what about 1-Component Soil and Bio 1-Component?? what are they and what would you use them for. Or would I not use them???

I have never used either, but I have a few moms in soil that I'm about to flower. They have just about used up the nutes in their soil so I have to add something. Sense I have all of the boosters/additives for H&G already I was thinking about just grabbing the 1-component soil.

ya man i am wondering, cuz they say that 1 component soil is like the top choice all over europe so I am wondering if using that or soil a&b???????

I'm on a budget and I can only afford to do one so I'm going to call H&G and see if I can get a sample of one then buy the other. That way I can do a more accurate side by side.

So your using coco version RO no cal mag?

I'm using Cocos A&B with tap water and following the chart adjusting as needed and instead of starting BudXL on week 4 I start in week 1 at 1ml then 2ml in week 2 the 3 ect until at 4ml by week 4 and keep it like that all the way to the end of flower... But yea Tap water no RO for me..

Are you changing your res every week like the schedule says? That's a lot of res changes. I have been changing every 2 to 4 weeks. I add aquaflakes every other night to keep the EC in range and then do the additives once a week. What have you been doing?

Yeah friendly man... that schedule is nuts!

H&G is the shit, my local hydro store gave me a full small size sample of every product except the algen extract, works great for me compared to PBP and CNS-17, never used anything else really. I have had some problems with my tap water but I have been using an inline filter with no problems lately.

Anybody know what's up with the algen extract; is it worth it? and how should I use top booster if I'm running a strain 9 weeks?

W

W.P.

good stuff, ppp is a producer but chem is ok and the other not sure about. so that is good stuff bro.
ok that's two sold answers anybody else have experience to share???????
gettin closer to bein sold????
price wise it's no more or less expensive, it's all about quality and quality to me????

Yeah g13d and the m3st3ry killed my harvest was really hoping for four this run.....

Price, this shit takes the cake start around 6 mill a gallon finish at 10 mill per gallon. 110 $ for 2.5 gallon of A&B so total 110$$$ for 5 GALLONS.

Now I got A 'store' that I get at whole sale prices... but they don't carry H&G. It is still cheaper to buy retail H&G then getting the 2.5 gallon (example) fox farm stuff for around 55$. ( FF normally goes around 55$ A gallon in most shops here)

Algen extract? I've used it and it's no different the any other kelp/seaweed product but for the new rate. Now the rate is 1 to 2 ml/gal. I've done runs with and without the Algen and noticed no difference.

So algen extract sounds it's not worth it... and I have heard top booster is not anything amazing/worth spending $ on.

I'm using tap water 7.2ph and 300ppm, I've heard that you should cut your nutes in half if you are using tap water, I'm interested in hearing how people with tap water have done?

I am using some sort of inline filter (a buddy gave it to me, no idea what it is...) I think it takes out chlorine/chloramine and sediment.

I have had problems before with light brownish edges spreading to the whole leaves affecting yield severely...My first thought was too much CA in the tap, hydro store guy thought I was burning them. I don't really use a meter but I have one. Anybody want to share ppm levels at each stage? Not sure how I should adjust for my tap water... I am running dripper stakes 1x a day drain to waste in Canna Terra pro+ with cocos A&B... full additives besides algen extract.

Oh yeah and how much run-off? Running my drips for 2 min. gives me about 3 gallons of run-off with 16 3-gallon pots...

TIA!!!

I use the whole H&G line with tap water. I am lucky tho in the fact that my tap water have very little chlorine/fluoride in it and it comes out of the tap at about 70 ppm. I run about 1300 ppm during flower and 600 or so for veg/clone/mom nutes. It seems to work quite well.. my plants are all lush and bright green shades (depending on strain) and show no signs of nute burn at all. I grow in coco and pretty much follow their nute calculator in their site. http://www.house-garden.us/PrinterFriendly/index.html It works great. I do run the 'aggressive' schedule late in flower stage. Never used the Algen Extract.

I did a soil grow with "Bio 1-Component". late last year and was impressed. In my discussions with the Humboldt Warehouse & H & G guys I was told that this is their "organic' product.

It was easier then their A & B products (no separate products to mix) and the plants responded well to it.

But it did not make much sense to me to use an organic based product only to then use the multizyme, shooting powder et al.

So I just moved on to organic soils.

Here's a email I sent to Humboldt Wholesale asking about H&G products which is pretty interesting ...

