what exactly do you mean by computer skills????? you can do almost everything on a mac that you can do on a pc... even install windows as well as run it through emulation.

Sure I can understand that, but I am a video editing guy so a mac was the obvious choice.The other thing is there are tons of smaller software co out thier. People that make the laser cutters, tshirt machines, pattern cutter, plotters, whatever, they just dont make the software for mac to run those types of machines..

Maybe you're right, but why wouldn't they run under a 64 bit windows install?
And anyhow, you're talking about a real small niche product. I could say the same thing about certain areas where macs fully dominate, such as the pro music scene.
The overwhelming majority of people use their computers for the internet, music, movies etc. The average person doesn't even need a whole lot of power as they're not rendering huge files or even creating stuff with their machine.
