When I first started with growing landrace, a lot of opinions were that landrace likes the natural sun, and that part of the reason it grows badly indoors is because the sun gives more lumens than an indoor setup. I've been learning over the years that this is dead wrong. Landrace has evolved to take much less light than the varieties that have acclimatized indoors under steady artificial lights. Exactly matching your observations too Dave :)

Probably too much chemical nutrients and boosters.
Try using natural ingredients next time.

You're completely right. I dont know what I was thinking. Im an amateur at best. At best. What was I thinking? I should just hang my head in shame and quit growing. Close the thread down and devote my time to learning the way of natural ingredients if I ever want to grow a healthy plant.

So now, would you like to tell us who your real account is? This account was created a month ago, but you're now only mustering up the courage to come in here and talk smack. And you do it after I post a picture perfect Pure Thai Sativa. Laughable.

Thanks for chiming in with your observations Bootz. Im glad Im not the only person who has noticed this. Your growing some very healthy & nice looking Swazi right now, so Ill put plenty of stock into what you say compared to our trollish friend above.

Variegation has nothing in common with chemical nutrients and booster.
I only use natural ingredients and I sometimes have variegation.
Agree with oldbootz, it s genetic, my 2 cents.

Here's the six I got to go, I had three that never came up after germination, I figure it was a soil issue, and I had one more runt out.

Great to see an update from you Hash. I was just thinking the other day about that. Im glad to see they're doing well under your care. Im excited to see how they do outdoors for you.

Can't say Im shocked you got a couple of oddballs in the mix. Seems about par for the course with this line.

Sorry to hear 3 didn't come up after germing. I highly recommend getting yourself some Rootshield powder to improve %. Of the 20 DPxTSG I started recently 18 broke the surface, and not a single one died from damping off afterwards.

Also Rootshield actually works really well with cuttings/clone too. Close to 3 weeks ago I took two cuttings from every Golden Diesel I had in the flower room. This time I poured some of the rooting powder into a cup, and added a very small amount of Rootshield powder. This mixture was used as my cutting dip. Close to 20 cuttings have rooted for me, and I didnt lose a single plant to stem rot, which typically happens to 5-10% of cuttings for me. I will definitely be using it with all my future clonings.

I'll order some rootshield up and give it a try.

I'm planning to open poilinate these Durbans and throw in some purple kush x Pakistani females as well as urkel, cherry pie and royal Nepalese clones. That will probably happen indoors but a hoophouse could be an option.

Some Durban clones could make it outside or in the hoop but my outdoor plant count was recently reduced to six, I think. New local regulations are going to be announced soon.

You'll be glad to make it a part of your garden once you do. Mary swears by it too.

Those crosses sound wonderful. Lets hope the offspring end up with lots of intense purple hues. You may even find more anise in the Durban offspring than the Durban themselves. The Early Durbans I harvested recently smell strongly of anise. More so than the original Durbans.

Only 6 plants outside huh? Ill be happy to see even one DP outdoors. how many do you get indoors there? Hope its enough to offset the outdoor restrictions.

It depends on the lot size (acreage), I believe I will be limited to 12 in veg and 6 in bloom since I am under 5 acres. :ying:

PNG

Ive got something new in the garden to share with you all. I was lucky enough to be gifted some PNG(Papua New Guinea) . A big thanks goes out to that person who made it happen.

These are long flowering sativas that I believe can take up to 20 weeks or so. Good thing Ive got lots of practice with the GN Thai.

We'll give them a few weeks veg, then Ill flower them out, and take some cuttings from each plant shortly after flowering them.

Really glad to see these getting spread around. This is a variety that absolutely deserves preservation and dissemination. I'm sure lots of us would love to have access to it, and the more people who make more seed the better all of our chances.

I'm really excited to see these grow out!

Dj, Im glad to do my part and help preserve this line. Ive got 40 more PNG seeds to work through as well. Ill be looking for standout plants to create the next generation. Perhaps the person who got them to me will be able to make them more widely available in the future. Lets hope!

@Realhash, Your plant numbers sadden me :(. Only 18 plants to spend time with..but at least the law is on your side.

Oh this is going to be good. I am also very interested in the PNG. Seen a few pics and looks like a great strain. I've heard rumors of semi-auto traits in some phenos.
Will be lurking in the shadows watching these babies grow up in your more than capable hands Dave.

Peace GG

Im glad to have you following along as we embark on a journey through these plants lives. Should be fun for all. Speaking of auto traits, I also have a small number of seeds of PNG that carry the auto trait. Its a separate line the gift giver provided me. They will at some point in the future make an appearance, but it'll be a good while before we get to them.

Yeah I know- I think I'll have to partner up with someone with a 5+ acre parcel to get my licensing. My goal is to set up a small seed company and focus on local sales. It would be nice to get the go ahead from the local government.

Thanks for the good vibes Buddah. I appreciate it! My garden will always be mostly full of sativas or sativa hybrids till the bitter end. You'd have a hard time getting me to grow much else :).

Thanks for following along and I hope you'll enjoy the future PNG updates.

I hope you can get that license, and expand your garden. I wish you the best on your endeavors. May they be fruitful. :tiphat:
