For me, the Bubba, OG and Chem are all about the flavor. My preference is sativa highs, so the high isn't my favorite as it makes me enter the realm of diminishing personality. LOL.

Everyone has different personal tastes. Like Mac vs. PC. Macs have been better since day one, but PC's are good enough and cheap. People prefer good enough and cheap.
Budweiser isnt the number one beer because it's good beer, it's number 1 because it's good enough at the right price.

It comes down to what you want: great? or good enough?

I wouldn't add Rez to the chemdog equation, I'll stick with gear from the original crew who left for greener pastures. I've grown three of his strains and although fun to grow, I was looking for great and I got good enough.

I used to think the clone only strains were hype until I grew and smoked some. Chemd , the White, Old Blueberry, Bubba and OG kush are all great strains. But so is Blueberry sativa, Blueberry, grape crush, sweet tooth, blockhead and so on.

If you follow Tom Hills threads, he'll say that if you really want to find a keeper, you have to grow out at least 100 seeds and pick that one or two that stand out. Elite clones were grown from seeds and stood out. Its rare to find that from a 10 pack.

I have done an open pollination with a 10 pack of blueberry and made SDIBL crosses since I got 9 males and one shitty female. You can literally make 1000 seeds and then grow them out in batches to find that keeper. And the next "elite" will be born.

But it's a bit more involved than chucking pollen and releasing an untested cross after 4 months work at 150 a pop. I've fallen for that shit...once.

Next up... Grape krush f2's to be made and GK x Blueberry Sativa. You can do just as well with a little time and effort. Make your own elite and don't follow the herd.

I assume there is a scent that lends to Bubble Gum. Is that a truthful thing to say about proper Bubba?

just to take the thread even further off topic... my "good enough" pc that i built would put your "better running since day one" mac to shame... that's where mac falls short, i can make my pc better than your mac but you cant make your mac better than my pc.. its all about the custom build

I have yet to try the clone only strains, if there was a way I would be all over it. I have sourced sour diesel from a MMJ state that will be coming for the holidays, I hope it will last the 500+ mile drive. I do however have plans to move first of the year, cant wait. Karma, One Love

Well done. Good basic summarization of the chemdog family. It goes a little deeper, (well, a lot...especially if u include all the quality seeds by ODJ, Rez, etc) but this is the best information out there (i have done quite a bit of research) on the strains that are being discussed in this thread.

it goes deeper by the day, seems everyone has crossed chem with something and most everyone redoes everyone else's crosses. im thinking about making and entire comphrehensive list of all of them, but some people are banned here and some are banned there. i think it would stir up a big pot o' shit so i might not. but i would be kinda helpful for those who must keep up on all things chem. fuck it i'll start it now.

This is such an old, lame, stale argument. If you choose to believe that these strains are made up myths, you probably have not smoked them and certainly have not grown them. Once you have been around the different strains, you can almost SEE and SMELL and FEEL the differences and similarities between them and judge the truth of their creation myth.

absolutely true! you can't help but notice the similarities in chem, sour and og. hell of a good family they got goin on.

Whether or not the above info (copied from a source that the OP does not name) is EXACTLY right, I know from growing out some of these strains that there is much truth to it.

nope. not the real ones.

the real bubba is a blend of chocolate and coffee in my opinion. almost frakenscencey. its a very very smooth smoke with a definately body high. i dont find it too debilitating but i smoke a bowl every 10-15minutes too... becasue i really enjoy smoking. nonetheless the real bubba is very distinct. the buds for the most part will be golf bally. it tastes like it smells. and its not a 'great taste but no effect' thing either... it tastes great AND stones you really nice. and its a joy to burn.

og (the valley og anyways) tastes like lemon jet fuel. just like it smells. instant lung expansion. great taste. and you are fucked up. i know there hasn't been a lot of 'super finite detailed' smoke reports on og. but trust me, the real deal og kush will look amazing, smell amazing, taste as amazing as it smells, and it kicks you in the head/body/legs hard, instantly, so that you feel really good.

I grew for seeds so I'm not in a position to say things about proper final produce..
Colas get dried for harvesting seeds and bud is ground up to harvest the seeds.. You know.. That's not a proper way to dry and cure. So thanks for the reply. All the info I can get will help sort things out later.

To answer your negative rep Sativa Grows, I was responding to your shot at GHS. Where is your grow report with the bad results justifying all this negative BS you spread? Your nevilles haze is what like 3 weeks old? I saw your thread and the only thing you could point out about the GHS gear so far is that it the leaves are asymetrical (and your MNS picture has the same exactly leaf formation). I never could find that SSH comparison thread you've been spouting off about

are you aware that Rez is about to drop a ton of chem family seeds on seedbay? half the strains were announced for november and then some more for december. Sometime in the last week he posted "soon", so if you are trying to get seeds that will actually get you REAL chemdog genetix, you should keep track of the thread:

as far as I know, him and OJD (connoisseur genetics) are the only reputable breeders working with the chemdog lineage and coming up with stable seed lines. some really insane crosses as well.

thus far, I've been running clones (and I have access to just about whatever cuts I desire... just gotta keep on my toes and not miss em when they come thru reputable sources), but if I manage to get my hands on some Rez seeds (though unlike many, i won't be losing sleep while I wait for them to drop), I could see myself running some at a later date.

For the "are these strains a scam" folks in this thread (imagine! on-topic content!!!!) I would say that these strains are most definitely NOT a scam but most of the seeds out there trading on the names: chemdog, OGKush, Bubba, etc ARE total BUNK SCAM BULLSHIT. the only seed companies that are actually offering the real deal are Rez' and OJD's operations.

I dunno where you come from, but here in the place where EVERYBODY grows and MANY grow big, commercially, for a living GHS seeds are a complete joke. No serious opeartor would EVER work with their product... they are all hype and marketing and their product is inconsistent and often unstable. I would trust the MNS Neville's over the GHS any day. That's not to say that you may not find a keeper in a pack of GHS seeds... but don't expect to be getting "Bubba Kush" just cuz those twats say it on a label.
