Julian, met you and had to go for security reasons. Thank you for your inspiration and honesty. You are truly hardcore, respect.

I fuck with the man cos I choose to be free
For those payed to serve just serve warrants on me
For dangerous and downright despicable deeds
Caught in the fields growing weed

I am the alien, the outcast, the spawn
The evil that children will feed on, be warned
I mock religion and government, corporate trash
Who fuck with your head and your life and your stash

Here in the valley the birds sing so sweet
I can forget my hunters and find some relief
Out in the concrete the sun sets fire red
Sky shot with arsenic and lead

Trees beneath pavement that long for the light
Grasses cut down before prime every time
This is the picture, sit in your frame
We'll do the thinking you do as we say

I fuck with the man fuck the man I am me
I choose to abuse those who'd stop me being free
I am the outcast the anarchist I
Swimmer against this shit tide.

Well, I would have my own general overview, but the main issues are when was he picked up, and for what?

Note: As earlier, I have a serious problem with people who dabble in other things having anything whatsoever to do with me and treat it more harshly by the day....

In many cases, Federal guidelines much more reasonable than some states.

Any and all depends on relationship....the truth of the matter being the difference between your perception and actual...

First of all: Take no calls and do not discuss anything specific whatsoever. (depends on the above. Don't blow him off, just keep it casual if calls, and wait till you see him and brush off anything remotely touching on anything....)

Actually, this has happened to me.....

1. depending on when I heard and it happened, if no cameras on site, I would get them as close to entry points as possible, and other things to indicate presence.....

2. I would sit down and talk with them in person....making it social for a while, eventually working to it, and, at that point, would try and assure them.......they have friends....they have people who can help....and try and work the compassionate angle......

I would hope that if they felt the pressure and need to and couldn't handle it they would turn on another source before they would those close to them........those like family (which is, in the end, the epitome of a scumbag.....someone who gives up friends and family...

And would go from there.....

And if possible make it a day by the pool :smoke: (just suit, no shit, no pants, no shoes........:smoke:)

The other issues(s) are, depending on the where, what, and why's.....they might already have you linked as a known associate...

Going back at any time though would depend on overview......ie: If too long after he got cracked?.....No, wouldn't go (for cameras and trip wires and such).....If didn't get a good vibe?........from meetings?...would not, and, would judge it day by day......wait it out...see what developed as far as their behavior, etc.....as earlier in thread...most of the time you can tell...

Always look them dead straight in the eyes and do not waver.........tone....body language.....phrasing, etc...

I'm sure you see.....lot of issues...possibilities....angles........and, all very serious, so........a delicate process....

I wrote but deleted the most recent time this has happened to me.....(currently still in play......best case scenario he is facing maybe 12 in the end.........(actual....12 in, bottom line, best case....)

The above...........all the angles....think it through....be careful.....make a decision and stick to it..(unless something alters position....)

Don't rely on what you think........rely on what you feel...

All depends on relationship.........but, I think very important to assume they did, or feel they might have to, and address the fact that they have friends and family to help, to rely on, that care, and would do anything for them...

(During the above....I once had someone badder then most's nightmare's break down in tears......(He was feeling the pressure......he was leaning towards something....in the end....other options were chosen and he turned out okay......)

(If that conversation never took place....who knows what he could have done.......and to whom.......so, good example of the above (communication...honesty....compassion........assistance......etc.....)

If he would have been cut off, he would have felt abandoned.......maybe scared.....maybe resentment because feeling of abandonment, etc....so......all angles, always important......)

Howdy Julian,
I havent been able to read all pages but many. I have appreciated the read. This is one of the few threads that provide a lot of good basic information for a would be grower.. The new grower should print it out and read it several times.
Kind of you to say.....but, I think best suited to someone experienced and "on the verge".....That first 100K is the hardest....200K......but....once there....I think to someone who read through entire thread, they'd find themselves at 7 figures within 5 years more or less...and legit if they so choose...

Hopefully "numbers" is not what anyone new got out of it.......growing is the easy part.....Having 1MM out there means nothing until your successfully into a business, buildings, etc.....(I'm usually not relaxed until January more or less.....)

I really think, on review, limited benefit unless one has gone through it all....

The scene is so different here in Denmark - for the better and for the worse.
We don't have the same stiff sentences - and you normally can't get a heavily reduced sentence just because you start singing - there is no plea bargain.
Then of course on the other hand outdoors is a bit harder. We're more overpopulated so true wilderness areas are hard to find. Also outdoor bud typically fetches a lousy price compared to indoors so most outdoor growers do it for personal and perhaps sell just enough to afford beer and pizza with their bud:)
Obviously if you find the right locations, truely work your ass off etc. you could perhaps earn some respectable money but it would be damn hard to get rich like that:)

Just put out a very late round of 27 plants that have been vegging for 2 weeks. They're mostly Royal Dane (Supposedly an early and potent strain - quite popular here in dk) and a few unknowns. I think I'm going for seeds this time - already dreaming about next year since I never got around to do much of what I had planned this season:)

Well.........if you do a little research, you might be surprised....

