Prime for prime, Ali.

I'd give prime Tyson a decent shot at beating post-Vietnam War Ali, just based on how much easier he was to hit. If Frazier and Foreman could get inside that jab, you've got to think Tyson could have wreaked havoc with the D'Amato bob and weave.

Of course, even this Ali might have been too tough mentally for Mike to break down.

Ali - in 4.

Tyson was a thug - Ali was an artist.

Still the most beautiful fights to watch - ever. Even the ones he lost.

Damn - Norton broke his jaw, and Ali still won the fight.

Ali - Ali - Ali - Ali - Ali - Ali - Ali - Ali

Gonna be one of the biggest funerals ever when he gets called back to Allah.

Everyone knows "The Greatest"...

hell yea, actually tyson wouldnt deserve the opportunity, besides that ali would make a fool of tyson

People that actually follow boxing know that tyson really wasnt that good he was a pitbull but u put him in the ring with ali he wouldnt stand a chance not many people realize what reach can do for a boxer and ali was one of the few that used his reache to his advantage.

I've watched almost all of their careers and Ali had style, was amazing to watch. But the time it took to watch 3 of Alis fights I watched a third of Tysons career on the same station the next week. Tysons fights are over within 1-2 rounds. I would never want to feel an impact like that, I was in a car accident and I still think that hurt less.

You guys seem to dismiss tyson's knowledge of pugilism.

Mike knew an awuful lot about boxing styles and how to use that that against his opponent.

It's just most of the time Mike went insane in the ring and just tried to destroy whatever was in front of him, even so far as to try to eat the opponent. Holyfields ear. lol

Ali was the greatest but Mike wasn't as shabby as a lot of you think.

i think that points out tyson's mental weakness. Ali would of taunted Mike until Mike lost sight of his strategy and ultimately get KTFO!

c'mon man! Ali fled the govt and the govt stuck him with some crazy disease. that's how bad ass Ali was. of course Mike took it one step further and hate some dude's ear and tattooed his face. DOH!

Mikes mind is definitely too unstable to be able to focus on the fight with all of Ali's shit talking. You dont make very good decisions when you are mad.

Ali was a master a manipulating the opponents mind. It is still a trick used to day on neighborhood ball courts and fields. Taunt your opponent til they get mad. Then....

Ali all the way,,,,

The only way Tyson woulda stood a chance is if his head was in the right frame of mind and lets be honest it never was. He was a animal pure and simple.
Ali woulda won this fight behind he climbed into the ring.... I know Tyson was awesome in his prime a real bully in the ring but remember when Ali was Cassius Clay he came up against a bully and then current champ Sonny Liston and took his title away with the bully refusing to get off his stool for the 7th round, the rematch was even worse (1st round KO). Because of the skill Ali had alot of people forget he had a great chin.

I think where alot of people go wrong when comparing these 2 boxers is not taking each respective boxers opponents into account. Without doubt Tysons reign didnt have the calibre of a Norton,Foreman (in prime), Patterson or a Frazier and so on... To try and prove my point can anyone here tell me a fighter Tyson beat/lost that (a) was in his prime? (b) was the same calibre of opponent of any of the above highlighted?

Case closed lol

This is just my opinion, i maybe wrong i maybe right...

i would never call tyson shabby, at least when he had his act together still. youngest heavyweight in boxing history. one of those "what might have been" if d'amato had been younger and lived longer, or if he'd kept rooney. btw i thought it was terrible the way holyfield was rubbin his noggin into tyson's face in the infamous fight.

Whats funny we all forget or care to remeber is Tyson is and was the youngest campion at 18 years old... 18 everyone. Ali is the greatest but ali like rope a dope and tyson would have headhunted him in the corner of the ring.

Ali, obviously. He was always fighting good boxers, and winning. They always threw Tyson a bunch of nobodies, and one of them (Buster) beat his ass, remember? If Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson in his prime, how could Ali possibly lose? He couldn't. Don't get me wrong, Tyson dropped some serious bombs, but remember... he would actually have to LAND one or two good ones for them to count. Ali wouldn't take one of those bombs to the chin, no way! You guys claiming Tyson for the win should go watch some Ali vids, and give it another thought!

Tyson was 20 in 1986 when he knocked Trevor Berbick out for the heavyweight championship. Oddly enough,, before him Floyd Patterson was the youngest at 21. He too was trained by Cus D'Amato.
