Ill address the fan as I got no idea about lime.

What are you trying to accomplish with the fan?...is this an exhaust? or venting back into the same room.......#1 rule is dont over do the CFMS....I guarantee your air is still being scrubbed, just not as much as as it could do......I have a 747cfm fan on a big can filter & I can barley feel it unless I put my hand right on the filter....then I can feel just slight air movement.....You have to remember how much surface area there is on a filter, which is why they work so good....hope this helps
Ms Weekend, yes I'm attempting to use it as a scrubber, and I'm not venting out to another area, all contained (at least as far as the scrubber goes. My air intake is basically a large circular fan, but the room is not sealed. I guess I expected more suction, but really didn't know what to expect. Plus I'm so used to the smell I don't know if I'd be aboe to tell if it's working. I do feel slight air movement when I put my hand there though. Thanks for the help!

I disagree entirely. #1 rule is you can NEVER over-do CFM's. Cause if ya do; you can always turn it down; you can never turn a fan up.

And when your testing your fan, its hard to tell how your testing it. Are you testing it hooked up as it should be in the room? Are you testing it out in the open? Are you trying to test the sucking or blowing power (That makes a diff too... its better to suck threw your carbon then blow out it). Cause i could take my old 365 dayton and put a lighter where it was pulling air and it wouldnt move a flame. But put a 4" intake on it and put the flame by the intake; oh yea; it'd put it out. Air takes the path of least resistance, so if your doing open air test (no pos or neg pressure) it'll be hard to see anything really being done...

I gotta go to work soon; but search out "ventilation 101" and "How air flows" i think it was... read threw those. One is a simple "how air works" and the other gets hardcore into percentages you'll want to increase fan size and such for carbon scrubbers ect.

P.S. Think we can uhh, UP THE MATURITY IN HERE?!? This is a colorado MEDICINAL fourm... lets represent our state and what we can do with what we've been given. Realize its a fourm... and REP does NOTHING for or against you. Its a stupid click of a button. Grow up, grow weed; and get with it. Catch rep in the real world... does nothing for you here. I know you've all seen the "Arguing on the internet" ad... no matter what; you both are going to still be retarded. Its cool to disagree; but lets not argue...
Thanks for the advice, and yeah I tested it after it was all hooked up.

Word. And also, like you said; if its not a sealed room you wont get much suction. But also, you dont want much suction. You want a SLIGHT neg pressure so air is always pulled into the room; and can never escape without your permission ;)

So as long as your not having air escape; you'll be good; even with very little air pressure (actually allows longer life on the fan too). Cause another rule of thumb is to always have your intake about 10% larger then your exhaust (as far as surface area) to help with that...

Good luck!

I use dolomite lime at 2 tbs per gallon of soil. It seemed like alot at first but i am very content with the results it has given me.

I am planning on doing a scrog my next run instead of a sog. I was planning on using a 4 gal square bucket with a lid on it and turning the bucket on its side and cutting a side off. My head space is limited hence the reasoning for a scrog. I plan to attach the the actual screen to the bucket in order to remove them out of the room to water them. Does anyone have any input on this or a link? Most scrogs i have seen are either in a big room where you are able to water easily or they are hydro, I will be using soil.

TIA

Hey guys; quick question. Im trying to design my cab so i can actually start growing again; but im having trouble deciding if my numbers are right...

I was planning on running dual cool tubes on a 150MH and 250HPS (mother room; Flower); but space constraints are making that hard... along with idk if the "booster" fans would really be enough; even if i split the ventilation and cooling.

So i was wondering... if i run a 250w HPS in a 2x2x3.5 room; how big of a fan would i be looking at for cooling it? Or even with a good fan is it still going to burn the crap outta my lights? heres a pic i reference as to how i want my grow to go... but no records of this guys cab and such could be found... i sux at teh searchin...

But i will be going hempy; maybe even hempy autofeed but idk... we'll see. Im having the hardest time designing my room... but its almost time to buck down and start buying everything!

P.S... anyone think it'd be weird to have a custom 3wx2dx5h hutch type cabinet thinggy in their room? What would you say to someone who asks? Its better then tearing out the shelf in my closet and having to rebuild when i move lol...

pps.. thx to whoever commented with the answer to this. 250cfm ftw. Thanks! So stoaked... only about a week and 2 days till construction starts! well; unless i change ideas again... but at least now the moneys here :D

Sparkey I only have experience with a non air cooled 400w and an air cooled 600w. But I am thinkng you might be ok with one of those inline boosters ( like the ones from home depot ) and some heavy duty computer fans, as well as a fan blowing in the rooms like a oscilating or just a regular desk fan. Give it a whirl with what you got, make sure you do some "dry runs" before you throw any ladies in there. EXPERIMENTATION!

Bobby Stainless, that is an awesome name for that picture! ahahh It is funny how I come up with these shots, and then 3 weeks later actually go through them and find some I love! I love having my own shots as my background on my pc.

AND heres to me to getting my license and all today! FInally! Anyone have any info or links to what you can do outdoors legally?

I saw the dr saturday, I have my paperwork, but not the actual card yet. They said it would take a while to process because they are swamped with everything.

Make sure you follow the directions on how to be legal until you get your card (keep copies of the packet, proof that you mailed it certified, etc.). You'll be waiting at least 4 months for your card.
