purple's just looks. They look good, but I've never encountered significant increase in potency as a result of it being purple. It's in ur head man. But it's damn nice to look at.

This thread is awesome!! I have looked at this entire thread about five times and am simply amazed. I would kill to be able to get my mits on some purple Kush, but that is simply not possible here.
I know there has been much debate about the perfect purple strain here, so my question for all you masters of the purple, how can someone that does not have access to clones of purple kush or some other kick ass purp get some beans? I mean can someone reccomend a killer purple strain that is available through a breeder? Beans I can get, but which strain?
I was thinking some of DJ's gear either BB, or GK. But ofcourse potency is the first priority, then pretty.
About fifteen years ago some of the best smoke I ever had was what was called purple skunk(maby named by seller?), it was some of the strongest bud I ever had in the North east, but was about $60 an eighth which was unreal back then in that area. I remember my old boss asking me if I wanted to buy his, he said " I can't smoke this shit" it was very strong bud, it actually stuck to the bottom of the cool whip container he had it in when turned upside down. I am sure someone grew it locally, it came around very rarely. Very sweet/skunky smell and so smooth and expanding in the lungs, the bud was a beautiful purple/green. I would love to find what it was.

I did not read throuh the complete post but I have grown out Chimera's Blueberry X Grapefruit. A nice blend of purple/green at the end of flowering:
This pheno leaned more to the Grapfruit side. Pretty speedy/racy effect.
IMO, effect and aroma is more important than color although its nice when you have the complete package.
