I don't like most Sativas....I said it. Bring on my Indicas!!! I'm a medical grower, I have no time for sativas....unless we like, really have some spare time and it's for connoisseuring pleasures only. My patients need physical relief...I'm also a patient, so give me all the Indica you got!!!

With all due respect, you are a med user, that may be why your experiencing those effects. But let me tell you thats not what its all about. Cannabis is not ultimately a medical plant. It is a plant, or a weed.

The fact that we humans use it for its medical benefits, its clothing uses, its paper, its fuel, its plastics.... is by the by. To my knowledge we are the only beings on earth that have receptors for cannabinoids and thc. Please correct me if I am wrong,

Who else is on earth that would be puffing some weed, cannibus, herb, puffage, etc.. That is it you know something dont you??

I am making my tinfoil hat much better and thicker right after i type this.. LMFAO!!!!! doo doo doo dooo dooo dooo.. :D I love this place.. peace n pufs..

I don't see hybrids as diluting sativas, I see them as bringing us the best of both worlds. Many breeders have painstakingly worked to get the best traits of both indica and sativa into some strains. Great examples of this are G13-Haze, Soma's Lavender, DJ Short's Flo and Blueberry, AK-47, and God Bud. These wouldn't be such great strains if it wasn't for BOTH the indica and sativa traits that were bred into them!

SOTF420 I am currently not smoking any as I have grown tired of the local herb. I have no first hand experience growing, unfortunately. But many many, years experience of tokin'. In the past I have tried AK47, white widow, super skunk, skunk #1, cheese and kush amongst many other strains. And I do accept some sativas aren't perfect, for me g13 gave me racy heart, so steer clear of this gene. But I still generally prefer sativas from experience, though I have of course enjoyed indicas, I just can't smoke it everyday like I can sativas, or at least bud with mostly sativa. Personally my favourite is thai bud, but not thai brick that's way too harsh on the lungs! But a thai sativa would be the seed I took to a desert island if I could take only 1. But some of the time I don't know what it is until I try it. So of course I could be wrongly indentifying some strains, but I just relate the smoke to something I have known and smoked before either when travelling or in amsterdam or from a local grower and see how it compares. Hopefully one day I will be able to grow my own and try every strain for a broader opinion of this wonderful herb. I assume you have grown many strains with the freedom you have living in cali? Also I see you like sweet tooth, is that a hybrid? Ahh I see you have replied it is already. Well as you recommend I will be sure to check it out next time I am in amsterdam :D

I think you have some very good intentions here tribe, and you seem like a good soul.
But do us a favor, and do not try to be an expert on the subject of Sativa vs. Indica by any means when you have never even grown a pot plant. It is like a fan at a baseball or football game who seems to have all the answers for the real players actually in the game. It is one thing to watch & enjoy but a completely different thing to do yourself and there is much knowledge to be gained by doing so about what exactly is what and how & why, etc.

Also half the time what you think you are smoking from various shops or friends is not really what you are told it is in the first place. I wish you the best on your journey and encourage you to grow your own cannabis. For the record, skunk #1 and it's other various forms are primarily Afghanica Indica based. Don't bother smoking the Sweet Tooth in Amsterdam because it is most likely that crap of the same name from Barney's not Spice of Life seeds! Peace! ;) :canabis:

Indicas kinda fog my head up a bit , which i guess is ok now and then when i dont need to use it .
I prefer a sativa dominant strain that gives me a clear head to think and stay motivated .

I think theres some folks breeding cannabis with that thought in mind , theres enough tokers enjoying that sativa buzz that i cant see it dying out in a hurry..

I read these forums a lot , it seems the people who were around when the mostly sativa strains were around do prefer that high , i guess you guys would call them old school folk,??

