What's new

Free e-book site. Just like a Barnes and Noble. Has just about everything.

The website is www.scribd.com Excellent site for literature. when you get to the site Just type in whatever it is you are looking for in the search window on the screen and a list will come up on the left of every book they have. If the book was printed in color then it will come up in color. You do not need to sign up and your computer must be able to read PDF files (Just in case, Adobe has the download that reads PDF files for free if you need it. It is called "Adobe reader" ) .

i have been collecting e books for years. i got so many i can't even read them
all. it would literally take me several lifetimes. i even have e books on subjects
i would never care to read about but i am an information junkie and enjoy collecting
this stuff.

I went there and couldn't even score a latte.......

so much for being like Barnes & Noble anyways.

Yep, been hip to Scribd for a while now, sorry I didn't share it - good one. Among other things there, they have a copy of Schultes' classic "Golden Guide to Hallucinogenic Plants."

Archive.org is another resource that kicks major ass, but it's so huge with so much content (and not all of it of value) that you have to learn how to use Google instead of their own search functions to find specifics. BUT - they have more than e-books there. There's music (for any Deadheads there's a whole section of nothing but), public domain movies ("A Boy & His Dog," anyone?), tons more. Some of the old black & white propaganda films are hilarious and/or frightening.
