- Sharing the same air with someone in an enclosed space is the problem - since covid19 is an airborne pathogen - if you do share the same air with anyone - try and do it thru a filter/mask that has air filtration fine enough to actually work -

- most air outside is clear and good to breath - its just where other un-masked humans - or those not wearing a properly filtered mask - are expelling air in enclosed spaces mostly that could be potentially dangerous viral hot-spots - if breathing that air unfiltered - without a mask - you do stand a chance of breathing in a virus yourself -

The reason why it's not a big deal to a lot of ppl is because for the majority of ppl that get it will have minor to no symptoms in many cases the flu is worse. Sheltering yourself from a problem doesn't make it go away, it just sits and waits for another day I think youre better off with some level of exposure so you can build an immunity.

If you are carrying the covid or any virus and are not wearing a mask the individual walking past you, within 6 to 12 feet, when you exhale or speak does indeed have a good chance of having that virus establish in their system. How they are affected by the virus depends on numbers and their immune system capabilities.

Perhaps you missed the logic in the reasons for the sheltering in place. It is/was to do exactly as you have outlined, to make it sit and wait for another day so the medical system would not be overwhelmed. As it is, many medical professionals became ill. Just think how much worse this would be if it had not been slowed down.

The other tactic is to slow it while vaccines and treatments are found.

True, another way would have meant sequestering those over 50 or those with compromised systems and allow the rest of the population to carry on. This would mean strict adherence to keeping these 2 groups separated. This would allow a natural herd immunity to build with limited loss of life.

One would still be faced with caring for those in quarantine as they gradually catch the virus but would also allow the same time frame to research vaccines and treatment. However, the economy would not be at a standstill.

Maybe some Millennials might learn some regular skills

Actually, ignorance is simply a lack of knowledge on a subject. I have admitted my own ignorance about subjects on this forum plenty of times. It is not an insult.

What you stated about the CDC has nothing to do with my knowledge of germs in general. I am not a virologist but I am a microbiologist. I have observed cross-contamination of bacteria/archaea and fungi often as well as bacterial sharing of RNA to morph to gain environmental advantage.

This is what supports my original assertion.

A word of advice; Listen and observe everything, then apply what you have learned to try to come to a logical assertion. If you fall short, look some more.
