if you have milk, eggs, fruits and honey, and fresh water, you wouldn't need anything else i think...
but to produce all these things oneself one needs to work a ton and have a lot of land in a very nice spot with the fresh water...
if shit really hits the fan real badly, we are going to witness a population reduction that will scare the bravest amongst us.

Yup first they’ll run to the stores for food and that food will go fast then they’ll come 4 us! better get some guns. Me I like the ruger 10/22.

There already are. It's called 3rd world countries/impoverished areas. :smoke:

Ditto with the resources running out. Now, more than any other time in history, people don't give a shit.

It's hard to say how long till the doomswitch is activated, but I don't think people will be raiding the local supermarket anytime soon. An 'apocalypse' is no where near, but we're on a steady decline for sure.

You can prepare all you want, but for most of us that do not live in the deep backwoods and have access to several hundred acres of land/and or vast resources of money to obtain such things - we are all pretty much going to be screwed. I'm just a student trying to survive in this current economy/life, let alone something inevitably worst. I have a hard enough time trying to afford a roof over my head right now as it is.

I fear that when shit hits the fan, it's going to be all out war. If you have any valuable resources....look out, they are coming for you first. There are going to be a lot of hungry assholes out there with guns trying to survive. Congrats to those of you who are lucky enough to have nice survival compounds...I'm living in a shitty apartment in a metropolitan city. I'll be the first to go. :joint:

...always a good idea to have a rural place where you can be self sufficient if all of a sudden the stores run out of groceries and the money the banks give you is worth less than a wet-wipe....

...plan ahead.....it might be a seriously good option....

I would rather forage for supplies in a metroplitan area...than out in the sticks. Rural stockpiles only last so long....(aka ...Omega Man)

Very interesting read, and I would not be surprised to see something similar happen here in the US in the near future.

One thing I would suggest to people, instead of raiding the grocery store go raid the pharmacy. Food is relatively easy to come by, but medicine will not be in a worst case scenario.

This is a great Thread. This year i have been growing all my own crops. this year is my trial run. I don't want the first time I'm growing food to survive to be the first time that I am growing food to survive. It is tough. My advice is: Imagine how much food, that you think you will need, then plant 10x as much.

Big difference between the end of the world and the end of humanity. It irks me when I see all the "Save the Planet" nonsense. The planet is fine. It's been here a very long time and itll be here when we're long gone.

Nokyu maybe you could take some of the usefull links and edit them into your first post. I bookmarked this thread but it is getting long. I was wondering what are the best guns i could get from cabelas for defending my property. I figure a couple pistols and a semi auto rifle but i dont realy want to walk in there asking what guns would be best to kill people not hunt animals at long range.

Loving this thread though i cant wait to buy or better yet build a house out in the country.. the one thing i hate is the laws concerning having marrijuana and guns in the same place
