Hi @LostTribe that was the more variable and tropical F2 Zamaldelica release, yours sounds mostly Zamal, maybe a bit of Thai, not so much Malawi. If you want consistency and best quality for mango carrot phenos in Zamaldelica then the fem version is the best choice.

Thanks! I almost never run female seeds. I have more of these to run through and happy to try them again soon.

Wow @tjmccoy :tiphat:props! A true testimony of the potential of last breeding step done (to F3) to Zamaldelica regular lines (explained previously in this thread), selected for tamed and high yielding Zamal/Thai expressions like yours are showing. They are reflowering heavily at this point, meaning they are happy with your excellent cares and setup, and they still have a few things left to say!

My Zamaldelica from seed, day 24. It´s from the very first release when they were given out as freebies. This one shows a lot of vigor and branches out to a big bush yet it´s a rather squat plant for such a wild Sativa. The Haze x Kali China who is next to her is almost double her height! She started showing sex even in early veg, so looks semi autoflowering to me. She has a sweet carrot smell already. I knocked her up with some pollen of Mango Hashplant from Bodhi Seeds. It´s Colombian Mangobiche x 88G13 Hashplant. The father was also very vigorous and bushy with a sweet Mango smell from the stem rub. Looking forward to grow the offspring next season! I also took clones and put one of the rooted clones directly in flower, so there will be one sinsemilla plant in the other tent...

@OZZ thank so much for your interest in exploring Zamaldelica Breeders Pack :greenstars:
Wish you find great Zamaldelica expressions from all the lines like was the case with Panama Breeder Pack!
I see you created a dedicated thread here in our room for the Zamaldelica Breeder Pack:

which is more updated, so if you don't mind i catch up there as soon as possible ;)

Thanks Dubi! I’ll post highlights here in this thread as well, but wanted to post a thread with more detail of my hunt without clogging up the strain thread itself!

I’ll get some pics put up here with lights on 🤙🤙🤙

Day 7 - 11/13 on Zamaldelicas

Already throwing pistils?? I was expecting big stretch on these gals …. It’s still early so maybe they will pick up n the next few weeks but so far stretch isn’t anything much at all **knock on wood**. @dubi it appears you have done a great job on taming these guys …. But maybe I am speaking too soon 🤣🤣

The primary purpose of this grow is to select a nice mother or two for further testing so it’s not the end of the world if they remain small to medium sized.

The Zamal A 75% (back left corner) is showing darker green coloration than the others along with the tiniest bit of leaf clawing on her largest fans whereas the others all look like they want more feed, so trying to rUn her on the same res as the others likely won’t result in the best outcome for her. Since she is my “favorite” so far in veg and I’m developing a crush on her I think I’m going to move her to the front left tray and shut her feed line off, then manually bottom water her tray by hand so I can reduce the nitrogen in her nutrient solution.

I absolutely LOVE my current nutrient line but it’s clear that with the more delicate tropical Sativas I’ll need to make some adjustments to reduce nitrogen. Either that or simply be more rigid in what I run together, and make sure I only run plants from the same lines together at a time …. Which is fine by me. In this scenario I shouldn’t have put a Zamal A 75% in her but instead ran only the elite line plants together.

Here you can see a cropped photo of the Zamal A 75% leaves and the slight clawing telling me to “back off buddy”

Here’s a full shot of her, the Zamal A 75%, I’ll give them all a week or two to get some stretch on them and get filled out more then pull them out for individual photo shoots

Looking nice OZZ!
Mine didn’t stretch like I thought they would. Very manageable plants.

Hey everyone,
I started 3 Zamal A x Zamaldelica seeds on New Year’s Day and they went in the flower tent 3 weeks later. Ended up with 2 females.
Really excited to see how they turn out.

I’ll have to try larger files to get better quality for my pictures. Those seem to be shrunk down too far.
Love the tiny leaves on these girls.

Good to know and yours are looking great!! I may have flipped mine too early for proper root establishment in my autopots but I think they’ll still dig in just fine I’m only at day 7. If I can get at least another 12” of stretch out of them I’ll be happy.

So your plants are the Zamal A 75% line then…. Correct? Same as the one I’m so fond of

Don't know if this is of interest @OZZ_ the one Zamaldelica fem I grew (seeds from 2018) showed almost no stretch at all during flowering.
What I did was veg her for one month in a 1 L pot (soil; 18/6) with a lot of LST, generating many branches before switching to 11/13. Eight days later, I up potted to 16 L soil. She grew a little more, but not much at all.

The Honduras x Panama in the same tent with the exact same treatment and handling, exploded (but was still handable SCROG style in the 60x60 tent). Both plants ran into some nutrient lockout a while later, but that affected both plants pretty much at the same time. I now suspect it had to do with a too high sodium concentration in my water. This may have affected the Zamaldelica's growth earlier on than the HxP without any other visible signs, I don't know. Both plants looked really nice until about 30 days into flower. The HxP was easily 4x the biomass of the Zamaldelica. In the end I got lucky and a decent harvest from both.

Yours should definitely stretch up more for sure. Mine had very similar stretch to the zamaldelica fems I’ve grown in the past, I was just expecting more from the extra zamal added here.
You are correct. These are the same zamal A 75%. Pretty sure it’s zamal A x zamal/Thai phenotype F2 males.
Was hoping to find a nice male this round but will have to try again. Unfortunately the one I found decided to throw some pistils after a pump failed and the coco dried out completely.

Hers a better view of both so you can see how small they stayed.

My zam1 is in the front and is only half the size of the one in back which had to be tied down to keep the canopy more even.

Alright man all good info! I definitely should have begged them more than but as I mentioned this run is really just pheno hunt so samples of each plant are all that’s needed to accomplish that task of finding a keeper mother to work with more in the future. 🤘🤘🤘

Hey common thanks for that. Sounds like I should have vegged longer, oh well no biggie like I say even if I can get just a little more out of them I should be good. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks so much Dubi! Several are just exploding with flowers like I’ve never seen before, I suspect they are going to at least 16 weeks! We are at 14 now at 10hrs and maybe 75% pistils still white. Trying my best to be patient! I can’t wait to report back the smoke test from the 6 females!

Have a great day everyone!!

She looks slightly overfed. I only used the Bio Tabs Organic liquid fertilizer twice, after 2 weeks of flowering and in week 4, but this already seems too much (your´re supposed to use it every watering if you follow the label😄)

It never ceases to amaze me how little a lot of these NLDs eat, monster 6+ feet tall plants in 3 gallon pots and barely any feedings needed.
