yeah Gramps,

that green light can be used anytime ... you should have bought up a couple more... that one green light might not be enough light for you to be able to see and work effectively.

i own a headlamp with green LED lights on it... its super bright and works well for whenever i need to work in the dark...

That's a good idea. I'm going to screw that bulb into the light socket, put one for my back room, and put one of those LED headlamps in my room. That will cover that.

I'm in the process of troubleshooting a few minor light and sound problems. All of the sound problems are gone. You can't hear the operation at all downstairs. I spray foamed in the downstairs ceiling too lol. That stuff makes the best sound deadening. The only way you can hear it is by standing right by the door in the smoking room and know what your are listening for. Very faint hum. I must say this is turning out better than expected.

Amazing space. Amazing craftsmanship. Well thought out and executed. I applaud you sir.

Appreciate the love. That goes for everyone! I learned all this from some books I read and you guys. You have a lot of spare time going through a transplant lol.

Let's see what we have to work with. Here we go! It's OK for me to drink a few beers now. I talked to my doctor about it. Always be honest with your doc. :joint:

I got some finishing work done on the room. The door had some light leaks that were also allowing some sound to escape. That's a no go.

I added door sweeps from home depot around the door on the inside of grow room and some 3/8in door insulation around the frame. This would have been nicer (square wise) had I been able to use a legitimate contractor, but you play the cards you're dealt. Here is a shot from inside the grow room.

No more lights leaks. It's an airlock. Nice!

Well, with the lights off there is still one spot to take care of.

I had a door sweep on the bottom that would have worked awesome had the jack-leg drunks not taken three weeks to put the roof on and let it rain in here so much. The floor is uneven so there were a couple of obvious orange spots visible since the floor sweep couldn't make a seal. I improvised and used this As Seen On TV!! door draft thing. BUT, WAIT THERE'S MORE!! Works really well actually, lol. $9.99 @ Walgreen's. This is my only security concern and clue to the grow. I think I can live with it.

There is very little sound. It's much more faint than I thought it would initially be when I began dialing in the room. I hear the multi-split unit running inside my smoking area (now office, pool table is going to storage. I'm not making this a community area for security reasons). You have to walk up and stand by the door to hear anything. It's a lot better than I thought. I'm diggin' it. :joint:

The residual sound I was hearing downstairs and ever so slightly outside (if you were standing in the right place and listening) was from vibration reverberating in the home. I slept down stairs last night and could hear a significant hum. So here's what I did.

A/C sits on a rubber mat. Here's a better picture of the screwdriver used to kill Murphy's Law the other night. He got....nm

Scrubber sits on a rubber mat.

I put this soon to be replaced Active Air fan on a bag of Coco. I put the bags of Coco in big plastic bags so I can drag them around the room in my more easily. I'm lazy lol. I leave the bags open to let air get in there. I put the circulation fan on a soft leather book for experimental purposes.

It's completely sound dead, now (and I'm anal if you haven't noticed lol). This foam has incredible sound deadening capability. It's sort of studio like. I'm somewhat of an audiophile. I love the sound of properly reproduced music.

I had some light leak issues that I didn't like.

3/8in door insulation around the drying room doors.

Green light going into the dry cure room. These put a perfect amount of light for the room. This is so I can see if I have to walk through the room when the lights are off in flower. This allows me to come and go without having to worry about stressing the plants with light leaks.

Shot doesn't do the room justice.

There was a little light leak from the 6in hole in the wall in the ceiling so I put a 90 duct inside the veg room and this in the shower. Going to see how it works tonight. It should work well. The light wasn't a problem last night when I closed the bathroom door. Going to see how it works tonight. EDIT: I'm going to fabricate some sort of black mesh grill to go over the 90deg bend in the veg room. There is still a tad more light than I want. I don't think it is enough light to effects the plants, but I don't have the experience to bank on so I'm going to really on anal science. Better safe than sorry I guess, right? It's my meds after all.

Yellow Bug light outside so I can keep the insects away and still see. I love these things. They work really, really well.

I know you don't see many pictures of toilets on here, and for good reaso, but this is one is really cool.

Notice the blue/silver flush button on the top. It's a two part flush. One button for #1 and one for #2. It is supposed to save a decent amount of water. I'm big on energy conservation. It's essential for the future. I'm going to do some cost analysis on the room once it is all said and done.

G Moms getting ready for bed.

Happy Holidays all! :tree::pie:

It's been two hours since lights off. I wanted to go checked on the system that I consider limping along.

