Hey thats a good question, I'm sure that the population voting no PALES in comparison to those voting YES.

is it that obvious? there are way more smokers then growers. the smokers want it legal, the growers don't.....

even though we have supplied you with your meds, weed for years, you now want to throw us under the bus because we are "greedy".

never ever said it before, never minded the prices, until this bill came up and you decided to jump on the "your greedy" bandwagon....

funny how Richard lee is one of those "greedy" people, yet since he came out with this bill, you would stand in line to suck his dick......

Its a trip how you think your doing good by voting no. Who cares if its taxed. What legal commidity is not? Let's see ....every thing legal has tax and so will herb. I strongly believe people who know business will understand the tax and take it like everyother businessman. There is no other way its going legal with out taxing it. I don't agree but its going down that way weather you like it or not.

Like Grim said... EVERYthing that is not a NECESSITY is taxed (ever hear of sales tax??)... So why shouldn't weed be?

All the growers who don't want it legalized, because it will cut your profits... And because you will have to pay taxes on it... Y'all need to grow up... When you go and buy a cheeseburger at McD's... You pay taxes on that burger... When you buy a pack of cigs, or a bottle of booze... Same thing... So why would you not also expect to pay taxes for weed?

News flash - Your bank account is not more important than the rights of everyone else to pursue happiness.

To sit there and act like people should have to risk going to PRISON - all so you can make a little more money off your crop - is EXTREMELY selfish and narrow-minded.

That's not directed at anyone, specifically... Just a general statement toward those who will be voting to keep it illegal... The greater good (people no longer having their lives ruined - over a little weed) is much more important than your bottom line.

I'm curious what your ethinicity is, your form of employment, and how big your garden is NOW - for all the no voters.

was this question directed at me?
-im standard issue whiteboy american mutt
-what i do for a living is not going to be posted on this forum...though i assure you it has nothing to do with cannabis
-my flower room has 11 plants at various stages(4 are FULLY seeded) three are less then a week into 12s...my veg room has two plants currently and i have a male tent w two girls being sts'd...
----oh wait, are you asking the no voters? or asking me for the sake of the no voters?

I am out of state and I would vote no. If everyone would do their research across the country, not just in cali, you would see that the big companies are completly controlling the way the industry is moving. Unless you have six figures for licensing then you will not be growing in the future. This applies to the entire country not just cali. I think that %99.9 of the people out there can't see the forest for the trees. Everyone just wants it legal so bad that they will take any kind of legalization they can get. You should wait for a better bill. I am small, and I could not grow under the guidlines of this bill. I would have to downsize. Also I will always want to grow my own. So downsizing with as many flavors as i have is not even possible. I think the older you get the more patience you have. I would be interested to do a poll based off of age brackets. I would guess that the older ones would be willing to wait for the right bill. To prove my point, I just spoke with a friend this morning, and to get in compliance with the need of his dispensaries in his state he is setting up a 240k warehouse. I don't know many people with that kind of scratch sitting around. He is one of the lucky ones. Most won't be. Thats just my 2 cents though.

What most people fail to realize, is that with legalization, Cannabis will be at the bottom of the enforcement barrel... Meaning certain things may still not be legal - but cops will be a lot more prone to turn the other way.

Y'know... Jay-Walking is illegal... When was the last time you heard about someone actually being cited for it?

Obviously, at first, it won't be as lenient... But give it time...

Interesting...I like your grows, but nobody in Cali ever supplies my meds. I also fail to realize how more smokers being tossed under the bus is prettier than a few growers missing it. Your facade is weak.

I think you guys really need to see this as a way to do business in 1000 more new avenues. Tourism will skyrocket, a culture will flourish and the centerpoint will remain California. I and a few friends are planning a trip from out of state (WHERE I DON'T GET MEDS OR ANYTHING) just to enjoy the free environment. There's at least 2 grand a head that wouldnt come there at all without legalization.

Perhaps instead of being a glass-half-empty type of crowd, the pessimism should be removed and look at it as a second green rush.