Canada for example opens up the vault door when making deals.....(cash)....as do other countries....lucky US isn't that generous......we'd be fucked...

(Not only that, but, even when they make deals involving cash, good luck collecting.....no shortage of cases people filing suit to collect promised funds and or conditions agreed to....

I'm usually half and half....some things, some spots come out so nice (with right attention, dry, clip, cure, location, etc) they can match indoor....some comes out on low end....
Obviously if you find the right locations, truely work your ass off etc. you could perhaps earn some respectable money but it would be damn hard to get rich like that:)
Damn hard anywhere.......(to pull down serious coin....)

Seems I have spent more time than usual this season explaining to people the very wide gap between standing plants and bagged, cured product :smoke:...(ie: 85% more or less in the end for yield.....)

So you talked to him? (Your guy)......

Is it a serious matter? What does he think? How does he feel? etc....

Listen, the other issue which might help is if they are current, they need harvest also (money, help, attorney, etc), so...this is sometimes something else that can help out...(ie: If they are in on an op, why would they want to give it up, as it's essentially their own money/,money in the bank???)

I'm going to take things now in a different direction for a little while, since something coming under discussion......(will get to it....)

I would strongly suggest all read every word...

Informants

Department of Justice Confidential Informant Guidelines
(Note: DoJ site. Cut and copy link and access at another time. Don't access directly from here , at this second)

Global Drug Enforcement-Practical Investigative Techniques
(About half the book more or less. Author is Ret. DEA SAC)

Informants and Undercover Investigations-A Practical Guide to Law, Policy and Procedure
(Same, about half the book more or less, Author impressive credentials)

The 2 above (and guidelines) are a must read. Period. A little expensive though, but worth every penny.....)

Snitch-Informants, Cooperators, and Corruption of Justice. A general overview, pales in comparison to the above, but, if you have a few extra minutes, always worth the read.

If buying several (which I would recommend and always do), would also include this one , this one.

This is a subject I have been pushing more and more on people lately, lending out books (I always do).

Insulation alone will not necessarily protect you.

It is also the norm (no shortage of cases to be found supporting it) for agencies to pay informants to commit pergury to achieve their objectives.

I would suggest at the very least all read the first 3, which I considered very easy reading due to content........)

(These are supplemental reading though.....one can dig and come across DEA Training manuals, etc, which I always recommend if you have the money, but, can add up...could easily blow $3,000 on a single book order....)

Inside the Informant File is a good quick overview by author of the above.

Should also be noted that the above (Fitzgerald) does defense (now) :smoke:

You're absolutely right there - Denmark passed laws a couple of years ago allowing the police to use civil undercover agents - basically long-term paid informers (and they already did it before those laws - they don't care much about the law when it comes to their own actions anyway). It's mostly used for serious crimes though but still something you do have to worry about if you decide to move in "the circles" instead of just sticking to a single contact.
I was thinking plea bargains would be a stronger incentive than money though, especially if you can really save several years of your sentence. But then again if we're talking heavy drug addicts and people who owe the wrong people money then payment will probably work too.

Marijuana Garden Found With Help of Researcher's Turtle

By Paul Duggan
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, July 31, 2008; 12:23 PM

A Montgomery County man was arrested after a researcher tracking a radio-equipped turtle in Rock Creek Park found the animal standing in a garden of marijuana plants in a remote area of the park, police said today.

Sgt. Robert Lachance of the U.S. Park Police said the researcher, who works for the National Park Service, was tracking a box turtle July 14 when he discovered about 10 marijuana plants growing in a section of the park just south of the Maryland border. The turtle has a radio transmitter attached to its shell, allowing researchers to monitor its movements and visually examine it from time to time.

The researcher notified authorities after finding the plants -- about a pound and a half of marijuana worth roughly $6,500 when sold in smaller amounts on the street, police said. Lachance said investigators covertly watched the marijuana garden until a man showed up to tend to the plants.

Isiah Johnson, 19, of the 2300 block of Washington Avenue in Chevy Chase, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, Lachance said.

You liked those, huh? :smoke:.....Glad to be of help, and, yeah, I agree and think it a very, very interesting subject all should be aware of.....

