This is a great thread. Does anyone have a recommendation for when to start using molasses on a auto flower? I'm guessing after they sex?

I use Molasses up to harvest but I add FloraKleen by GeneralHydro within the last two weeksish!
And as for the FloraKleen, that's my preference but any leaching agent will work so pick anyone that works best for you or none at all!

Molasses IS a leaching agent because it's basically what FloraKleen is, a sugar.
All Sugars are chelators.

Why buy and use florakleen when it's what you've been basically adding all along?

Just picked up my Brer unsulfphered "Blackstrap" today, and yes there are a few different brands that sell a "blackstrap"....but if you take a look at the ingredients, nothing can match up too the BRER"S brand that i could find!.....from the looks of it as long as you have "Blackstrap" some where's on that label, then you got the right one baby!...there is not much difference in these brands.:joint:

During the warm months my house has a lot of ants. 3 different varieties. I've been using mollasses forever and I've never seen ants in my dirt. Like the other guy said..I've never seen them stuck to the dribble on the side of the jar either. People that are interested should read 3LB's write up on it. I quit trying to tell people about it years ago because I don't enjoy being laughed at. It was a lot of fun to see other people are discovering my grandparents mollasses water cocktail.

I bought molasses - opened it, didn't use it - then the ants came and found it.
Just a couple - I cleaned it completely, put on counter and hours later it had more than a few crawling all over - tossed it and still havnt got to use molasses yet
I'm not sure if I want to risk gettng more ants - hopefully winter time for me

For the price of Molasses, which here is $2.89 for 12 oz's Grandma's Blackstrap or $3.29 for 16 oz's Brer Rabbit's Blackstrap, you just cannot find anything better!

This question was asked early on, and didn't receive a direct answer: Can one use molasses with a "chemical" (inorganic) fertilizer program, and reap the same benefits?

I'm assuming the consensus is molasses during the last few weeks of flowering? Is there any clear flush at all, or molasses right up until the end?

molasses is good with chemical ferts also.

Many chemical ferts like Miracle-gro, Peter's, Schultz, ect.. don't hvae micro nutes like Sodium, Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium.

I use Miracle gro rose food (18-24-16) at 3/4 strength.

Every 3rd watering I use Molasses water.

No problems with nute burn, no mag deficiencies ,like I have dealt with without using molasses water.

I don't know about all ant types, but molasses is a known deterrent for red ants, believe it or not.

I have heard so many different opinions on this, I still don't know what is right.
I have added it to my two plants since going in to flowering but, not every watering.
I just bought a new jar as I ran out already. Cost me $3.50
I believe one thing to look for is to make sure it is UNsulphured.
It's called BRER RABBIT and it contains 290mg (8%) of Potassium, Calcium 10%, Magnesium 20% Iron 15% and only 15g (5%) Sugars.
If you buy the LITE bottle it contains less of the others and more sugar.

foliar spray w/ it @ ph 7.0 too; up 'til week 6 or so.

Are you saying I'm suppose to be spraying this on the buds?
I've been pouring it in the pot when I water !
Should I spray just before the lights go off for the night?
I would be afraid the spray would burn the leaves and buds under the lights?

There's probably more urban myths about the use and application of carbohydrates/sugars (like molasses, agave nectar, et al) than anything else in the cannabis world.

Next year it will be something else. We'll see.