LOL. Wow. This thread is heated... I am voting no.. I will be the first to tell u the reason also.. It will hurt my pocket.. Not the taxes either. I already cover that and then some.. Its the big "Political" companies that I am scared of.. So for growers who grow under the radar and fly low to make there money, that wont change.. Because those fucks will find a way to make it illegal once again.. So they are the only ones profiting.. Really a majority of the people voting yes in my honest opinion are shooting themselves in the foot. Passing this one will hurt much worse in the long run. U will pay more for ur "Medicine".. Watch.. And what happens to the good stuff. The stuff that u love.. We make u pay even more for fuckin it all up..

I dont agree with that I know 1000's of growers all over the world some of them you may know Sam ,T hill, Chimera,Rez. All of these growers have endorsed prop 19. All of us are growers some commercial some not but we all agree voting yes on 19 is what is right to move on now and not wait for any more people getting busted for cultivation you should be very aware of this. You might be OK with a ruined life with a felony on your record I dont want one. When someone coughs up the next 1mil for another prop and its better the 19 are u naive enough to think we would not vote yes on that one. I must remember that you do not want cannabis legal in any form so I will stop here as this means nothing to you.

Great post!

I think those who will be voting no, don't know much about the legal system... And how a drug charge on your record will affect the rest of your life... Say goodbye to ever getting a loan for college... Don't even think about getting a good job (You know - one you can actually support yourself with... I'm not talking shit like McDonald's or Jack In The Box)... Have fun living off minimum wage (or being a criminal) for the rest of your life.

The justice system ruins lives. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how people can look at themselves in the mirror knowing that they're going to vote to continue throwing people in jail, for weed - just so they can make more money off their crops. That shit is seriously selfish/greedy...

I bet if some of you nay-sayers were to get prosecuted - and it were YOU facing jail time - you'd be singing a much different tune.

Again this proves my point about the age difference in supporters. College? What the, so many years ago that I don't want to admit. Jobs? When you are old with experience you can get a job. The system does ruin lives, but this is not the answer. Just wait two more years, and you will have a better bill. That's it, two little years. That is only half of your bachelor's degree right? 2012 will see Nevada, california, oregon, washington, and colorado to vote to legalize. This was the wrong bill, on the wrong year. Richard lee was told not to do it this year. Obviously he did not listen. that is why he has not raised the money that he thought he was going to. All of the big players will be out for 2012. I hope this does not pass. that way there will actually be a sensible bill. All of the finacial heavy hitters are already gearing up for 2012. It will be the year to watch. Not this year.

there is no guarantee there will be a bill in 2012. I have not seen or herd anything about any new bills comming out in 2012 just bullshit heresay. This process is not cheep 1mil+ to get your bill going you got that can of cash to burn I dont. All of the people I mentioned are over 40 and I'm 48 I do believe Tom and Sam are over 50. U have it backwards the young kids are the people rapping the system and being greedy. The older generation actually remembers what cannabis culture means and what it stands for.

Mark my words 2012 is the year. You guys are very behind on your politics. 1 million for a bill is nothing. Wait to see how much money is spent in 2012. It will be amazing. You will look back and see what was wrong with this bill this year. I do stand by the fact that more young people want this bill than older people. It is what it is though. Maybe it will pass. It could be worse right?

u make blanket statement like where behind on our politics wrong I have been following everything about this since its inception. You can stand by your inaccurate facts but the truth is the older gen is behind this bill. There has been 20 threads just like this one and all of the fact have been discussed it detail you guys that are voting no just wont listen to these facts. You tell me whats wrong with that picture. There is absolutely nothing wrong with voting yes on this bill and then voting on a bill that suits more people's needs later if and when that happens. You guys dont care if people are incarcerated you just want what u what and could careless about the people in jail. Im speechless that we have come to a point where we would vote no on anything that move the process forward. I can only hope that people will do the right thing.

So when I look at this pole and the people that vote YES... does that mean you guys think this bill is perfect ? I voted YES BUT WISH I WAS VOTING ON A BETTER BILL . But you people that voted straight YES think this bill is just right and just what you would want with no changes ? wow surprising.