"I gotta say THANK YOU GUYS!!! For the sample pack of H&G for coco as it's the best nutrients I've used and I've tried em all except AN and don't believe the hype anyway. Things I'd like to know are so I can keep my buddy from wasting his money when he switches from RockWool to Coco and right now he's with GH 3part + additives. But he's got a neighbor pulling 2.5lbs a 1k and 2lbs a 1k with any strain using AN Sensi A&B and they are watering down all their stuff right now so I don't want him to switch. He's sold on the Humic and Fulvic acids being in the base nutrients. Correct me if I'm wrong BUT didn't Mr .Van De Zwaan create the Canna A&B nutrients which have the humic and fulvic acids in them right? So I'd think the nutrients he branded with the family name would have them yea? It just seems to me there is a lot more in the bottles than what is listed am I right? I'd just like to have a army full of ammo to throw at my buddy cuz I've got friends online that switched from Humboldts Master A&B schedule to H&G and went from 2lbs a light to 2.4lbs a light a the quality is unmatched! Thing is my buddy has been doing this for longer than me but I have the net and constantly read so I've caught up quite a bit in the last year but need more info on the product line I'm using and will be continuing to use from here on out!!! Also is H&G going to put out a product like Bud Candy? My buddy's that were reluctant to try it are in love with the stuff and the custom H&G chart I'm following called for 2 non H&G products. Sweet and Carbo Load which I swapped out for Bud Cnady at 6ml a gal instead of those 2 at 3ml a gal each... Thing is I DON'T like mixing companies as they have been scientifically designed to work with each other so anything new coming from my new FAVORITE company???"

Here's what they said...

"Yes humic and fulvic is in the base nutrients. Van de Zwaan worked as a subcontracting chemist for Biobizz and Canna before he went to work for his families company House and Garden.

Bud XL is more valuable than Bud Candy because it not only has all the carbs, vitamins, extracts, and aminos, but it has a specifically formulated transfer enzyme that transfer carbs from the leaves to the flower sets.

Glad to hear of your success.

Advanced has higher contents of heavy metals (Mercury, Lead, Arsenic, Cadmium, Selenium, etc) than House and Garden; and here in Humboldt County nobody even considers using it because it is all marketing and hype and lower yields, at least what’s been seen in our side-by-side experiments.

Happy gardening!"

AN nutrients are not used by anyone I know. (except on Weeds.lol!) I have absolutely nothing to hold against that brand....just go with what I see. I think it says something when the guys over at AN hype the Roots Accellerateur from H&G instead of just making their own knock off to add to their already obnoxious marketing ploy.

I got more stuff to add .. I asked another question and got this.

"I was planning to follow and tried and true schedule from a friend who likes to start the BudXL in week 1 of 12/12 at 1ml per gal with 8ml A&B 1.1ml RootsEX and the 3ml Sweet and 3ml Carboload... Well I went from my veg mix of 7ml A&B 1.1ml RootsEX 0.4ml Drip Clean 3.5ml MultiZen 1ml BudXL 6ml Bud Candy BUT!!! I found a tiny bit of burn on the tips of my fan leaves, I was thinking the MultiZen that high with all the other stuff made TOO MUCH nutrient availability too fast? I cut everything back a bit like the MultiZen is a 2ml now the Bud Candy 3ml and 6.5ml A&B after I gave a plain watering and it's stopped on the 3 strains it was happening on. I just want to know if it's the Bud Candy and BudXL with the MultiZen that did it? My tap water sits between 50-100ppm any idea?"

They said..
"Bud XL has enzymes that are useful in the last half of flowering. I would never recommend using it anytime during the first half of flowering. Bud XL has all the components of Bud Candy In it plus more nutrients, crucial macromolecules, and enzymes on top of those. Never use Multi Zen at the same time as Bud XL. Following the feed chart might be the best idea until you get used to working with H&G and how it works with this particular strain."

I don't know why they say not to use Multi Zen at the same time as Bud XL cuz I'm doing it right now with no problems although I am running it a bit lighter. I'm just following the chart but tweaked a lil bit and for those following my stuff my mix is as follows for week 2 of flowering also if my run comes out really good I'll make a thread on what I did ect..

Week 1
Cocos A&B 6.5ml
Drip Clean 0.4ml
Roots Excel 1.1ml
Multi Zen 2.5ml
Bud XL 1ml

Week 2
Cocos A&B 7.5ml
Drip Clean 0.4ml
Roots Excel 1.1ml
Multi Zen 2.5ml
Bud XL 2ml

It looks close to what I am running on my 1st week.
7ml of A&B, pH at 6
1.1ml Roots Exc
200ml Bud Candy
and 30ml maxicrop. My water is 50 ppm tap. Finished reservoir was 6.1 pH and 1300 ppm.
I passed on the multi zen this week as to avoid burning them for sure. Next week I'll switch out the Maxicrop for the multizen.
I also did a 2ml/gal foliar spray of Bushmaster with DM Penetrator.
