Its not a movie per-say, but recently the history channel ran a series call World war II HD. It followed the journals of various service men and a female nurse, in Pacific and Europe. Almost all the footage was rare color stuff.

It takes a bit to get me to shed tears for things happening on the screen, but lots of footage was shown of refugees. One seen shown a little girl, maybe 2-3 years, she was filthy from hiding in a hole while the island was shelled the night before, she was shivering in fear, a soldier is helping her drink from his canteen.
This scene made tears well up uncontrollably every time I saw it, it captured the moment perfectly.

I found my sensitive side a few years ago

Once I experienced a few tragedies, I seem to be a weeping baby at some things

In the words of the GREAT Jimmy Valvano :

If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day.

http://cajunboyinthecity.blogspot.com/2008/12/jim-valvanos-speech-at-1993-espy-awards.html

I included a link to his speach. This one JFK'S and of course the Late Martin Luther King's ALWAYS chokes me up.

For a grown ass man to cry IMO is simply a man that is at ease with himself. The same way a totally straight guy can see a picture of Brad or Leo or even Johnny as say to his wife "I see why the girls like he he's a good looking man."

I have never danced a step in my life and don't know the first thing about it. When my wife and I were in Vegas the last time we went to see the River Dance and I reluctantly went. My wife told me later half way through the show she looked over and there I was with my mouth open crying like a baby at the EXPERIENCE that is River Dance in Vegas.

I've been dead before but it happened VERY QUICKLY. Mr.Valvano knew it was coming day by day hour by hour but he stood fast and shared his story with us all changing a lot of lives in the process as well as JFK and Mr King.

We all can be these kinda people it is in us all. The ability to be able to openly share your feelings without a care of criticism IMHO separates a man from a boy because you could be the smartest, kindest most irresistible person in the world and it's all wasted unless you share it with someone.

this thread dead now?

Off the top of my head and in no particular order :

Good Will Hunting, Saving Private Ryan, and the Band of Brothers series(technically not a movie).

I've also found that the onset of waterworks happens whenever there is emotional music in the background - even if i'm not emotionally involved or interested in the movie at all. Psychoacoustics is an interesting subject..

Christ, all those doggone anti-psychotics are taking their toll. When I was young (and undiagnosed) I was harder than rock. I think I cried once in 25 years. I was the man.

Now I cry if a kid skins his knee in a cartoon. Every doggone movie has a crying moment. The other night we were watching this awful movie called Marley and Me about a family and a dog that got old and had to be put down at the end of the movie. The end of the dog's life was treated with love and dignity and I was crying while I was working on this computer.

I think as you get older you must get softer. Now I don't care who sees me cry and I am at least at peace with the concept of crying when the time is appropriate. Patriotic things are guaranteed to get me balling as I feel so strongly about being an American and being a conservative one at that.

There was something silly on the other night and I was crying. Can't remember what it was. I think I will be completely senile and a total airhead when I hit 65. It would appear the countdown is already starting. ;)

CLICK, when adam sandler is outside hollering at his family, lying on the street. reminds me of when my dad was never there for me growing up so fast, like in the movie.

king kong was a tearjerker for my ex girlfriend, it was sad but i didnt weep like she did, ho boy.

i dont cry per se. just heavy heart id say.

OH EvasiveManeuver got one of mine, as much as i love saving private ryan, band of brothers brought a few tears to my eyes especially at the end of the series when winters is talking about all the men he fought along side, and they humanize the characters to the real men. holy fuck.

Anyone familiar with John Cappellletti. The movie was the true story of John and his family and cancer stricken brother Joey, 'Something for Joey' is the name of the movie, and book. You have to be a football fan to know the name, probably, but the movie and his Heisman winning speech is pretty freakin' sad!
