want to mess with.... worse than the police raiding your house. Oh and most likely this will carry over into the MMJ 215.

Already discussed and destroyed in this thread, homie.

They are proposing it and in their own proposal think it doesn't have a chance of passing. And in their own proposal think it would be nearly unenforceable.

So why are you whining about it? Voting no on Prop 19 does nothing to stop their proposed legislation.

Vote YES on 19 and then if you happen to live in that particular municipality, vote NO on the taxing home growers initiative.

Simple.

i just have a difficult time sitting quietly while people
bash the conservatives, especially when our government
is currently being run into the toilet by liberal morons who
have absolutely no integrity at all, nor are they qualified
for the job as evidenced by the current state of affairs
in this country.

Both wars that we're losing cost US, the citizens, more than a TWO TRILLION DOLLARS (and counting.) That's 2,000,000,000,000 dollars!

The financial bailout (which was done during the "conservative" control of presidency and congress) cost an additional 700,000,000,000!

Plus interest!

Are you sure it's all Obama's fault?

We should probably take this discussion private, or let it drop entirely. Mods, please mod as you deem appropriate. No wish to violate TOU and lose access to my beloved community. Thank you.

There you go again. You cry about the heat but stay in the kitchen. I don't get it. See Anti's post below. Its not all the Dems fault. Its OUR Fault. we voted them in. WE as a people. More people vote in Iraq then they do here. IN IRAQ!!! Where you risk decapitation and/or carbombs when you vote.

for the first time in history we, as common citizens, have
access to as much information as we care to know and
if we don't educate ourselves and hold our politicians feet
to the fire then we deserve to be treated like the cattle
we will have proven ourselves to be.

SOG

We've had the info. Gore won. APathy still exists on both sides. THat is what will kill our country, not a republican or a democrat. ITs their ability to control the whole sha-bang. How do we stop that, get more people to the polls, who know what they are voting for. You all know about Potential Congressman Greene who live sin his parents basement, hmmm?

Perfect example, Houston Texas, First gay mayor was elected with the support of about 120,000 in the run off.

Thats peanuts, thats not a cross section of the city or the voting block. Educate the people. get them to the polls. have faith in america.

Agreed. Perhaps the grass-roots movement should encourage everyone to check "other" and vote for "FREEDOM" or something. If millions of people did it at once it would send a message. Perhaps others would hear it.

maybe all it takes is for people to participate with some knowledge. Education is the key.

If the Republicans really aremost the ones who want less government in our lives and more personal responsibility, how come Republican politicians come out against Marijuana?
i think that the problem is that we no longer have ANY
politicians telling the truth, they are ALL full of shit!

those that espouse Rebublican ideals aren't real conservatives,
just greedy, power hungry assholes and mj being illegal
is hugely profitable for many industry's in this country.

Seems to me that the party of personal responsibility would understand that (as Clockwork Orange points out) in order for people to make a positive CHOICE they must have the OPTION of making a "negative" choice.

If the negative choices are not on the table, in what sense can your action (choosing the only available legal option) be said to be moral?

Morality exists in the gap between law and anarchy.

I enjoyed your post.

Bill Clinton is and was a LAWYER.

Of course he's a liar. But if you want to be president (or congressman, or governer, or fucking city mayor of any major city) you are going to also be a LAWYER and a LIAR.
my problem is that Clinton was an ADMITTED liar, and
yet he was still elected.

That's why we need a new system. This one is crooked. But the people in power are the crooks and the people who are motivated to change it are largely powerless.

By the time those few have enough power to make the change, they have gotten there by working the system, and they no longer see a NEED to change it. It's doing fine by them, since they started to play by its rules.

Agreed. Perhaps the grass-roots movement should encourage everyone to check "other" and vote for "FREEDOM" or something. If millions of people did it at once it would send a message. Perhaps others would hear it.

Please consider voting yes on Prop 19. I like smoking herb and I am tired of being a criminal simply for liking it.

Thank you.
i really respect that you always give reasoned debate,
even when we disagree you don't come off like an ass,
something i have been guilty of myself sadly.

anyway, i would be voting yes on Prop 19 in a freekin
minute, unfortunately for me, i live in a much more
draconian state.

frankly, if Prop 19 passes i'll be moving back to Cali
soon after.

peace, SOG

Watch what you wish for because you are going to get it and you will give them all the power...LOL.

:fsu:

Like Anti said, all Rancho Cordova is doing is putting an initiative on their local ballots asking for a tax. It may pass it may not, the people will decide. It has NOTHING to do with 19.

Keep it up AL!

Yes, It is MOSTLY Obamas fault...

Yeah, the Iraq war cost less than the stimulus. CBO just said so..
Bush spent 700+ billion on Iraq in 7 years according to the government.

Lets look at what Obama has spent in 18 months:

$1.3 T 2010 budget- Biggest in History -

$816 B stimulus - bought many union votes but fixed nothing except government and they are still in the shit. Left the resty of us holding the bag for the bill with no opportunities for work. In other words EPIC FAIL. This should be criminal.

$400 B omnibus (Thats right all-vehicle, in other words everything they ever wanted to fund, republicans too.. funny most people dont even talk about this huge give away to friends of politicians even though it cost more that half what Iraq cost.)

When you add all the other stuff this rogue congress has jammed down our throats its about 3.? T. in 18 months... How can anyone compare Bush's spending to the incredible spree the dems are on? You have to be drinking lefty koolaid all day long for that kind of reasoning. Thats an ungodly amount to spend with very little results. The bank bailout under Bush was probably the only thing that REALLY needed to be done to stop the crash... after that its pure power grab. We've been raped. We The People are going to show these asshole the door in about 2 months. Repeal is the word. Lesson learned. You can trust dems. even less than repubs.