Point taken SOTF420. I do get carried away sometimes. I have tried alot of different ganja, and I have been regularly (daily) smoking, aside the last month or so, for well over ten years. And I would hope that at least some of the local growers, amsterdam shops and people from around the world were telling the truth about what I was smoking. So I'd hope it would be more like someone who at least plays baseball for a local team at the weekends with his mates than just a spectator  But who am I to argue with a grower, until I've grown my own. I guess I have no guarentee of its authenticity. And even then can we really be sure... I'll just leave it at I prefer a head high, rather than a body mong, and whichever strains produces that gets my vote. But anyway it's been a while since I've smoked, I guess I'm just in need of a fatty!! :D

All in good humour. No harm done I hope. :rasta:

p.s. I have some greenhouse seeds in hand so lets hope I will have some more valid views and info to offer to the community soon. Also I never said any of those strains were sativa or indica, incl. skunk #1, just listing some of the strains I've tried. Sorry I see it does seem that way because of my next sentence, I should hit return more. There's no harm in trying out any weed strain to see what its like. And I'll wait until I make a trip to cali, rather than dam, to check out that sweet tooth! Peace, tribe :D

Tribe, I think DJ Short's Blueberry or dominant crossings of it with it's Thai Sativa heritage and old Afghani Indica lines as well would be perfect for you based on what you have said so far. ;)

It's the father of my favorite strain in the world as well, Sweet Tooth. Go figure. :joint:

Haha you really do like that sweet tooth huh :D

Wow, thanks dude, my first ever personal recommendation. I'm chuffed :D Hopefully I will finish my grow cupboard this weekend. I'll order a couple of those blueberry seeds from my local shop tomorrow and definately put them in the grow along with the greenhouse hazes. It's cool that you have a favourite. I'm hoping to find my perfect strain by growing my own too, one strain for all occasions, if its possible... If not then a nice selection will suffice instead. Do you ever breed your own strains?

Oops, hijacked thread a little here, sorry. I'll be off now, carry on lads and ladies... :rasta:

I feel like tribe is the only one understanding fully what I am trying to convey haha. Even if only one person it means it was worth the effort! Also, I laughed out loud at the tinfoin pictures, very amusing.

Personally I need the Sativa for my Morning Wake & Bake to get myself straight because of my broken back and all the hardware in my back it takes me a while to get up energy so when I toke a bowl with a hot cup of coffee I'm good to go.

When I'm home for the night & ready for bed I break out my Indica smoke that helps me sleep all night after toking a few bowls and I'm good to go zzzzZZzzZzz!!!!

I do agree that indicas have ruined it for sativas as far as what growers choose in the western world. I would actually blame that on the Dutch who habitually crossed everything with either Skunk#1, NL#5, or Afghani, to make seed lines out of exotic sativa cuttings that where brought to them. But it was their way of modernizing those strains and making them manageable for the indoor grower. It does suck though, even in a medical state, you find very few people that can truly appreciate and grow a full 14 week haze.

tribe...you were right on brother. These guys on here always use that 'well you have never grown bullshit'... I know people who have never grown and know more about cannabis than me & they have smoked more strains than me (& I have grown since the early 80's.) You don't have to appologize dude. As for SOTF420...you take 100 people and have them smoke Indica all day once then the same with Sativa, they will by leaps and bounds choose Sativa. Around here people are so tired of the Indica crap that they pay good money for. I've had some ask me if it was really weed. It looked and smelled like it but did'nt get them high. Like I said before...Sativa is what you'd call MARIJUANA mmmkay? Indica is what you'd call a subspecies of marijuana that has some medical benefits.

Another interesting point to consider:
Think back to the Anslinger days and all the time before that. I do not believe, to the best of my knowledge, that pot smokers were associated with being lazy, unomtivated and dumb like they are nowadays. I think that a potential reason for this could be the increasingly indica dominant strains in the COMMERCIAL MASS MARKET.

A seperate new issue I wanted to address is that I know it's necessary and economic to grow indica commercially from a pure capitalist viewpoint. If we all had our shit together growers chould charge more (deservingly so) for sativa. Hell, they put in more work to grow them (they are frequently more difficult to grow) waited longer and yielded less with more upfront costs.
