vietnamese black info wanted

We should be able to get Viet black right now. They still grow there.
The strains are still there.
Maybe we can convince Gypsy to launch a REAL expedition
for landrace strains of the Vietnam variety by hiring a Viet ganja
brother/sister to venture forth and send Seedbay some strains.
Seeded Samples sent , as well for the vets to try & see if worth keeping/breeding.
kind like Gypsy did before.
EDIT: Heck they could do a Vietnam video and show the field they get
the strain/seed from. Kinda like "strainhunterss" but the real deal Gypsy.

thanks phil for the pics kinda hard to see. Im just trying to figure out what those black buds were from back in the late 80's. Thanks for the helpmine is the real deal, dont know bout the ATF version tho b/c the breeder of that strain offered me his genetics for a cutting of mine back in the OG days but i declined him. thats all im gonna say about that matter.

cant wait for these BN mofo to fill out....still a long way to go. Hope this helps..
These 2 other strains flowered on 5.25.09 are under the same lites, 1K MH. Chop date on these 2 is on 8.5.09...

onegreenday vietnamese black is a hybrid that means its not a true breeding or stable line if it was you wouldnt be findind some more indica looking and some sat looking lines in her off spring.
From what i have read cambodia has much better and if im right i think GN has Cambodian on offer if you go look.

I have Budda's Citron going at the moment - Viet Black x (Viet Black x Tangerine). I stressed the plants to weed out the hermi's and got two nice females. Clones take on a bush structure producing many branches. I lost my only male but im going to make seeds from Fret's Viet x nevils haze.

I have seeds of this VB you quoted Dali. Got them from auction and received from Heavens Stairway. I grew them out and there's no way they'll finish in 9 weeks from seed. If you take cuts after they've sexed you may get them to flower in 12+ weeks.

I believe Dubi said, referring to a older comment that the Viet Black that they have in their crosses is from a seedbay auction a few years back and not pure. I also remember speaking to a friend who visited China and got some beans on his honey moon. The man he got the seeded buds from called in Black Vietnam in Mandarin, or I guess you could say Vietnam Black or Vietnamese Black.
I am always on the look out for oldschool genes, check out my sativas on the Ace boards.

when Tanya and I got married in China after the weeding we went to see the REAL China the country side where i met an 80 year old man who was cultivating this strain and bought about an OZ for $7 american dollars he spoke no english but told Tanya "Veit black" in mandarin when handing me the buds half a joint and my chest pounded like mad had to take anti anxeity meds to smoke it lol seriously, before i left I asked tanya tto ask for seeds since the bud was grown out to be sensi, he handed me 100 or soo beans (still have 40-60) I sprouted 10 as sson as i got back and found only 1 pheno out of 5 females one had a slightly more sprial bud structure these things have generations of back crossing or inbreeding and remain totally stable and NO HERMS have grown 20 or so females not a herm in the bunch.
my keeper that i cant smoke with out something to control my panic....still have this in my clone chamber its a love plant from my wedding very first crop with the wife

harry i was at cw when vb was posted about and all the info i rember from it stated it was not a pure line but a hybrid being sat x indica now if were talking asian sativas like say a thia some can take 14 weeks to just sex.
That info i posted was not from me it was from the strain guide and it also had comments from people that had also grown it out with feed back and theres a bit of info if you or any run a search in google alone.

Dalai, you are absolutely correct in the description as that's the info from the auction. The ones i received and grew out in my pics were heavily leaning toward the sativa side and mine at least wouldn't properly finish in 9 weeks indoors. I never considered it as a pure sativa but am very happy to have it just the same.