But you see bush's bailout was the beginning of the end.

How do you stop the Bush bailout? How do you combat all their power and influence?

With the truth; you educate.

Bailing out the banks was the wrong thing to do. If more people could have understand it the way they do know, back then, it would have never happened. WE could still claw back that money but we never will until more people realize what really happened to our country when we let the banks fool us.

Blaming one man or another is what they want from you. Toe your party line no matter what. Thats when they win.
WE win when more of us are educated. When we are too opinionated to be divided simply into two groups. When they are scared of us and what we might do.

When you factor in the 4400+ American lives lost in a lie based war in Iraq IMHO the costs for Bush's actions are much much larger than you claim.

And to get this thread back on topic
Vote Yes on Prop 19.

the bail outs go back to 1913 and the Federal Reserve Act, and this private institution was giving the power to print money and charge the american worker for it, by adding it to the national debt and pretty much enslave the public by creating a federal income tax. there were no taxes on wages before 1913! in 1913 the dollar was just a representation of a certain weight of gold or silver. After 1933 the gold standard was removed and the Federal Reserve had the power of unlimited credit to print as many dollors as they wanted without a deposit of precious metals, completely unchecked by congress or the public. (which we know that when a dollar is printed it makes each dollar in circulation, that much, less valuable; It's called Inflation)

everyone should be able to see that the republicans are wrong for they try and legislate morality. based on religious point of views. no abortion, no drugs, no adultry, ect. and through the morality movement we have millions in prison and millions of others more or less unemployable do to prior convictions.

everyone should be able to see that democrats are wrong for they try and legislate empathy. based on taking care of everyone, no one being left behind, everyone getting equal opportunies, and guns = war and violence. when that just weekens the people, remember natural selection? we are not above this because we are human. and now through this empathy movement we have tons of failing social programs costing tons of money which is always driving up the NAT. debt.

the problem with the parties is they're pointless and designed to distract people from the real issues, while they divide the people and make them easier to conquer. people's liberties have been under assult since the beginning of civilization, and today most people seem complacent and or live in their own little bubble and dont think they've lost any liberties,"thats what the constitution is all about?", and that we can all relax that was history and its over now.

to blindly follow a leader because of what "jersey" he wears is silly but how most people do it i think.

my two cents,
peace

no man, i have no personal animosity toward Mr Obama, he is what he is.

no, it's OUR fault as citizens for not paying enough attention.

and i agree, we should drop it as otherwise it will only
degenerate into argument, not something i'm interested in, lol.

btw, i freely admit that i am capable of being a total ass
in espousing my beliefs and because i am aware, i fight
to control that tendency to be judgemental and derisive.

so if i've offended anyone i apologize, my intent is to
reason, not to argue.

California Marijuana Arrests Remain Near Record Levels in 2009

Cal NORML Release Sept. 1, 2010

According to data from the Bureau of Criminal Statistics, California reported nearly the same number of marijuana arrests in 2009 as in the previous, record year.

In 2009, there were 17,008 felony and 61,164 misdemeanor marijuana arrests, for a total of 78,172. In 2008, there were 17,126 felonies and 61,388 misdemeanors, for a total of 78,514. This was the highest number of arrests since marijuana was decriminalized in 1976.

Arrests for other drugs have been declining. Narcotics (heroin & cocaine) arrests plummeted to 43,956, down 17% since last year. Arrests for dangerous drugs have fallen 33% since 2006.

A bill to make possession of less than one ounce of marijuana an infraction rather than a misdemeanor, SB 1449 by Sen. Mark Leno, is currently headed to the Governor's desk. The bill would result in some 60,000 fewer misdemeanor cases, saving the state millions of dollars in court & prosecution costs.

Dubya, obama, biden, mccain, palin, and yes even hilary. All have no idea what its like to be like the greater (more populous) majority of the country. Yet we get the least say in the government? They in it for what they want and what they think we might be appeased by like a teething infant. We have grown complacent and let these corrupt fools take our constitution, our rights and our government. How? we let them.. we got caught up in materialistic values and made lazy by technological advances applied to the consumer market. We get fed their media slop and we accept it and we call them the pigs? We've grown into a highly educated knowledgeable society thats none too wise about whats really happening. Blame them all you want because at the root of it they are at least partially guilty, before that blame yourself and ourselves your parents your neighbors your extended family. We're all to blame here and change IS in order but you can't expect it from 1 president with a handful of other bickering corrupt leeches. Time to do something for ourselves. I'll stand as others are willing the real question is will we ever stop mirroring the uglier side of ourselves and finally unite to better our own futures not hire someone else to do it for us.

Hang on posted that last one a little late, brb working on next reply with more current relevence.....

Ok continuing on, It's good to hear other substance arrests are down, I just hope that means less people are actually using them. With the rising number of MJ/cannabis cases and arrests rising out there, it should be sending a very clear sign that people want this and are willing to go to great lengths despite how much they try to enforce these laws. The decriminalization bill is nice but its not like if you are caught with an 8th, the cop will just put it back in your pocket. Either way california vote yes on as many freedoms as you can get, which includes 19. I know myself and a few others from the midwest are rooting for ya likely with the rest of the states and not just out of our own selfish concerns.

I just saw this. I read Prop 19 after hearing a lot of negative things from other MMJ patients. I can't afford to buy what I need and can't grow what I need in 25 square feet.

I'm voting NO because the promised exclusions for MMJ patients aren't in the bill.

25 square feet doesn't go very far.
