Been watching it pretty much for the past 3 hours...seems like they are trying to thread that yellow thing looking like a sled over the leaking pipe.

I reckon the sled has a cutting tool and is towing a hydraulic power pack behind it. The sled looks like it has arms to grip the riser where the cut will be made.

Those ROV pilots are earning their money for sure...my hat's off to them

I just saw the sleds' hydraulic hoses so what I thought was a power pack was actually the business end of the ROV. My bad...

I've been an oilfield diver since 1975 and seen some fancy ROV ops before but what these guys are doing here is unbelievable...

Once the cut is made the riser has to be shifted away from the BOP stack. That'll be a crane move from a mile above with the ROV's helping push the 200' or so of 20" riser pipe. This is gonna be interesting...

I think the ROV split on purpose because the cutting sled has a grip and will be letting her rip soon.

It's called "umbilical management". Damn GOOD management from what I've seen so far...
