how the little bubble cloners workin for ya? it seems everyone is aero cloning these days and not hitting 100%. seems silly to not just keep it simple

I used to see ~70% success rate with the cloners, roots in ~2 weeks. Since switching to Clonex gel, I'm seeing ~99% success rate in 7-10 days.

B-roni, How large is your cabinet? and will it accommodate 12 plants?
My cabinet is 24" deep x 30" wide I plan on starting with 6 plants from seeds and ending up with 2 plants that I will be taking to flower. My last grow was just 2 plants and I don't see how I could have flowered any more than that in my cabinet.

Well its working the way you are doing it. Growing more plants provides more variety though which could be good or bad.

BTW - the Dutch Dragon that I harvested (pics above) weighed in at 116 grams tops when I put it in the jars.

i like your cab gd. I think you actually have more cubic feet in your cab than i do.... my dimensions are width 17.5, height 30" flower area floor to light, depth 27.5"....thats just the flower area. couple differences in our grows that make a big difference....you are growing hydro and im doin hempy...hydro for my cab grows way too fast and big....i need to be able to run a few strains at one time....also...i dunno if you do or dont...... but i dont veg my plants at all...no branches just tops. i dont start seeds just clones. i can actually fit 15 of the 5" square pots you saw in there but gives my intake holes a little trouble so im only runnin 12 max. really no different than growin 16 plants or so on a toughbox in a hydro setup....just gotta lollipop em. why dont you take a mother and do clones in your setup rather than seeds? new genes?

pinecone...nice pull!

simon...never used the gel...heard a lot of people love it..i use rooting powder and H&G roots excelurator in my res.

if yall arent using roots excelurator yet then you should go buy a bottle...best stuff on the market :tiphat: loves it

My first grow was with femalized seeds and I did take a mother:dance013:
My next grow once again is going to be seeds. New genes I will be doing a test grow for Field Marshall Seeds and I will be doing a journal of my grow here.

I'm out to re-invent the meaning of the word Cab. You guys will see. I am not talking about a Taxi either.

IT IS HARD TO FIND A GOOD CABINET!

I am trying to get one made of Melamine, which is a low cost fire resistant material.

I wish someone had a source. Ikea doesn't have much except a corner cabinet which I don't like.

THE CABINET NEEDS DEPTH!

eh Kinesis. i hear ya. thats why i built mine. narrow width but deep. love it. you can buy melamine at Home Depot. then just make it to fit your dimensions :)

my new box

my new box

hey guys i got a guy dropping this off to me from craigs for 40 bucks. It has a drawer. I think if there is no panel between the drawer and cabinet I will have to remove the drawer, hack the faceplate off, use L shaped mounting brackets and make it a fake drawer, seal it with fabric tape or silicone. Or I could make it so that it opens and gives access to a seperate electrical area for my 12v and 8amp PSU as well as the power strip, with a hole drilled thru the back for power. if I make it a fake drawer when you try to open it it wont open, and I now have a taller cab :)

Supposidly it measures 34" tall, 2 feet wide and 18" deep. Just enough to run four 55W PL-L's or a 90W LED. It's a mini alright.

After a week of searching I'm ready to settle on this deal. The only dealbreaker is if the shelf can be removed or not. Hacking a shelf out on top of the drawer fabrication is a lot of extra work. But then again it is $40 with free delivery and I'm saving some cash. I'm going to have someone with a 120mm circular saw clean cut holes on each bottom side for intake and have a blower/scrubber for exhaust out the back. I'll have to cut a small hatch in the backing if the cabinet somehow with a RotoZip tool. I might have to buy one! This is because of the blower design I am attaching the scrubber to the top of:
http://www.nidec.com/fanpdfs/g12c.pdf

I have to cut a small rectangular hole to match the traditional exhaust design on 12v centrifugal blowers.

I'll also have an airstone running on a 12v air pump, and try to get a 12v water pump, and maybe run fogponics.

For a test run I'm going to grow tomatoes :)

hey gd... I dont veg my plants at all....the only veg you could even say is remotely veg is the tewo days i give em when i put em in perlite after they root. as far as trimming branches...i dont really need to trim em cause i dont let em veg.....but if i did have to it would only be the first week in flower. as far as yeild...well im running the 1k in there with House & Garden nutes so i know i can hit an oz a plant but im hoping for two per....gonna also depend on the strain. give ya a little idea of how they are lookin

kinesis...nice cab bro....and for 40 bucks...hell yeah. sounds like you have a solid plan with your design...only thing i will tell you is....you cant use nutes with fogponics...so its really only for cloning and germing. your nutes will clog that shit. also...as far as doin hydro or aero of any kind in there.....know your strain heights and your apparatus height....small cab...hydro...big plants. maybe suggest goin like i do with hempys :). they are just a very stable growing medium and plants still get big but not too big. either way...lookin forward to seein it come together

icough2getoff, that cab rocks. Tell us more about those magnetic locks. I take it the UPS is to keep them shut when the power goes out. What opens the locks? Where do you get locks like that?

icough2getoff, I like that you have the APC Uninterrupted Power Supply. Can it power your whole cab when the power goes out and if so for how long? I'm surprised more cab users don't use them, nice cab design too.

I'd like to know more about the locks, too. Nice cab and grow.

Thanks guys! The APC battery backup is just for the electromagnetic locks, I've never tried to power my 400w and fan, but I doubt it would last very long. I have 2 locks, each one is rated I think around 130lbs. I wired my locks together and run the power cord to a remote power switch, which is then plugged into the battery backup. That way I use a key chain remote to lock/unlock my cab, and if power goes out it remains locked. I ripped out the sound alarm on the battery backup so my cab doesn't chirp if power goes out. It's nice because it keeps those corners of the cab shut so tight they wont budge if someone tried to sneak a peek. I was meaning to wire some locks on the bottom too but my security needs are less now that I'm legal. I think I found everything I needed for my lock setup on ebay.
