BigSwifty,
There is a window period for trimming...right after the plant is cut it is still easy to trim..wait a few hours depending on enviro and the turgidity of the plant decreases considerably, thus making it tougher to trim. I like to wait till the plant is about to be put into containers for long cure, so mostly dry and easy to trim.

Orpanic... whens the word of the day!:jump: turgidity.. nice
respect brotha.. I really only use snips for the final clean-up I find that I can move a lot faster with my hands. I'll then go clean up with snips after to give them a finer manicure.

Picked up an 8th that was described to me as being a pure sativa, disp owner told me this is "all the grower grows, full organic, and he really has it dialed in." Sold as SOMA. SOMA is a breeder not a strain, right? I've come to expect lack of knowledge at disps:moon:, and wasn't disappointed at all with the purchase. I only posted this to congratulate the grower, if they're on here.:thank you:

I seriously doubt it was "pure sativa" - it seemed like a nice day smoke but about 2 1/2 hrs in it dropped me into couchlock for another half hour +. I suspect it might be SOMA's SuperSkunk xMaui. I found it strong, euphoric/energetic (until the last) and long lasting.

it was the best jar appeal I've ever found in a disp that wasn't grown by the owners. Beautiful colors, enticing smell, tight well-trimmed buds, all frosty with trichs no kiefing here.

I'd love to find some more; if you're here, any way to know who has your stuff?

Could be a strain I have also run across many years ago. called Soma daywrecker.

I'm pretty sure that would be Rockbud, which also goes by 'Soma', or just 'A+'. The dispensary employee obviously didn't have a clue because the prefix "soma" means "body" and IMO is synonymous with "indica".

If it is Rockbud, and it sounds like it is, it is almost entirely Indica.

The soma daywrecker i came across was a pretty wild strain, unlike an indica I have ever had or seen. But was probably a chem hybrid. The name was accurate, I was walking to class after one hit, made about fifty steps into the quad turned around and went back to my dorm and slept the rest of the day. a real daywrecker!

You think it's the same as the daywrecker diesel aka headband? Wow the chem family line is a pretty inbred mutated freak, so many different variations of virtually the same lines.

cue banjo music..

Testarosta's (sp?) or something like that..they look dangerous

I know, I keep thinking how many times I would snip a finger if my scissors were automated.

@Hoss: A quarter for 5-6 hours worth of trimming? I might be hitting you up on your crew here (if they cut the mustard), that is cheaper than my $20/hr.

In fact, I had a buddy who met a guy who actually runs a trimming business. 15-17$/hr/person and they do the whole fucking thing! I might be giving them a call, too.

Sorry, I misread what you wrote. I thought you were offering them $20 a trim. For $20/hr if they do a shitty job you indeed have some truly lazy friends. I guess I'll consider myself lucky.

Wow...my friends come over for the BBQ, beers and smoke...and, as mentioned before, the fat sack and the finger hash...none have ever asked for money...we just have a lil party...trim the bud, listen to good tunes, enjoy a good time together...

Like other models, those don't get very precise.
You cannot use those to get close to the stem or you will probably cut it. Too expensive compared to classic Fiskars, micro.

Man really? Someone really going to knock this? When you say classic Fiskars, micro I hope you don't mean just a pair of hand trimmers...How does what I linked, even compare to hand cutters..(time wise) this would save you ample time.. plus if you wanted to get nit picky.. you could always fine prune later.. but as a time saver.. how could one put a price on the time you'd save trimming buds with one of these? And you wont have to worry about sacraficing the quality of your buds with those commerical trimmers.. =/

Shit I feel small time now and I have multiple patients. All my herb is hand trimmed and down to the bud at that.... I guess some are either pushing some weight out the door or I am old school timing it. Me and my girl trim it all by hand every last bud, especiallly our head stash. Is this industry taking a turn for the worst or is it just me.? I agree with the marijuana movement but all around me it seems like everyone is in it for a buck? I supply my patients with the best bud I can provide, and they are thankful for it!
Every other grower I run into is all about the percentage they can present their patient with and how quickly they can do it. Is this gift from the govenment coming to an end?? Just a drunken rant, maybe I feel inadequate about growing! ahaha

Kudos to you, then! Hand trimmed with care is the ONLY way to go, in my book. Though I do understand those trimming 100 plants might want something more automatic because trimming is tiring.

Sorry kid....I DO mean CLASSIC HAND-powered Fiskars.
I don't really see how a motorized pair of shears is going to 'speed up' trimming to make it worth it, my hands work just fine. Oh, go over it AGAIN after the motor thing? yea right! That saves me TIME?
