Dogue de Bordeaux anyone

i know i know an other dog post ...its all good though if you dont like dont post simple,,,,please no trolls bawbags ect ect .....

right i shall be looking for a companion for my boxer over the next year or so..i was planning on getting another boxer but the law has changed hear and boxers now come with tails ..so thats that am not getting one,,,if i can get one from Germany with dock tail and cropped ears i would be a verry happy man..<<<<whats the chances of that eh...

so ive move onto Dogue de Bordeaux/ French mastiff (you know Tuner and hooch lol)...

always had a soft spot for mastiffs ever since i saw one when i stayed in spain meny moons ago.. and ive came up with the french mastiff. i just like the look of the French mastiff over all the others,,eg english,italian,neopolitan,spanish ect ect.....so has anyone got a French mastiff,,,infact any mastiff will do...how are thay to live with? will he get on with my boxer.... you can only read so much on the web, i want info straight from the mouth of a owner/breeder....

if any1 can give me some info about there dog i would be greatfull...

My neighbors had two of them. They were both used as guard dogs because they were both vicious. The female dog wasn't as vicious though, and I managed to get close enough to stroke her once or twice. The male would try and maul any living creature in sight. I believe the larger male ended up killing the slightly smaller female dog eventually. It's a real shame. They were beautiful animals.

I'm not sure whether they're vicious and aggressive by nature, or because of treatment by their owners.

I wish I knew more about the dogs.

cheers bro ,,,,from what ive read there ment to be very loyal and child/family loving dogs. just like most other mastiffs breeds the fighting side of the dog has been breed out/ or should i say on going lol ...yeh no doubt people use them as gaurd dogs and you can see why ,there big ass lol...but from what ive read there gental giants (dare i say it lol)......... thanks for the info bro , there are always 2 sides

Recently the Argentine Dogo has caught my eye. I'm thinking about getting one of these rather than an APBT because they look almost exactly the same, except dogos are large enough to down a 300+ pound boar. They're used for fucking hunting huge jungle boars. Fuckin bad.

Well man I been readin up on a lot of different breeds lately. Check out the japanese tosa inu. Fuckin BADASS. If you just google it there's a kennel in south korea that breeds them specifically for fighting. I guess they don't have dog fighting laws over there because they got pics of their dogs maiming other dogs and everything. Read the wiki article on these dogs, they sound so cash.

Not that I condone dog fighting, I just want the most badass dog I can possibly find.

So you wont get another boxer because you cant get one with ears and tail docked/cropped???? yet you want to get a bordeaux which has floppy ears and a waggy tail??

Cant understand the logic in that at all unless you have some sort of fixation with agressive looking dogs.

I'm glad the laws were changed regarding cosmetic surgery on dogs as it's totally wrong in my book but thats a debate for another day.

Why not go to the pound and get a rescue boxer im sure it wont be too hard to find one with cropped ears n tail??

bro thay dont just crop the ears for them to look mean..boxers can suffer from bad ears.. and as for the tail, it can get snagged ?torn when running through bush (gun dogs and all) + it make the breed look alot sharper/cleaner lines in the showring...

Just to be clear i wasnt having a go at you bro.

But boxers are born with a tail and ears cropping is a relativly modern thing with them ( the breed is less than 200 years old ) and seems to be started in the U.S ,well the ears most definatly and it's main objective IS to give the dog a more agressive look same as they do to pitts.

Trust me in the 4 amazing years i,ve had my 2 the ears are never a problem same goes for the other owners of the boxer club i'm part of.

I wouldnt say a boxer looks silly with a tail, i bought my 2 because of their temprement and their loyalty and natural guarding instinct but it always think it's a shame i could not find 2 pups with their tails intact.

Way i see it is any dog with a tail could get snagged or damaged running through brush wood so what makes boxers or gun dogs specially at risk??

Seems to me that it's a popular misconception that certain breeds need tails/ears altered for their own good when in most cases this simple is not true.

But anyways i'm starting to get a bit preachy so i hope you find a good bordeaux and it gives you many years of love and happiness.

can i say my boxer still has her ears (just dock tail) but i like the look off the boxers with cropped ears aswell (german boxers)...dont now why ,,it could well be because it looks more aggresive am not sure i just like lol...

i dont care what any1 says boxer.rottie doberman all look silly with tails....you got to remember ive grown up in a time when these dogs have docked tail,,,thats what am used to seeing.......

^^^^^^^ LMFAO everytime i come in from work she come up and wipes boggers on me ,,,i mean everytime i come home lol..... its even funnyer when shes up the hills no1 wants to go near he because of the slaver/drool...so since thay dont go near her she makes sure to go upto them and whip some slavers on them heheheheheheeh...........something a breeder said to not long after i got her...::boxers eh full of beans the only min rest you get is the min b4 thay die: . she coming up for 6 and still no sign of slowing down

Ah man you have 1 yourself no point in trying to tell you they stay puppys until they die you already know that.

Yeah boxers dont slow down with age at all i have to bring my guysout for a run around the feild 3 times a day to get a bit of peace and quite at night.

Silly thought but have you considered a french bulldog as your next pet those little guys are full of personallity....i'm barred from getting anymore dogs but i think i can wrangle 1 more dog into the house and it's going to be a frenchie

i was even thingking of a british bulldog but trying to get a good breed 1, i would be paying very hight money, what £1000 so whats that $2000 french ... and upwards of £1500 for a nice bulldog $3000,,,,i like most toy bulldog type dogs...pugs ,frenches,boston ter, ...then youve got the probs than come with them,,breathing probs, bad eyes ect ect .....i suppose all dog have there own probs eh......
hear my list of what am going to get ,,i will def be getting a friend for layla<<< my boxers name..

1.boxer if i can get 1 from Germany (cropped ears and tail)
2. french mastiff..
3. french bulldog.
3. German shepard.
4. boston terrier.
5. pug...

i just need to make up my mind lol....i just keep looking a french mastiff ....