Yeah, stuff like that....guidelines, operation manuals, etc....I devour that shit..."easy" reading for me....can go through 1000 pages a day.....
See below:
I DIDNT KNOW A CI COULD CONTINUE ENGAGING IN ILLEGAL ACTIVATES...
The above things focus on guidelines and process more than actual day to day, which I figured we might get to:

Look up "Whitey Bulger".....look up "House of Ghosts"......just a couple examples.....(Informants involved in multiple murders while in service...)

(For those unfamiliar with Bulger...best example would be, have you ever seen "The Departed"? :smoke:......)

One will also find no shortage
of cases in which informants and agents conspired to provide completely false testimony for a prosecution.......ie: Say this, say that......say he sold you something...say you met him here, etc.....)

(Which works well for them in far too many cases.....far too many.....only way to combat I would think is if no contact, could have alabi's and such, confirmed for dates and times claimed (although, then, they just change their dates, etc....)

A simple search of "FBI/DEA Informants" will bring up 10's of thousands of cases........

Lately, last couple years, the scam seems to be for property.......ie: You have some property worth several million.........they make up something, they seize it, money for the coffers.......

Now, another thing which is the case, is, technically, as above, guidelines....no.....there is not supposed to be continued criminal activity by CI.....but, there is......

The above is quite disturbing though.....one could theoretically (people have) make a list of people they know, fabricate stories about they were sold something, provide all info, and result in all getting prosecuted.......

(Needles to say, there is a very special section in hell for such people........the devil himself doesn't even want them there :biglaugh:......)

Glad you found of interest.....glad to be of help......

Main focus in such a case is to make sure it's not you! (the target)....as above....

On a bust, it's hard because contact has to cease....being cut off is the norm in a lot of circles upon a bust....for the safety of all...but, you don't want people to feel abandoned........scared....

Expansive topic.......delicate topic..........lot of angles......and, only hope is to have person tell you the truth (realistically, you will never know unless they do.....and, if they say no.....then you will never know if they are or not....so....in the end...all about relationships.........You do what you can.....you try and establish what you can......

Just talk to him........be real...ya know?........there is a fine line in communications......most people aren't "real".......You talk, you ask couple questions....and you always know....

My situation and life is basically: Tell me anything, anytime...sooner we discuss it, sooner we can address it and do something about it.....and, yeah, everyone knows I might bitch about something, but, that's usually later, after we have solved the problem......everything negative serves no purpose.....

I've been pretty good about getting people to spit it out previously....

Another thing: Most of the time, they want to anyway...ie: They don';t want to keep such things secret...they want to talk about it.....so, you have to assure them they can...

(You know......conscience....while the details differ...we all have one....and, when going against what we believe, etc.....easts away...bothers you.......)

Edit: Illegal activities by CI.
The best and most effective are to get them right back on the street without missing a beat and changing nothing...

Get them right back out....so no one will be suspicious.......so no one will even know there was a bust
....resume, and report, etc..

Lot of cases.....CI's are deeper in activities then the ones they give up...

Well, all depends.......one can find cases where sentence reduction and money was given.......a lot of them......they go free, draw a salary, etc....

Presence of informers should be ones greatest fear......and, there is no shortage....

Let's look for a moment:
You have local informants, city, county, state informants...you have federal...you have FBI...DEA....Customs, INS, ATF.....you have task force informants....then you have private citizens through tip lines, then you have more compensation tip lines....

Imagine the numbers.......DEA/FBI alone has a reported 20,000..throw everything on top.......50,000........100,000?...

Then you have special cases around, such as in Maricopa County, AZ,which Joe Arpaio has a citizens group which numbers in excess of 3,000...(volunteer,no compensation I believe)

3,000 people in one county......from one agency...

Canada?......well, if you guys think your safe....do a little research......because you have them too and they get paid even more there...

Expansive subject I always pay attention to....

I had to think for a moment if that was true X Factor.....(Park Service employee/researcher working in park....)....but, I guess would be textbook X Factor :biglaugh:.....

Fuckin turtles :biglaugh:......

WTF is wrong with people (researcher).........reminds me of the case where they were loading cabinets with green at Home Depot on the border and shipping them up north, and some crew bought some cabinets (north) opened them up, 200lbs inside, and turned them in :biglaugh:...

WTF is wrong with people
.......

Mind your own fuckin business, eh? :smoke:

The Point of Security 101

The Point of Security 101

And now we have illustrated the number one most important reason why it's "Tell no one"...

Hovah........
Let's say your buddy, is solid......stays solid....100%......are you safe?....

It would seem so....

Let's move on to while in holding, he talks to someone (who may, or may not be an agent, and, who may, or may not be an informant on the payroll they put him in with on purpose....)

Yes........they will put you in with informants, because then, they can add testimony of a wider scope...

