And to correct you again, it is not a hermie if it is selfed, a hermie is a plant with BOTH genders, and those are pretty rare, I've seen about 3 in 14 years of growing. As the Cheese does not have an intersex trait, recressive or otherwise, the offspring will not either, so the term hermie has no place when discussing the selfing of the Cheese cut, let's be clear on that. Beside hermie is not a term that should be used to describe any plant with an intersex trait as that is different genetically from a hermaphroditic plant.

Why didn't Greenhouse Seed Co. feminise the original clone ?

Why did GHSco need Big Buddha and Big Buddha's Cheese to make feminised 'Cheese' seeds?

(if the story is true that they used the original clone,, why bother with him?)

Indeed Sam could, but it appears he's not interested in doing so... think about it from his point of view,, yet another group of growers seek to fuck over his ibl and cluster-fuck it (either onto its own genetics ...or something similar perhaps or maybe something else) into an unstable seed line that will be propagated by 100's of uneducated and unsuspecting growers,, whom will no-doubt believe themselves to be growing the original "Cheese"... especially when it gets cloned.

A. [1] Skunk 1 s not trendy enough to be worth working with, I bet the original grower of the Exodus clone only bought it as it was cheap pack ?

A. [2-3] Because, reading between the lines, for some reason it does not work. Nobody has said why, Cheese works well in crosses, but it seems the results of selfing are not worth carrying on with.

A. [4] They used Big Buddah's Cheese cross as he had done all the work and GHS have very good distribution and promotion....so agreed to sell it. They could recreate the work, but maybe did not have the time or space and worked out a good deal.

Will we see a GHS Sour Diesel IBL soon I wonder ? :wink:

Right at the beginnign of this thread I said that I had the original Cheese clone and of that there is no doubt, I won't explain why because I'm not naming names of people that I obtained it from (I obtained cuts from 4 sources, they are all the real one) and Docleaf has been insinuating I haven't got the real cut for long enough for it to become really annoying, and I still haven't forgotten the outright bullshit he's posted several times before and had to correct, it's grown tiresome and I can give no more answers so I wish he would quit asking stupid questions, it;s a simple situation:

I have the Cheese cut

I sprayed it with CS

It grew lots of bananas

That's a simple enough scenario, there is no more to tell than that, but some people have to throw doubt on everything.

I would bet GP's selfed version blows GH away. I had the cheese cut and lost it due to a move and bought those GH cheese beans and to say the least all their version managed to do was piss me off and make me realize I had been taken for a ride.

Well, I put a Cheese cut into flower last night and it's been sprayed with CS twice, I shall keep praying until I see nanners then let her go until she makes seeds, then we shall see. I have no idea what Cheese S1s will be like, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks who will be keen to test them so we can all find out.

Sorry you had to find out the hard way that GHS Cheese is just generic Skunky average buds, the real Cheese is truly exceptional. However, it is just a Skunk, it just happens to be a rare really special pheno of Skunk #1 and as has been discussed at length, no-one really knows whether it is a sport one-off pheno or just a pheno of late 80s Skunk #1 that isn't found in the present day Skunk #1 variants. If te latter is the case, then it stands to reason that with selfing the plant will give a number of Cheese phenos in the offspring, however, the former may be the case and the unique terpenoid profile that makes the Cheese special is rather elusive when it comes to being passed onto it's offspring, meaning Cheese phenos will be fairly rare among the S1s.

So many questions, so few answers, hopefully making some Cheese S1s will give us some answers, why no-one else has selfed the Cheese before I do not know, certainly it's possible, and the availability of feminised Skunk #1 beans would support this point.

I should have added earlier in the thread, that cheese selfs were made years ago by a grower going by the name of Visioncreator. He was not impressed at all with the S1 generation, from what I remember.

That's hardly a conclusive statement from Chimera and it still doesn't answer the question of what exactly Cheese S1s will be like, so I'm going to find out for myself.
