Cheers and happy growing :D

hey ss , thanks for dropping in ...
ohh i can flower all year round out there , its just a case of w2hat u plant and when ...
yes the herb grows and veges very well in the wet ,, the hot days , and humidity ,,, inch of rain a day ,, it all helps make things go boom ...

Great looking plants Wally! So good to see fresh outdoor this time of the year, its snowing here right now. According to my calculations it is for you the eqivilent of what would be late July here in the north, a very fun time of the year! What month do you usually harvest in?

G

guest123

hey bc ,, good to see u here .
yes quite a stark contrast isnt it between hemispheres ..
im lucky not to be too far from the equator so we can really harvest most of the year here ..
typically harvest time in most of oz is aprilish ,, around easter is the norm ...
these sativas are really going off ....

Yes Wally, you really are lucky to be able to grow all year long!!

What are those sativas that you are growing in this crop?

G

guest123

hey herbalistic good to see u here ....
im slowly adding a few pics as i go . plenty more to come and ill keep more update here as things come to harvest ..
the sativas are a mix of some things from last season ,, some came up by themselves .. others are more likely haze and cindy crosses with some local sativas ...

Geeeeeeez Wally!!!

Looking MUCH better now man...
Sativas are a kickin there in the sun!!
Love the fresh lime color of robust plants outside
and i love good sativas, what are they???????

G

guest123

hey lou , nice to see ya ..
yea i love the robustness and natural looks of outdoor herb also mate , just looks lovely basking in she sun ...
im a sativa fan too , but honestly some are a little on the ordinary side and not worth growing a second time ..
others though are fantastic and real winners in my books ..
i just love the shape they get , all the arms stretching out wider from the bottom and toward the tops ... i particularly like the ones that have thin ;leaves and tight bud aswell ,, such a breeze to prune ... the ones that drop all the leaves are a real joy aswell .. hehe ...
so as far as what strains of sativa ,, mmm its really anyones guess where some of them originally hailed .. some resemble african sativas that ive grown , i know some of the local stock will have come from india and hawaii aswell i d say .. ... some are sweet florally smelling ,, and others that kinda grassy sativa smell .. the odd one will be very pungent smelling ..
they behave well if crossed with an earlier maturing strain like c99 ...
i think in truth they are probably a lot better cross than grown on their own ...

WEll ill say one thing WALLY!

YOUR SOILS ARE PERFORMING VERY VERY GOOD!!
Kinds makes me envious,my soils SUCK SANDY ASS?
BIG plants only end up rotting right at flower time
BIG fungle probs like neematoads in the earth here???
They make the root stalks all boiled at the base of plants.
So they are a bit harder to do here in the extreme south??
Boy oh boy wally your gonna have many sativa sun rizzzzzes soon!!!
HEy got any indicas there??

G

guest123

hey lou ,, funny u should mention the mould ... im usually not a fan of big plants for the same reason .. ive lost too many big ones and gotten nothing ,, where a smaller plant i would have at least yeilded something ..
i do have a few indicas in there . not many cause they dont like the rain much either . mostly sativa based genetics ... there could be a deep chunk and a few other indica types coming on now ..... lets hope the rain doesnt get them ....

Great grow it looks like your early concerns of a small harvest were put to rest.

Make sure you include some drying pics as it is always one of the hardest problems to get a grip on when trying to complete the grow cradle to grave outdoors like you do.

I cannot wait to start my outdoors this year and appreciate your summer (our winter) grows for inspiration.

thanks hamstring ,, sure ill pop up a few pics of the herb drying and the finished product aswell .. this next lot looks like being worthy of a few shots .....
