Those shrooms look great. Me and some buds drove down to FL, many years ago, just to pick shrooms from the cow pastures.....had a whole motel table stacked about a foot high.....not as high as we were, but there were a bunch.

We did not dry them properly, and the ones that were left, much like our brains the next morning, had turned to mush.....on that trip we watched the waves roll into the ocean and I swear a Teradactle (sp?) flew out of the sugar cain feild:abduct::yoinks: ..... what a trip!

TOO MUCH FCKING RAIN!

Well boys, went out today and one bucket had fallen over. Still out of the water but that means the roots are dieing in all that water. I dont remember it being this wet, this early, without hurricanes...

So anyway, tomorrow im going out and putting the trashcans inside some trashcans that dont have holes in the bottom. Dont have it all figured out yet but fck it, we are all learning on this one.

pics from today. The leaves are yellowing on a few. Bad sign. It will be nice to get them into some new trashcans where i control the water and nutes. Hell at least i wont have to walk water out there!:joint:

The yellowing might just be N deficiency at this point (tons of leaching rain, swamp acidity and the size of the plants in relation to the containers).

Careful with cans in cans : 1. The added flotation from the un-pierced can will fuck with the stability of your already unstable cans. 2. if you keep on getting lots of rain those unpierced cans may completely fill up good and really swamp your big girls roots.

Good luck, those are some big beauties out there and you've done some impressive work so far but there are dues to be paid and lessons to be learned on the way to mastering this game and you're in for a big challenge from here on out.

Is it just the lower leaves that are turning yellow?

Good luck brother, I can't help, but send good vibes. I am with you all the way on this one.

It has been wet has a mofo lately. We had some flash flooding in Louisiana, rain falls over 6".

yeah just the bottom, they just need a good dose of some fert. They will be fine once i get them out of the water. Gonna leave on in the water just to see what happens...

Nice rocks and bricks at the bottom will indeed stabilize your setup and give you height (to get away from the water). I would still poke out an overflow somewhere along the bottom can to get rid of excess water.

Yeah Zapatoloco, i thought about just taking more bottom cut out trashcans out there and filling the bottom half of em with rocks/whatever then putting the plant trashcans on top. It would work im sure. I might to one like that just to see WTF happens.

I think 30gallons of soil is enough to pull 1lb per bucket so im just gonna stick with the no holes trashcan for the majority and do a couple other experiments too.

By the time this is done it will be a fool proof way to growin the swamps....i can promise you guys that...

I wonder if you put drain holes higher up in the garbage can that would be better than no holes. I am not saying to do that, but you will need to drain the soil some how.

Im going to close up the tops of the trashcans too. I can go out there every day if i need too...no biggie

Double-canned w/ drainage/wgt in the 2nd can seems the way to go.
Roots are just too soggy and dying off as is.
Good luck, sure your gonna find a workable solution! :D:yes:

:lurk:

I wouldnt be too worried about the yellowing.. They'll come back.. Sounds like you got a plan. Shit looks bomb. Good luck and may the cannabis gods be with you!

Nice find on the booms too :D

I would fill a trash can with coco before gravel or rocks. Coco is lighter to carry and expands to 10x it's volume with a magic ingredient you happen to have ALOT of......water

Sorry because i pimp coco to people all day long but it seems to fit your situation, coco in a 2nd trash can could add extra root space during flowering. could mean a difference of .1-.2 pounds per plant times 32 plants and you've got a few extra pounds thanks to your friend coco.

I second trying the second trashcan with weight in the bottom and drainage holes in bottom... If the area looks like it may drain after a couple days they'd probably be fine left alone... Stability will be number one when the hurricane winds show up... Had to stake tons of stuff after Ida made her way into the midwest last season...

Its a little late to bring this up but might be something to think about for next year.

Swamp Baggin
Things needed
2 logs (big enough that when they are laid down the tops will still be out of the water)
1 burlap bag
Soil (your choice of course)
Seed or clone (again your choice)

Take the two logs and lay them down side by side where the water is or will be standing. Make sure that the tops will be out of the water, sometimes this is not always possible every day with water that rises from time to time. One or two days when the water is above the tops of the logs will not be a problem but dont let it go on for to long. Ok now that you have the two logs laid side by side take your burlap bag full of soil and lay it down across the logs. Cut a slit in the center of the bag and plant in the bag.
The idea behind this is that the logs will be come water logged and act as a wick for the burlap bag. During the dryer times the roots will grow through the bag and between the logs to get to the water if need be.

I don't post pics because I don't take them but I have pulled 1/2 to 3/4 lb easy off of the ones in my swamp. It could probably be more if I used bigger bags and put them out sooner, but where I am I don't want to grow super tall trees. I don't normally have to tie them over but I have in the past.
Now and days I don't put out anything outside because to many houses have gone up in my area, but in the near future I will be moving and will once again move outside.

I hope you don't take this as you are doing things the wrong way, because by no means are you. Your swamp might not allow for this style of swamp growing, but it is something to think about for next year if you choose to.

Good luck with your cans and keep up the good work.
