A lot of No on Prop 19 have stated that they cannot support a poorly written bill. It is not that they are anti legalization but anti bad legislation. I can't vote yes on this prop because I believe it is too restrictive. Since the government wants in on the cannabis economy in CA it seems that the cannabis community should drive a hard bargain while they still have some politicoeconomic power in the matter. I'll hold out for a better prop.

Keep polishing the turd boys. You're doing a damn fine job. Maybe it won't smell like shit either when you step in it.

Hold out for perfection huh Tinkerbell?
Let more people go to jail because this message isn't perfect for you and your pals in Never Never Land.
who's going to pay for it?
The same person who's going to buy you that unicorn you want for Christmas.?

You are now the problem I referred to above and since you propose no better specific solution before Nov. your opinions are now are now marginalized and unworthy of response due to repetitive nonsense emissions.

You want people have to go to jail for what you do too.
That's all a No vote means.

There is no voting line for "a better bill" or a "maybe next time" lever to pull.
I'm in my 40's and never had this chance before.
How many do you think you will get?
Seriously.

A no vote is for more money to the DEA and Police and task forces and legislation to repeal 215 and more.
Nothing else.
No is "I'm with Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin and all the enemies of cannabis rights.

That means you are the enemy.

Rationalize it if you want but that's all it means.
There's only heroes and villains in this fight.
You are a villain and on the wrong side.

I certainly do hope all you No Voters are telling your friends that you want them to go to jail too if they ever get caught.
Your friends, family maybe a girl you care about.
All potential victims of your vote.

It's a shame your going to piss this opportunity away and possibly regret it someday when you realize you chose the wrong side of history.
But you'll lie then and say you voted for it because by then people will think only retarded morons and Jerry Falwell types voted No and restrict freedom.

Or maybe you can try explaining that you thought it just wasn't good enough of a first step because you wanted an ideal Utopian solution to unfold magically all at once.
They will look at you like you're DELUDED.
Because you are.

why vote no when u know these issues can be fixed. Coming out of the gates with a bill like I think u and the other no voters want will never pass then what we keep waiting for an bill that wont pass. Right now we do have a bill that is ready to make history we have never said we like this bill but I can vote yes and work hard to get the bad parts fixed. We will have a bill that allows people to grow and smoke cannabis with out fears. now While we are enjoying these new liberties we all can fix that parts we dont like. IMO this is a much better rout to take instead u want to keep it illegal and hope there is another bill that has the right stuff. It's not going to happen. I would like to know what makes u think something better will happen in 2012 do u have some inside info we dont. Even if there was a Bill being worked on for 2012 it's not going to be what everyone likes it will be another piece of bad legislation. Its never ending and it needs to stop somwhere when will that be 2012?????? probably not. in the mean time more people will be incarcerated for CANNABIS along with other penalties that ruin peoples lives hope and dreams.

Yeah....I can vouch for highgrade.....he's an oldtimer from the Overgrow days who pretty much pioneered the DWC (Deep Water Culture)......method of growing....

he had many excellent posts and quite a following waaay before krusty came about with his bubbling buckets....(DWC).....

....and we all have opinions on Prop 19......your's is as valid as mine....for or against....

...since I am not Californian.....or live/can vote there.....I tend to look at this Prop 19 from a global perspective.....and it looks like a good start to worldwide legalization/normalization of cannabis.....to me.

yeah ive been around quite a bit too...

sorry gyp this is not about valid opinions...

this is about freedom and lies and prohibitionist scum are using lies to stifle freedom. thats not a "difference of opinion. its a difference between good and evil!

make no mistake a vote for continued prohibition is a vote for more cannabis users in prison and if you support that your not a good guy who is wrong you are as evil as the leo you are siding with against us..

this WILL split the movement. WE KNOW WHO SIDES WITH THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TAKEN OUR FREEDOMS!

seriously you people(and i use the term loosely) are standing next to the evil scum that have taken our very homes from us and traded them for 6X6 cells!!!!!!

Blahblahblahblahblah

I have said it many times but the above poster perfectly illustrates this point:

The far right wing are trying desperately to kill this Prop and roll back MJ rights across the country.

you mean s.e.i.u.,boxer,feinstein,the governator, and many more left wing prohibitionist scum have switched into glen beck listeners?

sorry this is not about your petty partisan bullshit..

this is about good and evil.

One of your list is a GOP Gov.
Feinstein is commonly reffered to as a DINO.
Dem in name only

Yes there are Democrats who have stated they are not supporting the bill (because of the right wing challengers like Carly making the election about winning the center) but they are not ACTIVELY WORKING AGAINST it like the list above.

I know a lot of growers/friends (personally) that I'm still working on. They at least are truthful with me, "fuck Tom, I'm worried about me and mine". I get that, I respect that, it's real. Some of these arguments here on the net though, well, they're fucking absurd. -Tom

That would be my stance If I was a Californian, but I'm not, I'm purely looking at this from my own viewpoint... how it could effect me directly and indirectly (ie the future if its a sucess and then implemented elsewhere.).. my view is that of probably a rebel stance still going with the "overgrow the government" mantra, I trust no politicians, theres always an agenda.. maybe its the tax fior their and the economy needs... maybe its to regulate and fine the shit out of people ??? I can't say i'm too up on the prop 19 so should do more reading on it... as always it comes with rules... 1 ounce per person is it? I think it will favour some more than others but just my take on it...

yea the governator is about as republican as airana huffington and bill mahr's illegitimate asshole baby.

and dont be fooled dems and repubs are both prohibitionists.

there are no REAL differences in the parties..but i think we are starting to tread that"line"

my only point was this is not about soapboxing concerning party.
this is to important to compromise over.
and its to important to be turned into some left vs. right bullshit fest.
that is just more divide and distract they have been pulling on us for YEARS!

Effects of the bill
According to the State of California analysis, the bill will have the following effects.[3]

  • May use marijuana in a non-public place such as a residence or a public establishment licensed for on site marijuana consumption.

depends on variables...

if your a "dealer" and are doing your "work" you will probably face the exact same penalties you do now if busted with weight...

are you hiding behind the illness of med patients now?
you can still hide behind us after 19 as well.

I keep reading how if this bill fails it will set back the movement and we will never have another chance to vote for marijuana legalization. Could someone fill me in on why this is true? Is it true? Or is that just to make me feel that this bill is the only option?

this is not fact, it's speculation
there is a fear that if 19 is voted down, anti MJ forces will use this to try to restrict prop 215
idea is they would have some momentum
also, there's the belief this will be Obama's only term, the next president may change the current policy of tolerating MMJ(maybe not tolerating as much)
but there could be quite a delay before the next proposition goes before voters, it's expensive
