I wish serious seeds had a vendors forum so we could have a central location to have info about/on Serious Seeds in one spot.

Oh, and some of you need to settle down, put down the keyboard and pick up one of these :joint: or two :joint: :joint:

Hi,
We do have a forum now and we are 4 years old with 2,500 members. And all the info you need to make your Serious grow flawless.

Respect
Claude;)

IMO, female seeds are a great addition to any breeder's product line. I very much doubt they'll be replacing the tried, tested and trusted varieties that Serious are already offering.

I'm using botanicare g/m/b with cal/mag supplement in perlite/vermiculite mixture. She just craves for mag. I feed every watering, staying around 1300 ppm at a 5.8 ph.

I'm guessing they are loosing business. Cause all they hear is "Do you have fem seeds". I believe they are being forced into it to stay competitive (like some have already stated)so... I will be a supporter of Serious nomatterwhat as long as I can still get unfem seeds. -peace-

I personally have no problem with femmed beans if done well, they serve there purpose especially for small growers with little space. The problem i have is with breeders who originally sold these versions in regular seeds that then stock them in femmed only discontinuing the regular beans, as if, as i firmly believe this was gods plant put here for our use reproduced by male /female interaction remove the male and replace with a chemical and its not as nature intended, who knows what problems we are storing up with the gene pool down the road, plus the market is now becoming (flooded if not already)with femmed beans produced by somebody whos just got hold of a cutting or plant from seed of a already well known strain chucked some chemicals at it produced reversed pollen, put it on a female and produces femmed beans and wham bam thank you mam calls them self a breeder when they have never really done any breeding.I am glad of the female bean making procedure dont get me wrong , if youve got a plant (female) that you want to keep the genetics in seed form of but no male then its fine but sooner or later every thing is gonna be female and nothing else, which means more £ for breeders as people who dont have the room to keep cuttings will have to keep buying seeds, which in my experience with femmed in general means less consistency as they are usually sold in packs of 5 or less and trying to find the previous phenos you had and loved but lost is near immpossible with a lot of these modern day femmed only breeders as the plant used has not had the work done on it( i.e stabilized ) in the first place just a quick pollen ( and reversed pollen at that)chucke at it.

Hi Ms Harley,

I see that your PH is really low, in dirt you should not go lower than 6.3. By having a PH that low it is hard for the plant to take mag.
The best PH for dirt to make your plant eat better is 6.5.

Having a growing surface of only 0.36 square meter, fem seeds are of great use to me as it gives me the garantee of female plant. But I can't imagine doing without male either, so I usually throw in part female, part normal seeds.
Having read not long ago praises to Simon for not falling in the fem thing, this thread is surprising to me. Well, as long as one can choose between fem or regular seeds, then it's fine.
The disturbing thing is when lines are released exclusively as female seeds, thus forcing the non-cloning-grower to buy new seeds for every new session. This is Monsanto mentality and nothing else, and it's not a good thing for the plant.

Irie !

I recently remember reading people praising serious seeds about not going down the feminized seeds route....

I got no problem with feminized seeds, i do have a problem with breeders hoarding there males and stopping all production of there regular lines.
Those that do lose me as a customer, even if they grow white buds with blue hairs and drip purple honeyed resin from the leaves.
It's that simple some of you want all females some of us don't regardless of how great they might be.

I still respect serious seeds regardless of there decision to add fems, just for the fact that they don't release some new bullshit Hermi gear every week just because they thought of some cool name they thought there sheeps would drewl over.
If serious denies access in the future to there regular stock and only sells feminized, well then they will lose me as a costumer as well.

Never bought from serious before
Cant stand fem seeds tho
bout 5 years ago drove all the way to toronto canada from chicago il, went to thseeds bought some grapefruit XXX and when i got back they were all full blown hermies.
Was a huge disappointment cuz that was the strain i was looking forward to most.
Never again.

Not saying all breeder's fem seeds are garbage, i just dont have time/money for that crap.

Thank God that they came out with fems! I have been wanting to grow AK47 for a while now, and I do not have the time/room to grow out all seeds...space is a concern! I will be buying these for my next grow.
