The yellow green buds are the lemon sativa which has lost all lemon scent only ranky dank skunk smell remains. The darker browner buds are the (face off OG- platinum cookies) Scooby snacks. It remains very fruity smell and has a smooth sweet flavored smoke. Best tasting smoke I’ve had to date. Boris the spider hanging out protecting the harvest! I don’t have a scale but one case of quart jars filled and two 17 gallon totes full. Still burping the buds in cure. Still have not final trim. Still no bubble hash need to make time to make some. The finger/scissor hash was like nothing I’ve ever had before. It was very harsh smoke, effect was heavy duty stoned sped up heart rate at first then was able to calm and relax.

Thats a pretty heavy harvest! Would be great to be able to provide for people like that, nice job! Make time to stir up some bubble, its good stuff, I had another small piece this evening. It sounded good. Finger hash is the best though. I have a couple small marbles in there. Its fresh and stays nice and moist. Yeah its even stronger I think.

I had a lemon scented plant a couple years ago. It was amazing, part of the sativa side. :smoke:

Yeah I was bummed that the lemon scent was lost there is nothing lemon about the buds now but it’s very skunky which surprised me. While growing the lemon scent would bother my eyes it was so strong I guess I lost it in harvest? I’m gonna look into terpenes and how they degrade I’m sure I messed it up somehow

Did it have a lemon sent at the time of harvest?

The lemon scent on my crop remained after drying and curing in the jar. It didn't have much flavor though. It was a couple years ago when the crop had N burn from Expoma/ chicken manure. That lemon smell is probably just a more volatile terpene and was lost or chemically changed after drying.

I’m thinking the same. Not disappointed overall happy. I won’t go into details but the harvest was less than ideal..

Any mold issues? I have found out this year that watering. especially in late flowering, helps the plants reach their potential potency. My friend was telling me to flush with water, it makes them so good, and I tried it, and it seemed to help. Genetics is a key factor of course. Happy plants make happy buds.

No issues with mold. I didn’t get to flush. they only got watered weekends final weeks of flower as I got virtually no rain for five weeks. They seemed happily hydrated but no excess was given. I’ve found four seeds in a mountain of buds yet, so I’m not sure what’s more likely, herm or it got pollen from earlier neighboring male…? I’m going a different direction with genetics next season. Indica trees

Sounds good to me. Realguerullaseeds.com is a vendor here and seedbay/ seedboutique are good resrouces. Thinking the same way, my friend. :smoke:

Watering weekends would be fine, but you have to water heavy for a long period to get it to wet to depth of root.

The site in the hills is at bottom of valley maybe 500 ft from sea level but only few feet above water table next to creek. There is a spring underground I’m almost positive I could go without watering at all and they’d be happily hydrated. During the weekend watering they’d get roughly 10 gal each day. The water from one bed feeds the next so I’d water the lower girls less they were the biggest. The season usually dries up just in time for flowering. Next year I’ll look into drainage and hydration more closely. Soil composition will continue to improve. Chickens are cooking a good batch of dirt in the run for another spot next season. Gonna scale it down a little gonna need some shorter plants for new spot.

Seems like there would be a big pay-off for a breeder who creates plants that simply don't smell like pot.

So you can have a warehouse full and it smells like Roses or something & you can just tell your neighbors, Oh yeah we sell Rose Potpourri's mail order - and they believe you.

What smell would be the best mis-direct / red herring, to make people think, there's no way they are growing Pot in there ?

I lost my sense of smell temporarily after getting covid19 I guess. Its back now, but at the time I was so disappointed, and felt like I was missing the best part of the cannabis plant. Scent, taste, potency are all related when it comes to cannabis resin terpenes. Smelling the plants in the garden, I can almost determine potency. Have a good weekend, smoke it up! :smoke:
