My first coco experience

I know I've said it a hundred times already, but this system is great. Took very little time to set up, zero maintenance, change the water out once every week or two, and watch them grow!

Yes that is a pf cake, and it had already been flushed three or four times by the time that pic was taken. I think I might have to set up a little larger grow for those, I'm almost out! :badday:

Oh yeah, forgot the shot of my veg cab. I'm not quite as good with the hand watering thing so the Sour Diesels aren't looking as good. I just topped the Blockhead and 5th MaT, hoping to be able to take some clones for when this round is done.

when you thinking your harvest will be ready to cut? I had a few set backs so it looks like the end of june before I will be cutting them down for reveg and cure.
Been dieing to get my hands of some sour d to run in the new system I am working on hear its got a nice buzz to it.
I am in the process of building a PC case that I am going to use as my Perminant bloom box from here on out.
Going to run a 100 watt CMH in a rocketfish pc case the thing is a monster 24 high 22 long.

try rye grain in quart jars....and your yields are going to skyrocket.....larger fruit bodies.....and maybe a little more potent....

what strain?....i grew out almost everything several years ago...(i personally liked equadors, SA, puerto ricans,) Hated Florida of F+, B+, onisis india or whatever.

my largest fruit body was nearly 10 grams dry weight.....

by the way ................nice looking mj :joint:

Currently planning on harvesting June 21~ around 9 weeks. It's coming up quick! Only like 4.5 weeks left. I'm not sure if I'm gonna grow shrooms again for a while, at least not while I'm flowering. I definitely will give it another go, and will probably go the route you suggested tnhndecapper.

Wow! Everything is looking really good Bounty!

I've watched a couple of your grows and I have to say that your plants look awesome in the coco!
(the ones in veg could use a little help.)

But there's an obvious difference. :headbange

I'm in the process of switching from organic soil to coco with refined nutes.

With all the great plants that people are growing in coco, I thought that I'd give it a try and see what's up....

Nice work, man!

Alright, just got out of work, checked the reservoir. It doesn’t look great, but it’s at 6.0ph and 0.8ec, which I think is pretty close to what it was when it was fresh a week ago. Just mixed up a new one, 9ml/g Bloom and 7ml/g KoolBloom at 6.0ph, which comes out to 1.1ec.

I agree about the vegging plants, I’ve been a little lazy lately and haven’t kept up with waterings and feedings as well as I should have, but I’m back on top of it now. I just realized the Blockhead that I’ve had growing for a few months is a female, now I’m not sure what to do with it. Side growth is extremely slow, I topped it a few days ago but it’s looking good. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few clones within this next month.

I can't wait to run clones in this drip setup, with an even canopy I can see this thing really producing. I was never sure how large I could scale my grow up, but after using this drip system I know I could do a room. The recirculating drip is without a question the way I'd go if I were to do a full room. The automated drip is why my flowering plants look so much better than my vegging plants.

Heh... :badday:

Just went into the bedroom to wake up the gf and the carpet felt wet. Thought to myself "Huh, must've spilled a little bit when I took the old res out." Nope, just didn't connect the pump hose to the drip hose when I put the new res in. :badday:

Luckily my bedroom is in the bottom level of a split level ranch, meaning the only thing under the carpet is concrete. I scrubbed the carpet with towels til I couldn't move my arms any more, then got the wet/dry shop vac and did a little more with that, and finally put the dehumidifier right near the spill and put it on full blast. Shouldn't be too bad, was just one watering. Looks like it was about 2 gallons though :badday: I now know that each time my pump runs it puts about half my res through the plants... :badday:

That's the last time I make that mistake.
I'll have to monitor the next feeding to make sure the res doesn't get too low, don't want to fry the pump too. I'll probably mix up another gallon or two of nutes and fill it back up.

I was being semi- lazy for a couple of weeks and my pH dropped like a rock! Things are back on track with mine as well I hope to harvest about the same time as you end of June.

Yeah if you don't have an automated watering system with coco you can't be lazy, it dries out a lot faster than soil. And I feel like when coco dries out there's more damage than when soil dries out, but you can recover faster in coco. One of my favorite things about coco is that if your plants need something, you can change the second you notice, and see results in 12-24 hours. Soil is a little slower process, at least from my experience.

Here's my veg box, Blockead is starting to show some positive side growth a few days after topping her (Soil mix in a 2 liter bottle.) The last MaT (coco 2 liter) is doing very well. Gotten a lot greener in the past few days, all the side shoots are starting to make progress, should be able to take clones in the next week or so. The two SD IBLs are doing great, noticable growth every day. I need to either top or LST them soon, they've almost given me big enough side shoots for clones and I haven't done any training yet.

a nice read. thanks bounty

+1 to that :headbange

Reads like a good movie - the start of the movie sucks you in, includes a little drama (the res spill) and has the promise of a happy ending heh

So I think I'll be lucky if I get more than a couple grams off of each of the smaller ones, but oh well, next time I'll keep a more even canopy. :bashhead:

I just changed the reservoir out, there was about two gallons left, and it was at 6.1ph and 1.2ec. The new mix is just 9ml Bloom, came out to 6.0ph and around 0.7ec.

My next run will be a PC swc grow.. Did you say you were going to do a reveg or clone for your next cycle?

Well I'll be flowering clones but I will probably be revegging these girls as well, but they won't be flowered again for a while, if ever, depending on the smoke. I think instead of the 4" net pots next time I'm just going to fill the whole thing up with coco and do a bed style grow, more room for the roots to spread out. They're all getting fed the same thing anyways so why not. The big one is really starting to yellow now, and they're all starting to show some dead pistils. Things are coming along very nicely.

My master plan is to chop them then reveg in my pc case I am building. once the cuttings are cured I will test out the 5 different plants I have growing and pick my 3 favorites(only have 1 kalichakra to use that one is grandmothered in automatically.).
take cutting froms the reveg and start from scratch.
I have made about every rookie mistake that could be made so hopefully my next round will flow a bit smoother.