Let's say he remains solid.....let's say they didn't put him in with an agent or informant....and , let's say, he gets a little time and does it.....

Is everything fine?...

Well, it would seem so....

Unless of course he is talking to someone who is an informant, or who wants to deal, or he gets overheard by one talking to someone who is not...

(Yes.....you could stay solid, do 15 years, and everything you say is being relayed by someone you don't know, who might even show up in court to testify about it....if talking about your brother......friend....associates......all can be listened to, relayed, and they use that to deal...happens all the time....Fact.

You tell one person, they tell 2, etc.....

Is everyone cool?.....

Let's assume so.......

Everything fine?

It would seem to be...

Unless they are talking to someone who is not, or overheard by someone who is not...

Now.........to those who would consider the above far fetched and paranoid, there is nothing that can be said because that belief is far removed from real life..

The above is real life........everywhere, everyday....

Could be an excess of 250,000 people in the nation waiting to use that information for friends, family, profit...

Then throw on "concerned citizens", and that number could quadruple or more.....

Nothing good whatsoever can come from someone having knowledge who does not have to.....

Citizens......prisoners......people on the payroll.......people with friends or family in trouble who need info but have none to offer......

You never know who is listening or why.......so, why even risk it.....

True story..(told before, somewhere)....
2 friends, some whitey, pull up next to 2 girls,(mid 20's, hot, convertible) talk about going to party...had some whitey.....

They were DEA. Guys had a couple keys....

Completely random......textbook case wrong place, wrong time...(and why many know this story to this day, despite many years ago......)

Security 101?

Forget what you think you know...assume you never know.

You don't even know who's in the car right next to you...:smoke:

been looking at lots of potential sites for next year lately...

I like how you mentioned about eye travel...places where you're passing by so fast...no time to really look hard...

in my area there are lots of stretches of highway that were cut out of hills...leaving "bluffs" on one or either side...these go up above road surface by 20-35 ft...can be as long as 1/3 mile or so....

lots of nice sunlight exposure up on top between the trees and brush....

biggest concern first glance is access/harvest...only way I can tell is from side of highway...could be scary stuff at times...would need to sit up there one night and time highway patrol passybys...lots of troopers out there....they have nailed me on my motorcycle a couple times :bashhead:

One man gas powered augers...ever used one??
Any brands to avoid?? Tips??
best size of auger bit to use?? are 4" holes okay??
.....was thinking punch holes in close circle and use hand spade to bust up soil to make one big hole...am I overthinking here??

If I wanted to drill some holes this fall and fill for planting next spring...what would you use to amend local soil to prep??
compost??
organics??

I'm thinking hauling compost is ghey...that stuff is heavy...
I kinda like the idea of a sack of mixed blood/bone/alfalfa meal/watercrystals
one handful or so per hole...

although I've read the blood/bone meals can attract critters...
its always something right...

:violin:

lex dysic: the gas ones may be loud but they're a lot faster than the electric ones. there is one or two electric ones on that market that are good but they're expensive plus you have to lug around some car battery lol.

-get a power drill (cordless of course) and add an auger attachment (24" long and 4-5" in diameter.) that seems to be very promising but people may be skeptical because of the battery. the lithium batteries seem to be alright, just get an extra one and go right into the bush.

Tried it, lousy results. Not saying it won't work for anyone, but unless you have very sandy or loamy soil with no clay or rocks you are going to get very frustrated very quick. In my case I hit a layer of rocky soil a few inches down and couldn't make any progress past it. I had an extra battery and a 19v cordless drill which is fairly powerful in the realm of cordless drills and the 1.5" auger which penetrates tough soil much easier than larger ones just spun without digging and I quickly went through my battery. Seeing the lack of progress I didn't even bother using the second battery. I went back into town and bought a big shovel instead :badday:

I chalked it up to a good life experience that wasn't too pricey :joint:

PHB

PHB: ya thats what I considered too but what it might be good for was when farmers turn over their fields and fertilize. then you drill those small holes, probably be alot easier in a field of some sort. I have been eying this nice 36v drill, not bad...other option is gas ones but that creates unwanted noise. i only plan on using it for auto ak47 or sweet 105....not really intended for large cannabis plants. better off with a post digger or shovel in your experience.

Hey guys, love the thread.

Thought I'd throw this out there for you all to ponder. If you're needing a quality digger, and can't afford/use an auger, I suggest a tri-fold shovel. These things are military issue entrenching tools. As such, you can find them at just about any military surplus store for about $10-15. They are also sold at sporting goods retailers like Dick's or anywhere that would be selling camping supplies. http://survivalsolutions.com/store/product70.html

They fold up to a tiny 9", are fairly light, and fit easily in a backpack. There are also camo designs to be had.

Hope this helps someone.