Checking the veg room

The thermometer I'm using in the veg room has a probe that measures "Outside." I stick it in the cloner to monitor the root zone temp. Works nicely.

Liking that.

The big question is how is the flower room doing? It's really f'ing nasty outside (very damp and nasty) eck. Hate this weather. Lets check on the flower room. I pulled my Oregon "Weather Station" ($40~?) @ Target out of the main flower room.

:smokeit: I'll take that. It's not picking up the remote sensor by the plants which is actually 37% humidity. Going to finish this beer and retire. I don't want to get hopes up because this is all kind of sureal to me too. It's a manifestation of a year's worth of planning, saving, and work. This will be my head stash room for years to come. The room can be completely dislocated from most of the grid now. Long term goals terms is complete self reliance. As a hobby kind of deal. I'm not saying...

But being as off grid and as self sufficient as possible is one of my long term goals.

I added a couple little touch ups today and am just playing with the control knobs and pushing buttons, so to speak. I have to say it's a kick in the pants. I got some more street bud today and it's ok. Marginal at best. I guess you could equate it to taking expired Tylenol for migraines. It's ok though, we march on. :tree:

I added a door sweep to the drying room entrance as there was a tiny bit of light coming out. There is about a 1/2in or so from the floor to the door. This should kill that completely. That should be all of my light concerns taken care of. Test it tonight.

Screwed this register in a bit more. I'm going to get another one for the 6in 90deg on the other side.

Cut a little piece of door sweep and sealed the rest of the door going from the grow room to the smoking room/office. It's completely stealth from the outside except for the goofy draft thing.

great build and all very interesting.

just wondering though what you thought of the cannabibles are they any good ?

I've been meaning to get to this lol. They are good p0rn. Jason can be a little goofy IMHO, but they are good reads if you have nothing else to get. This site has some much sweeter pics. Dirty bathroom mags bascially.

Thanks bro. I can't wait to see what the flowers look like in here. I'm glad I can share this with everyone. We should all be able to grow our own meds. It's time to stop the . I think I mentioned this before, I think we have something good going on this site. Let's rock it out!

I've finalized my ventilation system design. It shouldn't disappoint. I'm thinking sports car engine. Vroom! Vroom!! lol.

This is the idea I'm working with. The "home" ventilation system is going to be ripped out. The current intake is a 10x4 went through a homemade HEPA filter system. I think it is quite restrictive as it is now. I'm going to cut another 10x4. Mount one 8in HEPA filter (x2 total) to each 10x4 intake with 8in inline duct fan to help air get into the pony wall.

This will all probably be rigged up and dialed in by Monday, Tuesday. *Knock on wood*. F' off Murphy. You ain't got no business around here.:joint:

Here is the Phason Fan Controller.

I have the fans and filters incoming. I decided to get this stuff off the internet. Pre-paid card shipped to a safe addy. In fact, this house doesn't hardly exists on any bills or show up anywhere in my records. That goes all the through to how it's registered tax wise. It's about as "black" as you can get.

So that is going to push finishing the ventilation system till the end of next week. Getting some pretty extreme weather for here right now and the room is not stressed at all. I'm still working on the downstairs and have started sleeping here. My heater barley runs at night. I'm really curious to see what the light and water bills are going to look like.

PM me whenever you start getting into it.

Well it's 11:30pm in an attic in the deep south somewhere. It's below freezing and really f'ing nasty outside. Yuck. Yuck. I'm about to hit it and the temp in my office/smoking room is 62deg right now and about 40% humidity. Chilly, but cozy. No need to run the heater really. If I was staying I would put on my hoodie. The grow room is 72deg right now. I would recommend this insulation to anyone building a new house. It's a little expensive, but the energy savings cost will pay itself off in the long run. It definetely works as advertised.

On a side note, this is something I do to keep organzied and remember what the hell I'm doing while I'm smoking all this weed. :smokeit:

I use outlook for my email and it's easy to tab over to the calendar and write notes about what's going on. You can add notes and pictures to each entry. It's an easy way for a stoner to keep track of what he did yesterday. :joint:

Here is a shot of the new growth since the move.

I can't wait to see what these look like. I have no idea what to expect on the yield. It's easy to maintain nomial conditions so far despite the bone chilling cold outside. It could use a little more humidity. I think when I fill it up with plants it should be perfect lol.

Wow! I just smoked one down and read this whole thread from start to finish...very professional. Good to see that everything is running smoothly. Mad respect, this is by FAR the most well planned out and cleanest attic grow I have ever seen. You will soon be rewarded for all your hard work and patience. :joint::watchplant:
