khabib didn’t have time to train for Iaquinta so it’s hard to say anything for sure. To me it seems that Iaquinta is just a strong wrestler and had the tools to keep Khabib off of him.

Gunnar got destroyed by Maia but he is nonetheless great on the ground though imo not on Khabib level.

Mcgreggor will probably catch Khabib with a shot early because he is hella explosive but if he can’t then it’s going to get dangerous as we all know Connor gasses after the third round. The question is will Connor follow Khabib to the ground if he Scores a knockdown or will he be too worried about his ground game?

That was an interesting video, Elmer. And conor has long arms for his height too, so he can touch his opponent from relatively far away and gives him more room to evade takedown attempts.
It does leave him vulnerable to opponent's right hands but he's got a solid chin and good reflexes to avoid getting hurt too much.

But then i saw a replay of his fight against chad mendes at ufc 185, and he got taken down like 5-6 times in the 2+ rounds before he knocked out mendes. Ate a fair number of shots on the ground, including an elbow that cut his eyebrow. But for all that, he displayed poise on the ground, and let mendes spend a lot of energy trying to ground and pound, so that after they got back up after the final takedown mendes couldnt keep his hands up and conor landed a left flush on the chin.

But chad was a last minute replacement for aldo so maybe his cardio wasnt good without a full camp to train up, and khabib has cardio for days and can take down anyone. Which is why he opened up the betting favorite over conor.

We'll see how it goes, i like conor, despite his antics, he's got this bravado/showmanship that's entertaining, so i would go with conor by tko in the 3rd...

Maybe you’re giving CMG too much credit. Mendez said that the only reason Connor got up is because he tried to go for a guillotine and Connor was able to escape. I believe him because if you look at the replay you can see that CMG had no answer for Chad’s wrastling. If Chad continued to rough him up on the ground he would have likely won that fight as he was winning on points imo. But that was a long time ago too, could be a new CMG on the ground by now.

Kevin Lee is a beast! I think he can beat anyone on a good day. He lost to Ferguson unfortunately but the dude had a nasty staph infection. Rumors are they put makeup(powder?)on it so the commission wouldn’t complain.
