Today:

Its one of those days where you just clean, and get organized.

Well, I'm trying something new, and I'm pretty confident this will be safe and effective. I used powdered kool bloom as a PK spike, just a light dosing of 1/2 tsp per gallon. Tomorrow, I will flush for a few hours, and then run PBP.

My formulation is 15ml per gallon + 3ml of cal/mag and some epsoms thats for tomorrow.

Fabbed up a little odor control fan for the veggie closet. I was going to punk out and buy one of those little febreeze units, but there is so little carbon in those units. I found some generic filter media and an old box fan, should work.





Veggies look like this now.





I picked up another 1KW HPS ballast. I might run next grow.. mebby. I have wanted to do a little hand watered coco. See how those things are gonna go.

Thanks Its alot of work starting up. alot of my equipment is DIY
so its double work. Someday when I'm rich, I'll just buy hydro equipment... ..hahahahahah. Not to mention you all have seen how rough it looked when I started.

I love fabricating stuff..

Today:

I did a rez dump and flush You guys would love it, I drop my sump pump in, hook it up to the washing machine drain and go have a cup of coffee, . Turn sump off, and its a flushed rez! NO BUCKETS, NO BULLSHIT best of all no spills!

Plants are looking GREAT after the PK spike

So... I'm running Botanicare PBP @ 1050 PPM @ 5.7 PH.
Additves are Cal-Mag and Epsoms, some Dechlor juice.

This is where I pretty much have to read the plants... PBP is untested by me, so over the next few days I'll be upping the dosage, until I start to see some burn Then back off.
I think 1050 PPM is a good starting point.

Using rez dogs formula in my DWC is a little thin, but they are looking good, had to PH down things a bit. All I gotta do for next time is up the dose a bit.. a 7:10 or 8:11 formula.

Mom looks good in her LED/FLO light.

Alaska Ice seedlings are ok, I lost one.. but thats how things go.

Why is a quiet ballast such an issue?

I have pumps going, multiple fans going. Ballast noise even with another 1KW ballast on is not that bad.

Startup time.. I dont understand why this is an issue.

Seems brighter, isn't a good judge of light output. The digital/hortilux combo isn't recommended, in the 1KW range so I would avoid it for that. I would rather have a high quality bulb than a high output setting.

I have been told to stay away from digital ballast. I'm in the market myself for an hid & am considering the Hydrofarm Powerhouse Ballast which boast a 8 yr warranty on all parts. IDK, I've gotten used to running cfl.

Theres drawbacks to digitals.

Lumatek advises against using hortilux.
You can't use Ceramic Metal Halide.
RFI issues.
Expensive.

LOL, I got a few extra 1kw MH and HPS mag ballasts, if you were in my neck of woods.. bummer..

I actually want to do another aero but the budget is kinda thin right now. And I have plenty of parts to do a flood tray with coco or even drippers on coco.

Rez sprung a leak, I fabbed up a new tank today. Its a wee bit smaller, Last REZ was just too thin. Made some holes for the hoses and wires.

While I was at it, I chopped 2 inches off the stand. So things sit a bit lower.

Remixed to 1200+ PPM. PH 5.8.

Its 3:45 am here, and in a few hours I will be tearing down this grow.

I am very sad right now, all my hard work of setting up from scratch. DIY work, all done on a shoestring budget.. A month of work all GONE.

My partner was caught driving, with a revoked licence, no insurance. AND his passengers had warrants for their arrest for felony drug charges. What makes it worse it that theres a package in the car with enough drugs in it to land somebody in jail for a very long time.

The car is in impound, and if they find that package there's enough METH in there to put those involved away for a LONG time. I dont care if the police is reading this, METH is poision, and needs to be removed from the streets.

Well they let my partner go, ( I think they were after the other two anyways) so he freaks out knowing good and well that now he's on the radar, and now the cops know where he lives and throws out my clones, because he knows that my plant count is high.

Whats worse is that I saw those 2 that got arrested at the spot the other day, I know they were on a buying spree, I was working the garden and he shows up, tossing a 5 grand knot in front of me, saying " Its takes green to make green".

I was PISSED, theres NO FUCKING REASON this asshole should be there, but he's my partners friend.

Anyways, I now have to worry about some random fucker rolling over on us and our micro-grow.

This is all so lame, I just picked up another 1KW ballast the other day, I was going to do so much more..

I think the moral of this story is, partners can really fuck you over with their other dealings.
I warned him time and time again, just be cool, keep a low profile, relax and let me do my thing. but Noooooooooo.. he had to go fuck around. And has completely endangered, me, the grow, and himself.

This sucks.. I'm pissed, I'm scared to even go down there and tear it down.

1) If APD finds that crap, they are gonna come over and tear some shit up, or sieze the equipment. Anyways, those 2 that got caught from what I can tell have big mouths.

2) Somebody is at least 5 grand short, somebody is gonna be PISSED. For my own protection, I'm gonna have to carry.

Yeah, I cannot afford a stay at the graybar motel. Even tho my plant count is low, I'm not risking it.

I'm shut down for now. But I'll have something going on later this year. I think I'm doing the right thing, I would rather take a loss now than loose even bigger later.

Damn sorry to hear about that. I made myself a promise years ago that if/when I grew again, NOBODY would know. If one person knows forget it. Aint worth it. You can only trust yourself. I'm sorry but that's just how I feel. Good luck and you did the right thing.
